1 ¶ Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

He aquí, no se ha acortado la mano del Señor para salvar; ni se ha endurecido su oído para oír.

2 B ut your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Pero vuestras iniquidades han hecho separación entre vosotros y vuestro Dios, y vuestros pecados le han hecho esconder su rostro de vosotros para no escuchar os.

3 F or your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips pronounce lies; your tongue speaks evil.

Porque vuestras manos están manchadas de sangre, y vuestros dedos de iniquidad; vuestros labios hablan mentira, vuestra lengua murmura maldad.

4 N o one calls for righteousness, nor do any judge by the truth; they trust in vanity, and speak vanities; they conceive trouble and bring forth iniquity.

No hay quien clame con justicia ni quien abogue con honestidad. Confían en la confusión, y hablan falsedades; conciben malicia, y dan a luz iniquidad.

5 T hey hatch cockatrice’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; whosoever shall eat of their eggs shall die, and if they should squeeze them, a viper shall come out.

Incuban huevos de áspides y tejen telas de araña; el que come de sus huevos muere, y del que es aplastado sale una víbora.

6 T heir cloth is unfit to be a garment, neither shall they cover themselves with their works; their works are works of violence, and the work of iniquity is in their hands.

Sus telas no servirán de vestidos, ni se cubrirán con sus obras; sus obras son obras de iniquidad, y actos de violencia hay en sus manos.

7 T heir feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are their paths.

Sus pies corren al mal, y se apresuran a derramar sangre inocente; sus pensamientos son pensamientos de iniquidad, desolación y destrucción hay en sus caminos.

8 T he way of peace they did not know; nor is there anything straight about their ways; they have wilfully made themselves crooked paths; whosoever goes therein shall not know peace.

Camino de paz no conocen, y no hay justicia en sus senderos; han torcido a su favor las sendas, cualquiera que ande en ellas no conoce la paz.

9 ¶ Therefore judgment has withdrawn from us, and righteousness has never overtaken us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

Por tanto el derecho está lejos de nosotros, y no nos alcanza la justicia; esperamos luz, y he aquí tinieblas, claridad, pero andamos en oscuridad.

10 W e grope for the wall like the blind, and as if we had no eyes we walk by touch; we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in graves as dead men.

Vamos palpando la pared como ciegos, y andamos a tientas como los que no tienen ojos; tropezamos al mediodía como al anochecer, entre los robustos somos como muertos.

11 W e all roar like bears and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for saving health, but it has withdrawn from us.

Todos nosotros gruñimos como osos, y gemimos tristemente como palomas; esperamos la justicia, pero no la hay, la salvación, pero está lejos de nosotros.

12 F or our rebellions are multiplied before thee, and our sins have testified against us; for our iniquities are with us; and we know our sins:

Porque se han multiplicado nuestras transgresiones delante de ti, y nuestros pecados testifican contra nosotros; porque nuestras transgresiones están con nosotros, y conocemos nuestras iniquidades:

13 T o rebel and to lie against the LORD, and to depart away from our God; the speaking of libel and rebellion, to conceive, and to speak from the heart words of falsehood,

transgredir y negar al Señor, apartarse de nuestro Dios, hablar de opresión y rebelión, concebir y proferir en el corazón palabras mentirosas.

14 a nd that which is right has departed, and righteousness withdrew afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity could not enter.

Se ha vuelto atrás el derecho, y la justicia permanece lejos; porque ha tropezado en la plaza la verdad, y la rectitud no puede entrar.

15 A nd the truth was taken captive; and he that departed from evil was imprisoned: and the LORD saw it, and it was displeasing in his eyes because that which is right was lost.

Sí, falta la verdad, y el que se aparta del mal es hecho presa. Y lo vio el Señor, y desagradó a sus ojos que no hubiera derecho.

16 ¶ And he saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore his arm brought salvation unto him, and his righteous ness, it sustained him.

Vio que no había nadie, y se asombró de que no hubiera quien intercediera. Entonces su brazo le trajo salvación, y su justicia le sostuvo.

17 F or he put on righteousness as a coat of mail, and a helmet of saving health upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a cloak,

Se puso la justicia como coraza, y el yelmo de salvación en su cabeza; como vestidura se puso ropas de venganza, y se envolvió de celo como de un manto.

18 s o as to give payment, so as to repay the vengeance of his enemies, and repay his adversaries; to the islands he will give recompense.

Conforme a los hechos, así El pagará: furor para sus adversarios, justo pago para sus enemigos; a las islas dará su pago.

19 S o shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he shall come like a violent river impelled by the breath of the LORD.

Y temerán desde el occidente el nombre del Señor y desde el nacimiento del sol su gloria, porque El vendrá como torrente impetuoso, que el viento del Señor impele.

20 A nd the Redeemer shall come to Zion and unto those that turn from the rebellion in Jacob, said the LORD.

Y vendrá un Redentor a Sion y a los que en Jacob se aparten de la transgresión —declara el Señor.

21 A nd this shall be my covenant with them, said the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words, which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from now on and for ever.

En cuanto a mí —dice el Señor —, este es mi pacto con ellos: Mi Espíritu que está sobre ti, y mis palabras que he puesto en tu boca, no se apartarán de tu boca, ni de la boca de tu descendencia, ni de la boca de la descendencia de tu descendencia —dice el Señor — desde ahora y para siempre.
