3 B ecause of the savour of thy good ointments (ointment poured forth is thy name), therefore have the virgins loved thee.

Tus ungüentos tienen olor agradable, tu nombre es como ungüento purificado; por eso te aman las doncellas.

4 D raw me after thee, we will run. The king has brought me into his chambers; we will be glad and rejoice in thee; we will remember thy love more than the wine; the upright love thee.

Llévame en pos de ti y corramos juntos. El rey me ha conducido a sus cámaras. EL CORO: Nos regocijaremos y nos alegraremos en ti, exaltaremos tu amor más que el vino. Con razón te aman. LA ESPOSA:

5 I am dark, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, more desirable as the booths of Kedar, as the tents of Solomon.

Soy morena pero preciosa, oh hijas de Jerusalén, como las tiendas de Cedar, como las cortinas de Salomón.

6 D o not look upon me because I am dark because the sun has looked upon me; my mother’s sons were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards, but I have not kept my own vineyard.

No os fijéis en que soy morena, porque el sol me ha quemado. Los hijos de mi madre se enojaron conmigo; me pusieron a guardar las viñas, y mi propia viña no guardé.

7 ¶ Tell me, O thou whom my soul loves, where thou dost feed, where thou dost make thy flock to rest at noon; for why did I have to be as a wanderer after the flocks of thy companions?

Dime, amado de mi alma: ¿Dónde apacientas tu rebaño ? ¿Dónde lo haces descansar al mediodía? ¿Por qué he de ser yo como una que se cubre con velo junto a los rebaños de tus compañeros ? EL CORO:

8 I f thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go forth, following the footprints of the flock and feed thy little female goats beside the booths of the shepherds.

Si tú no lo sabes, ¡oh la más hermosa de las mujeres!, sal tras las huellas del rebaño, y apacienta tus cabritas junto a las cabañas de los pastores. Diálogo entre los esposos EL ESPOSO:

9 I have compared thee, O my love, to a mare of the chariots of Pharaoh.

A mi yegua, entre los carros de Faraón, yo te comparo, amada mía.

10 T hy cheeks are beautiful between the earrings, thy neck between the necklaces.

Hermosas son tus mejillas entre los adornos, tu cuello entre los collares. EL CORO:

11 W e will make thee earrings of gold with studs of silver.

Adornos de oro haremos para ti, con cuentas de plata. LA ESPOSA:

12 ¶ While the king was on his couch, my spikenard gave forth its fragrance.

Mientras el rey estaba a la mesa, mi perfume esparció su fragancia.

13 A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me that rests between my breasts.

Bolsita de mirra es mi amado para mí, que reposa toda la noche entre mis pechos.

14 M y beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.

Ramillete de flores de alheña es mi amado para mí en las viñas de En-gadi. EL ESPOSO:

15 B ehold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes.

Cuán hermosa eres, amada mía, cuán hermosa eres. Tus ojos son como palomas. LA ESPOSA:

16 B ehold, thou art fair, O my beloved, and pleasant; also our bed has flowers.

Cuán hermoso eres, amado mío, y tan placentero. Ciertamente nuestro lecho es de exuberante verdor.

17 T he beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.

Las vigas de nuestras casas son cedros, nuestros artesonados, cipreses.
