1 ¶ For we know that if the earthly house of this our habitation were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Porque sabemos que si la tienda terrenal que es nuestra morada, es destruida, tenemos de Dios un edificio, una casa no hecha por manos, eterna en los cielos.

2 F or in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven,

Pues, en verdad, en esta morada gemimos, anhelando ser vestidos con nuestra habitación celestial;

3 i f so be that we shall be found clothed and not naked.

y una vez vestidos, no seremos hallados desnudos.

4 F or we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened, for we do not desire to be unclothed, but to be clothed upon with life swallowing up that which is mortal.

Porque asimismo, los que estamos en esta tienda, gemimos agobiados, pues no queremos ser desvestidos, sino vestidos, para que lo mortal sea absorbido por la vida.

5 N ow he that has made us for this same thing is God, who has likewise given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

Y el que nos preparó para esto mismo es Dios, quien nos dio el Espíritu como garantía.

6 T herefore we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord

Por tanto, animados siempre y sabiendo que mientras habitamos en el cuerpo, estamos ausentes del Señor

7 ( for we walk by faith, not by sight).

(porque por fe andamos, no por vista );

8 W e are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

pero cobramos ánimo y preferimos más bien estar ausentes del cuerpo y habitar con el Señor.

9 T herefore we also procure, whether present or absent, that we may please him.

Por eso, ya sea presentes o ausentes, ambicionamos serle agradables.

10 F or we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive according to that which they have done in the body, good or evil.

Porque todos nosotros debemos comparecer ante el tribunal de Cristo, para que cada uno sea recompensado por sus hechos estando en el cuerpo, de acuerdo con lo que hizo, sea bueno o sea malo. La nueva criatura

11 T herefore being certain of that terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God, and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

Por tanto, conociendo el temor del Señor, persuadimos a los hombres, pero a Dios somos manifiestos, y espero que también seamos manifiestos en vuestras conciencias.

12 ¶ For we do not commend ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf that ye may have something to answer those who glory in appearance, and not in heart.

No nos recomendamos otra vez a vosotros, sino que os damos oportunidad de estar orgullosos de nosotros, para que tengáis respuesta para los que se jactan en las apariencias y no en el corazón.

13 F or whether we are fools, it is unto God; or whether we are sane, it is for your cause.

Porque si estamos locos, es para Dios; y si estamos cuerdos, es para vosotros.

14 F or the charity of the Christ constrains us because we judge thus: that if one died for all, then all are dead:

Pues el amor de Cristo nos apremia, habiendo llegado a esta conclusión: que uno murió por todos, por consiguiente, todos murieron;

15 A nd that he died for all that those who live should not live from now on unto themselves, but unto him who died and rose again for them.

y por todos murió, para que los que viven, ya no vivan para sí, sino para aquel que murió y resucitó por ellos.

16 ¶ Therefore from now on we know no one according to the flesh: and even if we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him no longer.

De manera que nosotros de ahora en adelante ya no conocemos a nadie según la carne; aunque hemos conocido a Cristo según la carne, sin embargo, ahora ya no le conocemos así.

17 T herefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are made new.

De modo que si alguno está en Cristo, nueva criatura es; las cosas viejas pasaron; he aquí, son hechas nuevas. El ministerio de la reconciliación

18 A nd all this by God, who reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;

Y todo esto procede de Dios, quien nos reconcilió consigo mismo por medio de Cristo, y nos dio el ministerio de la reconciliación;

19 f or certainly God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them and having placed in us the word of reconciliation.

a saber, que Dios estaba en Cristo reconciliando al mundo consigo mismo, no tomando en cuenta a los hombres sus transgresiones, y nos ha encomendado a nosotros la palabra de la reconciliación.

20 N ow then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did exhort you by us; we beseech you in Christ’s name, be ye reconciled to God.

Por tanto, somos embajadores de Cristo, como si Dios rogara por medio de nosotros; en nombre de Cristo os rogamos: ¡Reconciliaos con Dios!

21 F or he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Al que no conoció pecado, le hizo pecado por nosotros, para que fuéramos hechos justicia de Dios en El.
