1 ¶ And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took each of them his censer and put fire therein and put incense thereon and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he had never commanded them.

Nadab y Abiú, hijos de Aarón, tomaron sus respectivos incensarios, y después de poner fuego en ellos y echar incienso sobre él, ofrecieron delante del Señor fuego extraño, que El no les había ordenado.

2 A nd there went out fire from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

Y de la presencia del Señor salió fuego que los consumió, y murieron delante del Señor.

3 ¶ Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is what the LORD spoke, saying, I will be sanctified in those that come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron was silent.

Entonces Moisés dijo a Aarón: Esto es lo que el Señor habló, diciendo: “Como santo seré tratado por los que se acercan a mí, y en presencia de todo el pueblo seré honrado.” Y Aarón guardó silencio.

4 A nd Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.

Llamó también Moisés a Misael y a Elzafán, hijos de Uziel, tío de Aarón, y les dijo: Acercaos, llevaos a vuestros parientes de delante del santuario, fuera del campamento.

5 S o they went near and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moses had said.

Y ellos se acercaron y los llevaron fuera del campamento todavía en sus túnicas, como Moisés había dicho.

6 T hen Moses said unto Aaron and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Do not uncover your heads, neither rend your clothes lest ye die and lest wrath come upon the whole congregation; but your brethren, the whole house of Israel, shall lament the burning which the LORD has done.

Luego Moisés dijo a Aarón y a sus hijos Eleazar e Itamar: No descubráis vuestra cabeza ni rasguéis vuestros vestidos, para que no muráis y para que El no desate todo su enojo contra toda la congregación. Pero vuestros hermanos, toda la casa de Israel, se lamentarán por el incendio que el Señor ha traído.

7 A nd ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, lest ye die; for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

Ni siquiera saldréis de la entrada de la tienda de reunión, no sea que muráis; porque el aceite de unción del Señor está sobre vosotros. Y ellos hicieron conforme al mandato de Moisés. Deberes y porciones de los sacerdotes

8 ¶ And the LORD spoke unto Aaron, saying,

El Señor habló a Aarón, diciendo:

9 D o not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee when ye go into the tabernacle of the testimony, lest ye die; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations;

No beberéis vino ni licor, tú ni tus hijos contigo, cuando entréis en la tienda de reunión, para que no muráis (es estatuto perpetuo por todas vuestras generaciones),

10 a nd this is that ye may discern between the holy and the profane and between the unclean and the clean

y para que hagáis distinción entre lo santo y lo profano, entre lo inmundo y lo limpio,

11 a nd that ye may teach the sons of Israel all the statutes which the LORD has spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

y para que enseñéis a los hijos de Israel todos los estatutos que el Señor les ha dicho por medio de Moisés.

12 ¶ And Moses spoke unto Aaron and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the present that remains of the offerings on fire unto the LORD and eat it without leaven beside the altar; for it is most holy:

Y Moisés dijo a Aarón y a los hijos que le quedaban, Eleazar e Itamar: Tomad la ofrenda de cereal que queda de las ofrendas encendidas para el Señor, y comedla sin levadura junto al altar, porque es santísima.

13 Y e must, therefore, eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due and thy sons’ due of the offerings of the LORD on fire; for so I am commanded.

La comeréis, pues, en lugar santo, porque es la porción tuya y la porción de tus hijos de las ofrendas encendidas al Señor; porque así se me ha ordenado.

14 A nd the waved breast and elevated shoulder shall ye likewise eat in a clean place, thou and thy sons and thy daughters with thee; for they are thy due and thy sons’ due, which are given out of the sacrifices of the peace of the sons of Israel.

Sin embargo, el pecho de la ofrenda mecida y la pierna de la ofrenda podéis comer los en un lugar limpio, tú, y tus hijos y tus hijas contigo; porque han sido dadas como la porción tuya y la de tus hijos de los sacrificios de las ofrendas de paz de los hijos de Israel.

15 W ith the offerings of the fat which are to be lit on fire, they shall bring the shoulder which is to be elevated and the breast which shall be waved as a wave offering before the LORD; and it shall be thine and thy sons’ with thee by a perpetual statute, as the LORD has commanded.

La pierna que fue ofrecida levantándola, y el pecho que fue ofrecido meciéndolo, los traerán junto con las ofrendas encendidas de los pedazos de grasa, para presentarlos como ofrenda mecida delante del Señor; así será para siempre la porción tuya y la de tus hijos contigo, tal como el Señor ha ordenado.

16 A nd Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin, and, behold, it was burnt up, and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left alive, saying,

Y Moisés preguntó con diligencia por el macho cabrío de la ofrenda por el pecado, y he aquí que había sido quemado. Y se enojó con Eleazar e Itamar, los hijos que le habían quedado a Aarón, diciendo:

17 W hy have ye not eaten of the atonement for sin in the holy place? For it is most holy, and God has given it to you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, that they may be reconciled before the LORD.

¿Por qué no comisteis la ofrenda por el pecado en el lugar santo? Porque es santísima y os ha sido dada para quitar la culpa de la congregación, para hacer expiación por ellos delante del Señor.

18 B ehold, the blood of it was not brought in within the inner sanctuary; ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.

He aquí, puesto que la sangre no había sido traída dentro, al santuario, ciertamente debíais haber comido la ofrenda en el santuario, tal como yo ordené.

19 A nd Aaron replied unto Moses, Behold, today they have offered their sin and their burnt offering before the LORD; with all this, these things have befallen me; therefore if I had eaten of the atonement for sin today, would it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD?

Pero Aarón dijo a Moisés: Mira, hoy mismo han presentado ellos su ofrenda por el pecado y su holocausto delante del Señor. Ya que esto me ha sucedido, si yo hubiera comido hoy de la ofrenda por el pecado, ¿hubiera sido grato a los ojos del Señor ?

20 A nd when Moses heard that, he was content.

Cuando Moisés oyó esto, quedó satisfecho.
