1 ¶ And Israel took his journey with all that he had and came to Beersheba and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.

Y partió Israel con todo lo que tenía y llegó a Beerseba, y ofreció sacrificios al Dios de su padre Isaac.

2 A nd God spoke unto Israel in visions of the night and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

Y Dios habló a Israel en una visión nocturna, y dijo: Jacob, Jacob. Y él respondió: Heme aquí.

3 A nd he said, I am the God, the God of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for there I will make of thee a great people.

Y El dijo: Yo soy Dios, el Dios de tu padre; no temas descender a Egipto, porque allí te haré una gran nación.

4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.

Yo descenderé contigo a Egipto, y ciertamente, yo también te haré volver; y José cerrará tus ojos.

5 ¶ And Jacob rose up from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel took Jacob their father and their little ones and their wives in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

Entonces Jacob partió de Beerseba; y los hijos de Israel llevaron a su padre Jacob, y a sus pequeños y a sus mujeres, en las carretas que Faraón había enviado para llevarlo.

6 A nd they took their cattle and their goods which they had gotten in the land of Canaan and came into Egypt, Jacob and all his seed with him,

8 A nd these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.

Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Israel, Jacob y sus hijos, que fueron a Egipto: Rubén, primogénito de Jacob.

9 A nd the sons of Reuben: Enoch, Phallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

Los hijos de Rubén: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi.

10 A nd the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Saul the son of a Canaanite woman.

11 A nd the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

12 A nd the sons of Judah: Er and Onan and Shelah and Pharez and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.

16 A nd the sons of Gad: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.

21 A nd the sons of Benjamin were Belah, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.

22 T hese are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob, in all, fourteen souls.

Estos son los hijos de Raquel, que le nacieron a Jacob; catorce personas en total.

23 A nd the sons of Dan: Hushim.

Los hijos de Dan: Husim.

24 A nd the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.

Los hijos de Neftalí: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer y Silem.

25 T hese are the sons of Bilhah, who Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she gave birth to these unto Jacob; in all seven souls.

26 A ll the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were sixty-six;

Todas las personas de la familia de Jacob, que vinieron a Egipto, descendientes directos suyos, no incluyendo las mujeres de los hijos de Jacob, eran en total sesenta y seis personas.

27 a nd the sons of Joseph, who were born him in Egypt, were two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob, who came into Egypt, were seventy.

28 ¶ And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.

Y Jacob envió a Judá delante de sí a José, para indicar delante de él el camino a Gosén; y llegaron a la tierra de Gosén.

29 A nd Joseph made ready his chariot and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and manifested himself unto him; and he fell on his neck and wept on his neck a good while.

Y José unció su carro y subió a Gosén para ir al encuentro de su padre Israel; y apenas lo vio, se echó sobre su cuello y lloró largamente sobre su cuello.

30 T hen Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die since I have seen thy face because thou art yet alive.

31 A nd Joseph said unto his brethren and unto his father’s house, I will go up and tell Pharaoh and say unto him, My brethren and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;

Y José dijo a sus hermanos y a la familia de su padre: Subiré y lo haré saber a Faraón, y le diré: “Mis hermanos y la familia de mi padre, que estaban en la tierra de Canaán, han venido a mí;

32 a nd the men are pastors of sheep, for their trade has been to feed livestock; and they have brought their sheep and their cows and all that they have.

y los hombres son pastores de ovejas, pues son hombres de ganado; y han traído sus ovejas y sus vacas, y todo lo que tienen.”

33 A nd it shall come to pass when Pharaoh shall call you and shall say, What is your occupation?

Y sucederá que cuando Faraón os llame y os diga: “¿Cuál es vuestra ocupación ?”,

34 T hen ye shall say, Thy slaves’ trade has been about livestock from our youth even until now, both we and also our fathers, that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every pastor of sheep is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

vosotros responderéis: “Tus siervos han sido hombres de ganado desde su juventud hasta ahora, tanto nosotros como nuestros padres ”, a fin de que habitéis en la tierra de Gosén; porque para los egipcios todo pastor de ovejas es una abominación.
