1 ¶ For regarding the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:

Porque me es por demás escribiros acerca de este servicio a los santos;

2 F or I know your ready desire, for which I gloried of you to those of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago, and your zeal has provoked many.

pues conozco vuestra buena disposición, de la que me glorío por vosotros ante los macedonios, es decir, que Acaya ha estado preparada desde el año pasado; y vuestro celo ha estimulado a la mayoría de ellos.

3 Y et I have sent the brethren lest our glorying of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready,

Pero he enviado a los hermanos para que nuestra jactancia acerca de vosotros no sea hecha vana en este caso, a fin de que, como decía, estéis preparados;

4 l est haply if those of Macedonia come with me and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed of this our confidence.

no sea que algunos macedonios vayan conmigo y os encuentren desprevenidos, y nosotros (por no decir vosotros) seamos avergonzados por esta confianza.

5 T herefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would first go unto you and prepare beforehand your blessing, of which ye had given notice before that the same might be ready as a blessing, and not as of covetousness.

Así que creí necesario exhortar a los hermanos a que se adelantaran en ir a vosotros, y prepararan de antemano vuestra generosa ofrenda, ya prometida, para que la misma estuviera lista como ofrenda generosa, y no como por codicia. Recompensa de la liberalidad

6 ¶ But this I say, He who sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he who sows in blessings shall also reap blessings.

Pero esto digo: El que siembra escasamente, escasamente también segará; y el que siembra abundantemente, abundantemente también segará.

7 E ach one according as they purpose in their heart, so let them give, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Que cada uno dé como propuso en su corazón, no de mala gana ni por obligación, porque Dios ama al dador alegre.

8 A nd God is able to make all grace abound in you that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Y Dios puede hacer que toda gracia abunde para vosotros, a fin de que teniendo siempre todo lo suficiente en todas las cosas, abundéis para toda buena obra;

9 A s it is written, He has dispersed abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains for ever.

como está escrito: El esparcio, dio a los pobres; su justicia permanece para siempre.

10 N ow he that supplies seed to the sower shall also supply bread for food and shall multiply your seed sown and shall increase the growing of the fruits of your righteousness,

Y el que suministra semilla al sembrador y pan para su alimento, suplirá y multiplicará vuestra sementera y aumentará la siega de vuestra justicia;

11 s o that being enriched in everything to all generosity, which works out through us thanksgiving unto God.

seréis enriquecidos en todo para toda liberalidad, la cual por medio de nosotros produce acción de gracias a Dios.

12 F or the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also abounds in much thanksgiving unto God;

Porque la ministración de este servicio no sólo suple con plenitud lo que falta a los santos, sino que también sobreabunda a través de muchas acciones de gracias a Dios.

13 t hat by the experience of this ministration, they glorify God for the obedience of your consent unto the gospel of the Christ and in your liberal distribution unto them and unto everyone,

Por la prueba dada por esta ministración, glorificarán a Dios por vuestra obediencia a vuestra confesión del evangelio de Cristo, y por la liberalidad de vuestra contribución para ellos y para todos;

14 a nd in their prayer for you, for they love you because of the eminent grace of God in you.

mientras que también ellos, mediante la oración a vuestro favor, demuestran su anhelo por vosotros debido a la sobreabundante gracia de Dios en vosotros.

15 T hanks be unto God for his indescribable gift.

¡Gracias a Dios por su don inefable!
