1 ¶ Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

¡Ay de la rebelde y contaminada, la ciudad opresora!

2 S he did not obey the voice; she did not receive correction; she did not trust in the LORD; she did not draw near to her God.

No escuchó la voz, ni aceptó la corrección. No confió en el Señor, ni se acercó a su Dios.

3 H er princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they do not leave a bone for tomorrow.

Sus príncipes en medio de ella son leones rugientes, sus jueces, lobos al anochecer; no dejan nada para la mañana.

4 H er prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary; they have falsified the law.

Sus profetas son temerarios, hombres pérfidos; sus sacerdotes han profanado el santuario, han violado la ley.

5 T he just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: each morning he shall bring his judgment to light; he never fails; but the unjust know no shame.

El Señor es justo en medio de ella; no cometerá injusticia. Cada mañana saca a luz su juicio, nunca falta; pero el injusto no conoce la vergüenza.

6 I have caused the Gentiles to be cut off: their castles are desolate; I made their streets waste until no one passes by; their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man left, there is no inhabitant.

Yo he exterminado naciones; sus torreones están en ruinas, hice desiertas sus calles, sin que nadie pase por ellas; sus ciudades están desoladas, sin hombre alguno, sin ningún habitante.

7 S aying, Surely now thou wilt fear me; thou wilt receive chastisement; so thy dwelling shall not be thrown down, all of which I visited upon her; but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

Dije: “Ciertamente me temerás, aceptarás corrección.” Entonces no será destruida su morada a pesar de todo lo que yo había determinado sobre ella; pero ellos se apresuraron a corromper todas sus acciones.

8 ¶ Therefore wait for me, said the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey; for my judgment is to gather the Gentiles, that I may assemble the kingdoms to pour upon them my indignation, even all my fierce anger; for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Por tanto, esperadme —declara el Señor — hasta el día en que me levante como testigo, porque mi decisión es reunir a las naciones, juntar a los reinos, para derramar sobre ellos mi indignación, todo el ardor de mi ira; porque por el fuego de mi celo toda la tierra será consumida.

9 F or then I will restore to the peoples the pure language that they may all call upon the name of the LORD to serve him with one consent.

En ese tiempo daré a los pueblos labios puros, para que todos ellos invoquen el nombre del Señor, para que le sirvan de común acuerdo.

10 F rom beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring me an offering.

Desde más allá de los ríos de Etiopía mis adoradores, mis dispersos, traerán mi ofrenda.

11 I n that day thou shalt not be ashamed for any of thy doings, in which thou hast rebelled against me, for then I will take away out of the midst of thee those that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no longer be haughty because of the mountain of my holiness.

Aquel día no te avergonzarás de ninguna de tus acciones con que te rebelaste contra mí; porque entonces yo quitaré de en medio de ti a los que se regocijan en tu orgullo, y nunca más te envanecerás en mi santo monte.

12 I will also leave in the midst of thee a poor and humble people, and they shall wait in the name of the LORD.

Y dejaré en medio de ti un pueblo humilde y pobre, que se refugiará en el nombre del Señor.

13 T he remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they shall be fed and lie down, and no one shall make them afraid.

El remanente de Israel no hará injusticia ni dirá mentira, ni se hallará en su boca lengua engañosa, porque ellos se alimentarán y reposarán sin que nadie los atemorice. Júbilo por la restauración de Israel

14 ¶ Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout with joy O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all thy heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

Canta jubilosa, hija de Sion. Lanza gritos de alegría, Israel. Alégrate y regocíjate de todo corazón, hija de Jerusalén.

15 T he LORD has taken away thy judgments; he has cast out thine enemy; the LORD is king of Israel in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.

El Señor ha retirado sus juicios contra ti, ha expulsado a tus enemigos. El Rey de Israel, el Señor, está en medio de ti; ya no temerás mal alguno.

16 I n that time it shall be said to Jerusalem, Do not fear; and to Zion, Do not let thine hands be slack.

Aquel día le dirán a Jerusalén: No temas, Sion; no desfallezcan tus manos.

17 T he LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save; he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love; he will joy over thee with singing.

El Señor tu Dios está en medio de ti, guerrero victorioso; se gozará en ti con alegría, en su amor guardará silencio, se regocijará por ti con cantos de júbilo.

18 I will gather those that are weary because of the long time, who are thine, unto whom her confusion was a burden.

Reuniré a los que se afligen por las fiestas señaladas, tuyos son, oh Sion, el oprobio del destierro es una carga para ellos.

19 B ehold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee; and I will save her that is lame and gather her that was driven out; and I will make them a praise and of good reputation in every land where they have been put to shame.

He aquí, en aquel tiempo me ocuparé de todos tus opresores; salvaré a la coja y recogeré a la desterrada, y convertiré su vergüenza en alabanza y renombre en toda la tierra.

20 A t that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you; for I will give you as fame and as praise among all peoples of the earth, when I shall return your captives before your eyes, saith the LORD.

En aquel tiempo os traeré, en aquel tiempo os reuniré; ciertamente, os daré renombre y alabanza entre todos los pueblos de la tierra, cuando yo haga volver a vuestros cautivos ante vuestros ojos —dice el Señor.
