1 ¶ Aleph Do not be angry with the evildoers, neither be thou envious of the workers of iniquity.

No te irrites a causa de los malhechores; no tengas envidia de los que practican la iniquidad.

2 F or they shall soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb.

Porque como la hierba pronto se secarán, y se marchitarán como la hierba verde.

3 B eth Wait in the LORD and do good; live in the land and uphold the truth.

Confía en el Señor, y haz el bien; habita en la tierra, y cultiva la fidelidad.

4 I n the same manner delight thyself in the LORD, and he shall give thee the desires of thy heart.

Pon tu delicia en el Señor, y El te dará las peticiones de tu corazón.

5 G imel Turn thy way unto the LORD and wait in him, and he shall bring it to pass.

Encomienda al Señor tu camino, confía en El, que El actuará;

6 A nd he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light and thy uprightness as the noonday.

hará resplandecer tu justicia como la luz, y tu derecho como el mediodía.

7 ¶ Daleth Be silent before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not be angry with him who prospers in his way, with the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

Confía callado en el Señor y espérale con paciencia; no te irrites a causa del que prospera en su camino, por el hombre que lleva a cabo sus intrigas.

8 H e Cease from anger and forsake wrath: let not thy wrath in any wise cause you to become evil.

Deja la ira y abandona el furor; no te irrites, sólo harías lo malo.

9 F or evildoers shall be cut off; but those that wait for the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Porque los malhechores serán exterminados, mas los que esperan en el Señor poseerán la tierra.

10 V au For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be; thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

Un poco más y no existirá el impío; buscarás con cuidado su lugar, pero él no estará allí.

11 B ut the meek shall inherit the earth and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Mas los humildes poseerán la tierra, y se deleitarán en abundante prosperidad.

12 Z ain The wicked plots against the just and gnashes upon him with his teeth.

El impío trama contra el justo, y contra él rechina sus dientes.

13 T he Lord shall laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.

El Señor se ríe de él, porque ve que su día se acerca.

14 H e The wicked have drawn out the sword and have bent their bow to cast down the poor and needy and to slay such as are of upright conversation.

Los impíos han sacado la espada y entesado el arco, para abatir al afligido y al necesitado, para matar a los de recto proceder.

15 T heir sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bow shall be broken.

Su espada penetrará en su propio corazón, y sus arcos serán quebrados.

16 T et A little that a righteous man has is better than the many riches of the sinners.

Mejor es lo poco del justo que la abundancia de muchos impíos.

17 F or the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.

Porque los brazos de los impíos serán quebrados; mas el Señor sostiene a los justos.

18 J od The LORD knows the days of the perfect, and their inheritance shall be for ever.

El Señor conoce los días de los íntegros, y su herencia será perpetua.

19 T hey shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

No serán avergonzados en el tiempo malo, y en días de hambre se saciarán.

20 C aph But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD as the fattest of rams shall be consumed; as smoke they shall fade away.

Pero los impíos perecerán, y los enemigos del Señor serán como la hermosura de los prados; desaparecen, se desvanecen como el humo.

21 ¶ Lamed The wicked borrows and does not repay: but the righteous shows mercy and gives.

El impío pide prestado y no paga, mas el justo es compasivo y da.

22 F or such as are blessed of him shall inherit the earth, and those that are cursed of him shall be cut off.

Porque los que son bendecidos por el Señor poseerán la tierra, pero los maldecidos por El serán exterminados.

23 M em The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and he delights in his way.

Por el Señor son ordenados los pasos del hombre, y el Señor se deleita en su camino.

24 T hough he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

Cuando caiga, no quedará derribado, porque el Señor sostiene su mano.

25 N un I have been young and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Yo fui joven, y ya soy viejo, y no he visto al justo desamparado, ni a su descendencia mendigando pan.

26 H e is ever merciful and lends, and his seed is a blessing.

Todo el día es compasivo y presta, y su descendencia es para bendición.

27 S amech Depart from evil, and do good, and thou shalt live for evermore.

Apártate del mal y haz el bien, y tendrás morada para siempre.

28 F or the LORD loves uprightness and does not forsake his merciful ones; they are preserved for ever, but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

Porque el Señor ama la justicia, y no abandona a sus santos; ellos son preservados para siempre, pero la descendencia de los impíos será exterminada.

29 A in The righteous shall inherit the earth and live upon it for ever.

Los justos poseerán la tierra, y para siempre morarán en ella.

30 P e The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue brings forth judgment.

La boca del justo profiere sabiduría y su lengua habla rectitud.

31 T he law of his God is in his heart; therefore none of his steps shall slide.

La ley de su Dios está en su corazón; no vacilan sus pasos.

32 T zaddi The wicked watches the righteous and seeks to slay him.

El impío acecha al justo y procura matarlo.

33 T he LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

El Señor no dejará al justo en sus manos, ni permitirá que lo condenen cuando sea juzgado.

34 ¶ Koph Wait on the LORD and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the earth; when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

Espera en el Señor y guarda su camino, y El te exaltará para que poseas la tierra; cuando los impíos sean exterminados, tú lo verás.

35 R esh I have seen the wicked in great power and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

He visto al impío, violento, extenderse como frondoso árbol en su propio suelo.

36 Y et he passed away, and, behold, he was not: I sought him, but he could not be found.

Luego pasó, y he aquí, ya no estaba; lo busqué, pero no se le halló.

37 S chin Mark the perfect, and behold the upright, for the end of each one of them is peace.

Observa al que es íntegro, mira al que es recto; porque el hombre de paz tendrá descendencia.

38 B ut the rebels were destroyed all together; the wicked were cut off in the end.

Pero los transgresores serán destruidos a una; la posteridad de los impíos será exterminada.

39 T au But the salvation of the righteous is the LORD; he is their strength in the time of trouble.

Mas la salvación de los justos viene del Señor; El es su fortaleza en el tiempo de la angustia.

40 A nd the LORD helped them and delivers them; he shall deliver them from the wicked and save them because they wait in him.

El Señor los ayuda y los libra; los libra de los impíos y los salva, porque en El se refugian.
