1 ¶ Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.

Abraham volvió a tomar mujer, y su nombre era Cetura.

2 A nd she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.

Y ella le dio a luz a Zimram, a Jocsán, a Medán, a Madián, a Isbac y a Súa.

3 A nd Jokshan begat Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.

Jocsán engendró a Seba y a Dedán. Y los hijos de Dedán fueron Asurim, Letusim y Leumim.

4 A nd the sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Enoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

Y los hijos de Madián fueron Efa, Efer, Hanoc, Abida y Elda. Todos estos fueron los hijos de Cetura.

5 A nd Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

Abraham dio a Isaac todo lo que poseía;

6 B ut unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.

y a los hijos de sus concubinas Abraham les dio regalos, viviendo aún él, y los envió lejos de su hijo Isaac hacia el este, a la tierra del oriente. Muerte y sepultura de Abraham

7 A nd these were the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, one hundred seventy-five years.

Estos fueron los años de la vida de Abraham: ciento setenta y cinco años.

8 T hen Abraham expired and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people.

Abraham expiró, y murió en buena vejez, anciano y lleno de días, y fue reunido a su pueblo.

9 A nd his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is in front of Mamre;

Y sus hijos Isaac e Ismael lo sepultaron en la cueva de Macpela, en el campo de Efrón, hijo de Zohar hitita, que está frente a Mamre,

10 t he field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth, there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

11 ¶ And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.

12 N ow these are the generations of Ishmael, son of Abraham, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, gave birth unto Abraham:

Estas son las generaciones de Ismael, hijo de Abraham, el que Agar la egipcia, sierva de Sara, le dio a luz a Abraham;

13 A nd these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their lineages: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth, and Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

y estos son los nombres de los hijos de Ismael, nombrados por el orden de su nacimiento: el primogénito de Ismael, Nebaiot, después, Cedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

16 T hese are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns and by their palaces; twelve princes according to their families.

Estos son los hijos de Ismael, y éstos sus nombres, por sus aldeas y por sus campamentos, doce príncipes según sus tribus.

17 A nd these are the years of the life of Ishmael, one hundred thirty-seven years; and Ishmael expired and died and was gathered unto his people.

Estos fueron los años de la vida de Ismael: ciento treinta y siete años; y expiró y murió, y fue reunido a su pueblo.

18 A nd they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria; and he fell in the presence of all his brethren.

Y habitó desde Havila hasta Shur, que está enfrente de Egipto, según se va hacia Asiria; se estableció allí frente a todos sus parientes. Nacimiento de Esaú y de Jacob

19 ¶ And these are the generations of Isaac, son of Abraham. Abraham begat Isaac;

Estas son las generaciones de Isaac, hijo de Abraham: Abraham engendró a Isaac.

20 a nd Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel, the Aramean of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Aramean.

Tenía Isaac cuarenta años cuando tomó por mujer a Rebeca, hija de Betuel, arameo de Padán-aram, hermana de Labán arameo.

21 A nd Isaac prayed unto the LORD for his wife because she was barren; and the LORD accepted him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Y oró Isaac al Señor en favor de su mujer, porque ella era estéril; y lo escuchó el Señor, y Rebeca su mujer concibió.

22 A nd the sons struggled together within her; and she said, If this is so, why should I live? And she went to enquire of the LORD.

Y los hijos luchaban dentro de ella; y ella dijo: Si esto es así, ¿para qué vivo yo? Y fue a consultar al Señor.

23 A nd the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

Y el Señor le dijo: Dos naciones hay en tu seno, y dos pueblos se dividirán desde tus entrañas; un pueblo será más fuerte que el otro, y el mayor servirá al menor.

24 A nd when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

Y cuando se cumplieron los días de dar a luz, he aquí, había mellizos en su seno.

25 A nd the first came out red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

Salió el primero rojizo, todo velludo como una pelliza, y lo llamaron Esaú.

26 A nd afterwards his brother came out with Esau’s heel grasped in his hand; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when Rebekah gave birth to them.

Y después salió su hermano, con su mano asida al talón de Esaú, y lo llamaron Jacob. Isaac tenía sesenta años cuando ella los dio a luz. Esaú vende su primogenitura

27 A nd the boys grew, and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was an upright man, remaining in the tents.

Los niños crecieron, y Esaú llegó a ser diestro cazador, hombre del campo; pero Jacob era hombre pacífico, que habitaba en tiendas.

28 A nd Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his venison; but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Y amaba Isaac a Esaú porque le gustaba lo que cazaba, pero Rebeca amaba a Jacob.

29 ¶ And Jacob boiled pottage; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint;

Un día, cuando Jacob había preparado un potaje, Esaú vino del campo, agotado;

30 a nd Esau said to Jacob, Give me to eat, I pray thee, of that red pottage; for I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom.

y Esaú dijo a Jacob: Te ruego que me des a comer un poco de ese guisado rojo, pues estoy agotado. Por eso lo llamaron Edom.

31 A nd Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

Pero Jacob le dijo: Véndeme primero tu primogenitura.

32 A nd Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die; and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

Y Esaú dijo: He aquí, estoy a punto de morir; ¿de qué me sirve, pues, la primogenitura?

33 A nd Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

Y Jacob dijo: Júramelo primero; y él se lo juró, y vendió su primogenitura a Jacob.

34 T hen Jacob gave Esau of the bread and of the pottage of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up, and went away. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

Entonces Jacob dio a Esaú pan y guisado de lentejas; y él comió y bebió, se levantó y se fue. Así menospreció Esaú la primogenitura.
