1 ¶ And it shall come to pass when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse which I have set before thee, and thou shalt return unto thy heart among all the Gentiles, where the LORD thy God shall have driven thee,

Y sucederá que cuando todas estas cosas hayan venido sobre ti, la bendición y la maldición que he puesto delante de ti, y tú las recuerdes en todas las naciones adonde el Señor tu Dios te haya desterrado,

2 a nd shalt convert unto the LORD thy God and shalt hear his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart and with all thy soul,

y vuelvas al Señor tu Dios, tú y tus hijos, y le obedezcas con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma conforme a todo lo que yo te ordeno hoy,

3 t hen the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity and have mercy upon thee and will return and gather thee from all the peoples where the LORD thy God has scattered thee.

entonces el Señor tu Dios te hará volver de tu cautividad, y tendrá compasión de ti y te recogerá de nuevo de entre todos los pueblos adonde el Señor tu Dios te haya dispersado.

4 I f thou hast been driven out unto the outmost parts of the heavens, from there will the LORD thy God gather thee and from there will he take thee;

Si tus desterrados están en los confines de la tierra, de allí el Señor tu Dios te recogerá y de allí te hará volver.

5 a nd the LORD thy God will return thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt inherit it; and he will do thee good and multiply thee more than thy fathers.

Y el Señor tu Dios te llevará a la tierra que tus padres poseyeron, y tú la poseerás; y El te prosperará y te multiplicará más que a tus padres.

6 A nd the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul, that thou may live.

Además, el Señor tu Dios circuncidará tu corazón y el corazón de tus descendientes, para que ames al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma, a fin de que vivas.

7 A nd the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies and on those that hate thee, who persecuted thee.

El Señor tu Dios pondrá todas estas maldiciones sobre los enemigos y sobre los aborrecedores que te persiguieron.

8 A nd thou shalt return and thou shalt hear the voice of the LORD and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

Y tú volverás a escuchar la voz del Señor, y guardarás todos sus mandamientos que yo te ordeno hoy.

9 A nd the LORD thy God will make thee abound in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body and in the fruit of thy beasts and in the fruit of thy land, for good; for the LORD will turn to rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers,

Entonces el Señor tu Dios te hará prosperar abundantemente en toda la obra de tu mano, en el fruto de tu vientre, en el fruto de tu ganado y en el producto de tu tierra, pues el Señor de nuevo se deleitará en ti para bien, tal como se deleitó en tus padres,

10 w hen thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, when thou shalt turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul.

si obedeces a la voz del Señor tu Dios, guardando sus mandamientos y sus estatutos que están escritos en este libro de la ley, y si te vuelves al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma.

11 ¶ For this commandment which I command thee today is not hidden unto thee, neither is it far off.

Este mandamiento que yo te ordeno hoy no es muy difícil para ti, ni está fuera de tu alcance.

12 I t is not in heaven, that thou should say, Who shall go up for us to heaven and take it for us and recite it unto us, that we may fulfil it?

No está en el cielo, para que digas: “¿Quién subirá por nosotros al cielo para traérnoslo y hacérnoslo oír a fin de que lo guardemos ?”

13 N either is it beyond the sea, that thou should say, Who shall go over the sea for us and take it for us and recite it unto us, that we may fulfil it?

Ni está más allá del mar, para que digas: “¿Quién cruzará el mar por nosotros para traérnoslo y para hacérnoslo oír, a fin de que lo guardemos?”

14 B ut the word is very near unto thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart that thou may fulfil it.

Pues la palabra está muy cerca de ti, en tu boca y en tu corazón, para que la guardes.

15 ¶ See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

Mira, yo he puesto hoy delante de ti la vida y el bien, la muerte y el mal;

16 f or I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his rights, that thou may live and be multiplied; and may the LORD thy God bless thee in the land into which thou dost enter to inherit it.

pues te ordeno hoy amar al Señor tu Dios, andar en sus caminos y guardar sus mandamientos, sus estatutos y sus decretos, para que vivas y te multipliques, a fin de que el Señor tu Dios te bendiga en la tierra que vas a entrar para poseerla.

17 B ut if thine heart turns away so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away and worship other gods and serve them,

Pero si tu corazón se desvía y no escuchas, sino que te dejas arrastrar y te postras ante otros dioses y los sirves,

18 I declare unto you this day that ye shall surely perish and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, to go unto which thou passest the Jordan to inherit it.

yo os declaro hoy que ciertamente pereceréis. No prolongaréis vuestros días en la tierra adonde tú vas, cruzando el Jordán para entrar en ella y poseerla.

19 I call the heavens and the earth to witness today against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life that both thou and thy seed may live,

Al cielo y a la tierra pongo hoy como testigos contra vosotros de que he puesto ante ti la vida y la muerte, la bendición y la maldición. Escoge, pues, la vida para que vivas, tú y tu descendencia,

20 t hat thou may love the LORD thy God and that thou may hear his voice and that thou may cleave unto him; for he is thy life and the length of thy days that thou may dwell in the land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob, to give them.

amando al Señor tu Dios, escuchando su voz y allegándote a El; porque eso es tu vida y la largura de tus días, para que habites en la tierra que el Señor juró dar a tus padres Abraham, Isaac y Jacob.
