1 ¶ Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

Abre tus puertas, Líbano, y consuma el fuego tus cedros.

2 H owl, fir tree, for the cedar is fallen because the magnificent are cut down; howl, O ye oaks of Bashan, for the strong mountain is brought down.

Gime, ciprés, porque ha caído el cedro, porque los árboles majestuosos han sido derribados; gemid, encinas de Basán, porque ha caído el bosque impenetrable.

3 T here is a voice of the howling of the pastors; for their magnificence is destroyed; a voice of the roaring of young lions, for the pride of the Jordan is destroyed.

Voz de gemido de pastores, porque su esplendor está arruinado; voz del rugido de leoncillos, porque derribada está la gloria del Jordán. El buen pastor y el falso

4 ¶ Thus hath the LORD my God said, Feed the flock of the slaughter,

Así dice el Señor mi Dios: Apacienta las ovejas destinadas para la matanza.

5 w hose buyers slayed them and held themselves not guilty; and he that sold them said, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and not even their own shepherds had compassion on them.

Los que las compran las matan y salen impunes, y el que las vende dice: “¡Bendito sea el Señor, porque me he enriquecido!”; y ni sus propios pastores se compadecen de ellas.

6 T herefore I will no longer pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD; but, behold, I will deliver the men each one into his neighbour’s hand and into the hand of his king; and they shall smite the land, and I will not deliver them out of their hands.

Pues yo no me compadeceré más de los habitantes de esta tierra —declara el Señor — sino que he aquí, haré que los hombres caigan cada uno en manos de otro y en manos de su rey; y ellos herirán la tierra y yo no los libraré de sus manos.

7 A nd I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. For I took unto me two staves: the one I named Beauty, and the other Bands; and I fed the flock.

Apacenté, pues, las ovejas destinadas para la matanza, esto es, los afligidos del rebaño. Y tomé para mí dos cayados: a uno lo llamé Gracia y al otro lo llamé Unión; y apacenté las ovejas.

8 I also cut off three shepherds in one month; and my soul was in anguish for them, and their soul also abhorred me.

Y destruí a los tres pastores en un mes, pues mi alma se impacientó con ellos y su alma también se cansó de mí.

9 T hen I said, I will not feed you any longer; the one that dies, let it die; and the one that is to be lost, let it be lost; and let the rest eat each one the flesh of another.

Entonces dije: No os apacentaré más. La que ha de morir, que muera; y la que ha de ser destruida, que sea destruida; y las que queden, cómanse la carne unas a otras.

10 A nd I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the peoples.

Y tomé mi cayado Gracia y lo quebré para romper el pacto que yo había hecho con todos los pueblos.

11 A nd it was broken in that day; and so the poor of the flock that look unto me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

Y fue roto aquel día; así los afligidos del rebaño que me observaban, conocieron que era la palabra del Señor.

12 A nd I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my wages; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver.

Y les dije: Si os parece bien, dad me mi paga; y si no, dejadla. Y pesaron como mi salario treinta piezas de plata.

13 A nd the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the treasury: a goodly price that I was appraised at by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver and cast them in the house of the LORD unto the treasury.

Entonces el Señor me dijo: Arrójalo al alfarero ( ese magnífico precio con que me valoraron). Tomé pues, las treinta piezas de plata y las arrojé al alfarero en la casa del Señor.

14 T hen I cut asunder my other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

Y quebré mi segundo cayado, Unión, para romper la hermandad entre Judá e Israel.

15 ¶ And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

Y el Señor me dijo: Toma otra vez los aperos de un pastor insensato.

16 F or, behold, I raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that are lost, neither shall seek the young one nor heal the one that is broken nor carry the one that is tired, but he shall eat the flesh of the fat and tear their hoofs in pieces.

Porque he aquí, yo voy a levantar en la tierra un pastor que no se preocupará de la que perece, ni buscará a la descarriada, ni curará a la herida, ni sustentará a la fuerte, sino que comerá la carne de la cebada y arrancará sus pezuñas.

17 W oe to the useless pastor that leaves the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm and upon his right eye; his arm shall be completely dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

¡Ay del pastor inútil que abandona el rebaño! ¡ Caiga la espada sobre su brazo y sobre su ojo derecho! Su brazo se secará por completo, y su ojo derecho totalmente se oscurecerá.
