1 ¶ Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

2 t o the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

a los santos y fieles hermanos en Cristo que están en Colosas: Gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios nuestro Padre. Gratitud de Pablo por los colosenses

3 ¶ We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you

Damos gracias a Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, orando siempre por vosotros,

4 s ince we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the charity which ye have toward all the saints,

al oír de vuestra fe en Cristo Jesús y del amor que tenéis por todos los santos,

5 f or the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which ye have already heard by the word of the truth of the gospel,

a causa de la esperanza reservada para vosotros en los cielos, de la cual oísteis antes en la palabra de verdad, el evangelio

6 w hich is come unto you, as it is in all the world, and brings forth fruit, as it does also in you, since the day ye heard it and knew the grace of God in truth,

que ha llegado hasta vosotros. Así como en todo el mundo está dando fruto constantemente y creciendo, así lo ha estado haciendo también en vosotros, desde el día que oísteis y comprendisteis la gracia de Dios en verdad;

7 a s ye also learned of Epaphras, our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ,

tal como lo aprendisteis de Epafras, nuestro amado consiervo, quien es fiel servidor de Cristo de parte nuestra,

8 w ho also declared unto us your charity in the Spirit.

el cual también nos informó acerca de vuestro amor en el Espíritu. Pablo ora por los colosenses

9 ¶ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, asking that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,

Por esta razón, también nosotros, desde el día que lo supimos, no hemos cesado de orar por vosotros y de rogar que seáis llenos del conocimiento de su voluntad en toda sabiduría y comprensión espiritual,

10 t hat ye might walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing him in everything, being fruitful in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God,

para que andéis como es digno del Señor, agradándo le en todo, dando fruto en toda buena obra y creciendo en el conocimiento de Dios;

11 s trengthened with all might, according to the power of his glory unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness,

fortalecidos con todo poder según la potencia de su gloria, para obtener toda perseverancia y paciencia, con gozo

12 ¶ giving thanks unto the Father, who has made us worthy to participate in the inheritance of the saints in light,

dando gracias al Padre que nos ha capacitado para compartir la herencia de los santos en luz. La persona y la obra de Jesucristo

13 w ho has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son,

Porque El nos libró del dominio de las tinieblas y nos trasladó al reino de su Hijo amado,

14 i n whom we have redemption through his blood, even the remission of sins,

en quien tenemos redención: el perdón de los pecados.

15 w ho is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature;

El es la imagen del Dios invisible, el primogénito de toda creación.

16 f or by him were all things created, that are in the heavens and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by him and in him;

Porque en El fueron creadas todas las cosas, tanto en los cielos como en la tierra, visibles e invisibles; ya sean tronos o dominios o poderes o autoridades; todo ha sido creado por medio de El y para El.

17 A nd he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Y El es antes de todas las cosas, y en El todas las cosas permanecen.

18 A nd he is the head of the body, the congregation, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence.

El es también la cabeza del cuerpo que es la iglesia; y El es el principio, el primogénito de entre los muertos, a fin de que El tenga en todo la primacía.

19 F or it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell

Porque agradó al Padre que en El habitara toda la plenitud,

20 a nd by him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross, whether they are the things in the earth or the things in the heavens.

y por medio de El reconciliar todas las cosas consigo, habiendo hecho la paz por medio de la sangre de su cruz, por medio de El, repito, ya sean las que están en la tierra o las que están en los cielos.

21 A nd you, that were in another time alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now he has reconciled you

Y aunque vosotros antes estabais alejados y erais de ánimo hostil, ocupados en malas obras,

22 i n the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight

sin embargo, ahora El os ha reconciliado en su cuerpo de carne, mediante su muerte, a fin de presentaros santos, sin mancha e irreprensibles delante de El,

23 i f ye continue in the faith grounded and settled and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard and which is preached to every creature which is under heaven, of which I Paul am made a minister,

si en verdad permanecéis en la fe bien cimentados y constantes, sin moveros de la esperanza del evangelio que habéis oído, que fue proclamado a toda la creación debajo del cielo, y del cual yo, Pablo, fui hecho ministro. Cristo en vosotros, la esperanza de gloria

24 w ho now rejoice in my sufferings for you and fulfill in my flesh that which is lacking of the tribulations of the Christ for his body’s sake, which is the congregation,

Ahora me alegro de mis sufrimientos por vosotros, y en mi carne, completando lo que falta de las aflicciones de Cristo, hago mi parte por su cuerpo, que es la iglesia,

25 o f which I am made a minister by the dispensation of God which is given to me in you, to fulfil the word of God,

de la cual fui hecho ministro conforme a la administración de Dios que me fue dada para beneficio vuestro, a fin de llevar a cabo la predicación de la palabra de Dios,

26 e ven the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints,

es decir, el misterio que ha estado oculto desde los siglos y generaciones pasadas, pero que ahora ha sido manifestado a sus santos,

27 t o whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery in the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

a quienes Dios quiso dar a conocer cuáles son las riquezas de la gloria de este misterio entre los gentiles, que es Cristo en vosotros, la esperanza de la gloria.

28 w hom we preach, warning every man and teaching in all wisdom that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus,

A El nosotros proclamamos, amonestando a todos los hombres, y enseñando a todos los hombres con toda sabiduría, a fin de poder presentar a todo hombre perfecto en Cristo.

29 i n which I continue to labour, contending according to his operation, which he works in me mightily.

Y con este fin también trabajo, esforzándome según su poder que obra poderosamente en mí.
