1 ¶ O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee; I will praise thy name for thou hast done wonders, the counsels of old, the truth unchanging.

Oh Señor, tú eres mi Dios; te ensalzaré, daré alabanzas a tu nombre, porque has hecho maravillas, designios concebidos desde tiempos antiguos con toda fidelidad.

2 T hat thou hast turned the city into a heap; the defenced city into a ruin: the palace of strangers to not be a city; it shall never be rebuilt.

Porque has convertido la ciudad en un montón de escombros, la ciudad fortificada, en una ruina; el palacio de extranjeros ya no es ciudad, nunca será reedificado.

3 T herefore the strong people shall glorify thee; the city of the strong Gentiles shall fear thee.

Por eso te glorificará un pueblo fuerte, ciudades de crueles naciones te reverenciarán.

4 F or thou hast been strength to the poor, strength to the needy in his distress, refuge from the storm, shadow from the heat, for the force of the violent is as a storm against the wall.

Porque tú has sido baluarte para el desvalido, baluarte para el necesitado en su angustia, refugio contra la tormenta, sombra contra el calor; pues el aliento de los crueles es como turbión contra el muro.

5 A s the heat in a dry place, thou shalt bring down the pride of the strangers; even as with heat that burns beneath a cloud, thou shalt cause the offshoot of the stout ones to wither.

Como calor durante la sequía, tú aquietas el estruendo de los extranjeros; como el calor a la sombra de una nube, es acallado el cántico de los tiranos.

6 ¶ And in this mountain the LORD of the hosts shall make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of purified wines, of fat things full of marrow, of purified liquids.

Y el Señor de los ejércitos preparará en este monte para todos los pueblos un banquete de manjares suculentos, un banquete de vino añejo, pedazos escogidos con tuétano, y vino añejo refinado.

7 A nd he will undo in this mountain the mask of the covering with which all the peoples are covered and the veil that is extended over all the Gentiles.

Y destruirá en este monte la cobertura que cubre todos los pueblos, el velo que está extendido sobre todas las naciones.

8 H e will destroy death forever; and the Lord GOD shall wipe away every tear from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people he shall take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has determined it.

El destruirá la muerte para siempre; el Señor Dios enjugará las lágrimas de todos los rostros, y quitará el oprobio de su pueblo de sobre toda la tierra, porque el Señor ha hablado.

9 ¶ And it shall be said in that day, Behold, this is our God, whom we have waited for, and he has saved us: this is the LORD, whom we have waited for, we will be glad and rejoice in his saving health.

Y en aquel día se dirá: He aquí, éste es nuestro Dios a quien hemos esperado para que nos salvara; éste es el Señor a quien hemos esperado; regocijémonos y alegrémonos en su salvación.

10 F or in this mountain the hand of the LORD shall rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.

Porque la mano del Señor reposará en este monte, y Moab será hollado en su sitio como es hollada la paja en el agua del muladar.

11 A nd he shall extend his hand in the midst of him as he that swims spreads forth his hand to swim: and he shall bring down his pride with the members of his hands

Y en medio de él, Moab extenderá sus manos como el nadador extiende sus manos para nadar, pero el Señor abatirá su arrogancia y la destreza de sus manos.

12 a nd lay siege to the fortress of thy high walls; he shall humble it and bring it down to the ground, even to the dust.

Y derribará las fortalezas inexpugnables de tus murallas, las humillará y las echará por tierra, hasta el polvo.
