1 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 S on of man, prophesy and say, Thus hath the Lord GOD said: Howl ye, Woe of the day!

Hijo de hombre, profetiza y di: “Así dice el Señor Dios: ‘Gemid: “¡Ay de aquel día!”

3 F or the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the Gentiles.

‘Porque cerca está el día, sí, está cerca el día del Señor; día de nubarrones, la hora de las naciones.

4 A nd the sword shall come upon Egypt, and great fear shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be destroyed.

‘La espada vendrá sobre Egipto y habrá angustia en Etiopía, cuando caigan traspasados en Egipto, se lleven sus riquezas y sean derribados sus cimientos.

5 E thiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.

‘Etiopía, Put, Lud, toda Arabia, Libia, y el pueblo de la tierra en alianza caerán a espada con ellos.’

6 T hus hath the LORD said: Those also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down; from the tower of Syene they shall fall in it by the sword, said the Lord GOD.

“Así dice el Señor: ‘Ciertamente caerán los que apoyan a Egipto, y se vendrá abajo el orgullo de su poder; desde Migdol hasta Sevene caerán a espada con él’ —declara el Señor Dios.

7 A nd they shall be made desolate among the countries that are destroyed, and her cities shall be among the cities that are wasted.

‘Estarán desolados en medio de las tierras desoladas, y sus ciudades, en medio de las ciudades devastadas estarán.

8 A nd they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in Egypt and when all her helpers shall be broken.

‘Y sabrán que yo soy el Señor, cuando ponga fuego a Egipto y sean destrozados todos los que le ayudan.

9 I n that time messengers shall go forth from me in ships to make the confident Ethiopians afraid, and great fear shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, behold, it comes.

‘Aquel día saldrán de mi presencia mensajeros en naves para aterrorizar a la confiada Etiopía; y vendrá angustia sobre ellos como en el día de Egipto; porque he aquí, viene.’

10 T hus hath the Lord GOD said: I will make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.

“Así dice el Señor Dios: ‘Acabaré con la multitud de Egipto por mano de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia.

11 H e and his people with him, the strongest of the Gentiles, shall be brought to destroy the land; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain.

‘El, y su pueblo con él, la más cruel de las naciones, será traída para destruir la tierra; sacarán sus espadas contra Egipto y llenarán de traspasados la tierra.

12 A nd I will make the rivers dry and deliver the land into the hand of the wicked: and I will destroy the land and all that is therein by the hand of strangers: I the LORD have spoken.

‘Convertiré en sequedal los canales del Nilo y venderé la tierra en manos de malvados; desolaré la tierra y cuanto hay en ella por mano de extraños. Yo, el Señor, he hablado.’

13 T hus hath the Lord GOD said: I will also destroy the images, and I will cause the idols of Menfis to cease; and there shall no longer be a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

“Así dice el Señor Dios: ‘Destruiré también los ídolos y haré cesar las imágenes de Menfis. Ya no habrá príncipe en la tierra de Egipto, y pondré temor en la tierra de Egipto.

14 A nd I will make Pathros desolate and will set fire in Tafnes and will execute judgments in No.

‘Asolaré a Patros, pondré fuego en Zoán, y ejecutaré juicios contra Tebas.

15 A nd I will pour my fury upon Pelusio, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.

‘Derramaré mi furor sobre Sin, la fortaleza de Egipto; también exterminaré a la multitud de Tebas.

16 A nd I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusio shall have great pain, and No shall be rent asunder, and Menfis shall have distresses daily.

‘Y pondré fuego en Egipto; Sin se retorcerá de dolor, Tebas será destruida, y Menfis tendrá angustias cada día.

17 T he young men of Heliopolis and of Pubasti shall fall by the sword; and these cities shall go into captivity.

‘Los jóvenes de On y de Pi-beset caerán a espada, y las mujeres irán al cautiverio.

18 A t Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt; and the pride of her strength shall cease in her; as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and the inhabitants of her villages shall go into captivity.

‘En Tafnes el día se oscurecerá cuando yo quiebre allí los yugos de Egipto, y cesará en ella la soberbia de su poderío; una nube la cubrirá, y sus hijas irán al cautiverio.

19 T hus will I execute judgments in Egypt; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

‘Así ejecutaré juicios en Egipto, y sabrán que yo soy el Señor.’”

20 ¶ And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Y sucedió en el año once, el mes primero, el día siete del mes, que vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:

21 S on of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, behold, it has not been bound up with medicine, to bind it that it might be made whole, to make it strong to hold the sword.

Hijo de hombre, he quebrado el brazo de Faraón, rey de Egipto, y he aquí, no ha sido vendado para curarlo, ni ligado con vendas de modo que cobre fuerzas para empuñar la espada.

22 T herefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

Por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios: “He aquí, estoy en contra de Faraón, rey de Egipto; quebraré sus brazos, tanto el fuerte como el fracturado, y haré que la espada caiga de su mano.

23 A nd I will scatter the Egyptians among the Gentiles and will disperse them through the countries.

“Dispersaré a los egipcios entre las naciones y los esparciré por las tierras.

24 A nd I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break Pharaoh’s arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a man wounded unto death.

“Fortaleceré los brazos del rey de Babilonia y pondré mi espada en su mano; y quebraré los brazos de Faraón, que delante de él gemirá con gemidos de un mal herido.

25 B ut I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I place my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt.

“Fortaleceré, pues, los brazos del rey de Babilonia, pero los brazos de Faraón caerán. Entonces sabrán que yo soy el Señor, cuando ponga mi espada en la mano del rey de Babilonia y él la esgrima contra la tierra de Egipto.

26 A nd I will scatter the Egyptians among the Gentiles and disperse them among the countries; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

“Cuando yo disperse a los egipcios entre las naciones y los esparza por las tierras, entonces sabrán que yo soy el Señor.”
