1 ¶ In the year seventeen of Pekah, the son of Remaliah, Ahaz, the son of Jotham, king of Judah, began to reign.

En el año diecisiete de Peka, hijo de Remalías, comenzó a reinar Acaz, hijo de Jotam, rey de Judá.

2 A haz was twenty years old when he began to reign and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem and did not do that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God like David, his father.

Acaz tenía veinte años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dieciséis años en Jerusalén; pero no hizo lo recto ante los ojos del Señor su Dios como su padre David había hecho,

3 B ut he walked in the way of the kings of Israel and even made his son pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the Gentiles, whom the LORD cast out from before the sons of Israel.

sino que anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, y aun hizo pasar a su hijo por el fuego, conforme a las abominaciones de las naciones que el Señor había arrojado de delante de los hijos de Israel.

4 L ikewise he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places and on the hills and under every green tree.

Y sacrificó y quemó incienso en los lugares altos, en las colinas y debajo de todo árbol frondoso.

5 ¶ Then Rezin, king of Syria, and Pekah, son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to war; and they besieged Ahaz but could not overcome him.

Entonces Rezín, rey de Aram, y Peka, hijo de Remalías, rey de Israel, subieron a Jerusalén para hacer guerra y sitiaron a Acaz; pero no lo podían vencer.

6 A t that time Rezin, king of Syria, recovered Elath to Syria and drove the Jews from Elath; and the Syrians came to Elath and dwelt there unto this day.

En aquel tiempo Rezín, rey de Aram, recuperó a Elat para Aram, y echó a los judíos de Elat completamente; y los arameos vinieron a Elat y allí han morado hasta hoy.

7 S o Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser, king of Assyria, saying, I am thy slave and thy son; come up and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who have risen up against me.

Y envió Acaz mensajeros a Tiglat-pileser, rey de Asiria, diciendo: Yo soy tu siervo y tu hijo; sube y líbrame de la mano del rey de Aram y de la mano del rey de Israel que se han levantado contra mí.

8 A nd Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD and in the treasury of the king’s house and sent it for a bribe to the king of Assyria.

Y Acaz tomó la plata y el oro que se hallaba en la casa del Señor y en los tesoros de la casa del rey, y envió un presente al rey de Asiria.

9 A nd the king of Assyria hearkened unto him, for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus and took it and carried the people of it captive to Kir and slew Rezin.

El rey de Asiria lo escuchó, y el rey de Asiria subió contra Damasco y la tomó, y se llevó a su pueblo al destierro en Kir, y dio muerte a Rezín.

10 ¶ And King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser, King of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah, the priest, the fashion of the altar and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship of it.

Y el rey Acaz fue a Damasco a ver a Tiglat-pileser, rey de Asiria, y vio el altar que estaba en Damasco; y el rey Acaz envió al sacerdote Urías el diseño del altar y su réplica, conforme a toda su hechura.

11 A nd Urijah, the priest, built an altar according to all that King Ahaz had sent from Damascus; so Urijah, the priest, made it while King Ahaz returned from Damascus.

Y el sacerdote Urías edificó un altar; conforme a todo lo que el rey Acaz había enviado de Damasco, así lo hizo el sacerdote Urías antes del regreso del rey Acaz de Damasco.

12 A nd when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar; and the king came near to the altar and offered upon it.

Cuando vino el rey de Damasco y vio el altar, el rey se acercó al altar y subió hasta él;

13 A nd he burnt his burnt offering and his present and poured his drink offering and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, next to the altar.

quemó su holocausto y su ofrenda de cereal, derramó su libación y roció la sangre de sus ofrendas de paz sobre el altar;

14 A nd the brasen altar which had been before the LORD, he caused to be moved in front of the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the LORD, and he put it beside the altar towards the Aquilon.

y el altar de bronce, que estaba delante del Señor, lo trajo de delante de la casa, de entre su altar y la casa del Señor, y lo puso al lado norte de su altar.

15 A nd King Ahaz commanded Urijah, the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering and the evening present and the king’s burnt sacrifice and his present, and likewise the burnt offering of all the people of the land and their present and their drink offerings, and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering and all the blood of the sacrifice; and the brasen altar shall be mine to enquire by.

Entonces el rey Acaz dio órdenes al sacerdote Urías, diciendo: Quema sobre el gran altar el holocausto de la mañana y la ofrenda de cereal de la tarde, el holocausto del rey y su ofrenda de cereal, con el holocausto de todo el pueblo de la tierra y con su ofrenda de cereal y sus libaciones; y rocía sobre él toda la sangre del holocausto y toda la sangre del sacrificio. Pero el altar de bronce será para mí para consultar.

16 T hus did Urijah, the priest, according to all that King Ahaz commanded him.

Y el sacerdote Urías hizo conforme a todo lo que el rey Acaz le había ordenado.

17 ¶ And King Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases and removed the lavers from off them and took down the sea from off the brasen oxen that were under it and put it upon a pavement of stones.

Entonces el rey Acaz cortó los bordes de las basas, y quitó de ellas la pila; también bajó el mar de sobre los bueyes de bronce que estaban debajo de él y lo puso sobre un enlosado de piedra.

18 A nd the covert for the sabbath that they had built in the house and the king’s entry outside, he moved behind the house of the LORD, for the sake of the king of Assyria.

Y el pórtico para el día de reposo, que habían edificado en la casa, y la entrada exterior del rey, los quitó de la casa del Señor a causa del rey de Asiria.

19 N ow the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Los demás hechos de Acaz, lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá ?

20 A nd Ahaz slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Hezekiah, his son, reigned in his stead.

Y durmió Acaz con sus padres, y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David; y su hijo Ezequías reinó en su lugar.
