1 ¶ Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

Entonces Job respondió al Señor, y dijo:

2 I know that thou canst do every thing and that there is no thought hidden from thee.

Yo sé que tú puedes hacer todas las cosas, y que ningún propósito tuyo puede ser estorbado.

3 W ho is he that hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore, I have denounced that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

“¿Quién es éste que oculta el consejo sin entendimiento ?” Por tanto, he declarado lo que no comprendía, cosas demasiado maravillosas para mí, que yo no sabía.

4 H ear, now, and I will speak; I will ask of thee, and thou shalt cause me to know.

“Escucha ahora, y hablaré; te preguntaré y tú me instruirás.”

5 W ith my ears I had heard thee; but now my eyes see thee.

He sabido de ti sólo de oídas, pero ahora mis ojos te ven.

6 T herefore, I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.

Por eso me retracto, y me arrepiento en polvo y ceniza.

7 ¶ And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz, the Temanite, My wrath has been kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken by me in uprightness, as my slave Job has.

Y sucedió que después que el Señor habló estas palabras a Job, el Señor dijo a Elifaz temanita: Se ha encendido mi ira contra ti y contra tus dos amigos, porque no habéis hablado de mí lo que es recto, como mi siervo Job.

8 T herefore, take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my slave Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my slave Job shall pray for you; for only because I will accept him, I shall not deal with you according to your folly, in that ye have not spoken by me in uprightness, like my slave Job.

Ahora pues, tomad siete novillos y siete carneros, id a mi siervo Job y ofreced holocausto por vosotros, y mi siervo Job orará por vosotros. Porque ciertamente a él atenderé para no hacer con vosotros conforme a vuestra insensatez, porque no habéis hablado de mí lo que es recto, como mi siervo Job.

9 S o Eliphaz, the Temanite, and Bildad, the Shuhite, and Zophar, the Naamathite, went, and did according as the LORD commanded them; and the LORD accepted Job.

Y Elifaz temanita y Bildad suhita y Zofar naamatita fueron e hicieron tal como el Señor les había dicho; y el Señor aceptó a Job.

10 ¶ And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends; also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Y el Señor restauró el bienestar de Job cuando éste oró por sus amigos; y el Señor aumentó al doble todo lo que Job había poseído.

11 T hen all his brethren came unto him and all his sisters and all those that had been of his acquaintance before and ate bread with him in his house; and they condoled him and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him; each one also gave him an ewe, and an earring of gold.

Entonces todos sus hermanos y todas sus hermanas y todos los que le habían conocido antes, vinieron a él y comieron pan con él en su casa; se condolieron de él y lo consolaron por todo el mal que el Señor había traído sobre él. Cada uno le dio una moneda de plata, y cada uno un anillo de oro.

12 S o the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand she asses.

El Señor bendijo los últimos días de Job más que los primeros; y tuvo catorce mil ovejas, seis mil camellos, mil yuntas de bueyes y mil asnas.

13 H e also had seven sons and three daughters.

Y tuvo siete hijos y tres hijas.

14 A nd he called the name of the first, Jemima, and the name of the second, Kezia, and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.

Llamó a la primera Jemina, a la segunda Cesia y a la tercera Keren-hapuc.

15 A nd in all the land no women were found as beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

Y en toda la tierra no se encontraban mujeres tan hermosas como las hijas de Job; y su padre les dio herencia entre sus hermanos.

16 A fter this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.

Después de esto vivió Job ciento cuarenta años, y vio a sus hijos y a los hijos de sus hijos, hasta cuatro generaciones.

17 S o Job died, being old and full of days.

Y murió Job, anciano y lleno de días.
