1 ¶ Again the word of the LORD of the hosts came to me, saying,

Recibí de Jehová de los ejércitos esta palabra:

2 T hus hath the LORD of the hosts said, I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.

«Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Celé a Sión con gran celo, y con gran ira la celé.

3 T hus hath the LORD said, I will restore Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and Jerusalem shall be called City of truth and the mountain of the LORD of the hosts, the mountain of holiness.

»Así dice Jehová: »Yo he restaurado a Sión y habitaré en medio de Jerusalén. Jerusalén se llamará ciudad de la Verdad, y el monte de Jehová de los ejércitos, monte de Santidad.

4 T hus hath the LORD of the hosts said; Old men and old women shall yet dwell there in the streets of Jerusalem, and each one with his staff in his hand for the multitude of the days.

»Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: »Aún han de morar ancianos y ancianas en las calles de Jerusalén, cada cual con un bastón en la mano por lo avanzado de su edad.

5 A nd the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls who shall play in them.

Y las calles de la ciudad estarán llenas de muchachos y muchachas que jugarán en ellas.

6 T hus saith the LORD of the hosts, If this should appear difficult in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be difficult in my eyes? saith the LORD of the hosts.

»Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: »Si esto parece imposible a los ojos del resto de este pueblo en aquellos días, ¿también será imposible para mí?, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

7 T hus hath the LORD of the hosts said; Behold, I will save my people of the land of the east and of the land where the sun sets;

»Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: »Yo salvo a mi pueblo de la tierra del oriente y de la tierra donde se pone el sol;

8 a nd I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

los traeré y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén. Ellos serán mi pueblo, y yo seré su Dios en verdad y en justicia.

9 ¶ Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, from the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of the hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.

»Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: »Cobrad ánimo, vosotros que oís en estos días estas palabras de la boca de los profetas, desde el día que se echó el cimiento a la casa de Jehová de los ejércitos, para edificar el Templo.

10 F or before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men each one against his neighbour.

Porque antes de estos días no ha habido paga de hombre ni paga de bestia, ni hubo paz para el que salía ni para el que entraba, a causa del enemigo, pues yo dejé que todos los hombres se enfrentaran unos con otros.

11 B ut now I will not do unto the residue of this people as in the former days, said the LORD of the hosts.

Mas ahora no haré con el resto de este pueblo como en aquellos pasados días, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

12 F or the seed of peace shall remain; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her fruit, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all this.

Porque habrá simiente de paz: la vid dará su fruto, la tierra, su producto, y los cielos, su rocío; y haré que el resto de este pueblo posea todo esto.

13 A nd it shall come to pass that as ye were a curse among the Gentiles, O house of Judah and house of Israel; so will I save you that ye might be a blessing; fear not, but let your hands be strong.

Y así como fuisteis maldición entre las naciones, casa de Judá y casa de Israel, así os salvaré y seréis bendición. ¡No temáis! ¡Cobrad ánimo!

14 F or thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, As I thought to punish you when your fathers provoked me to wrath, said the LORD of the hosts, and I did not repent:

»Porque así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Como pensé haceros mal cuando vuestros padres me provocaron a ira, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y no me arrepentí,

15 s o again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; do not fear.

así en cambio he pensado hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la casa de Judá en estos días. No temáis.

16 T hese are the things that ye shall do: Speak each one the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates;

Éstas son las cosas que habéis de hacer: Hablad verdad cada cual con su prójimo; juzgad según la verdad y lo conducente a la paz en vuestras puertas.

17 a nd let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, said the LORD.

Ninguno de vosotros piense mal en su corazón contra su prójimo, ni améis el juramento falso, porque todas éstas son cosas que aborrezco, dice Jehová.»

18 ¶ And the word of the LORD of the hosts came unto me, saying,

Recibí esta palabra de Jehová de los ejércitos:

19 T hus hath the LORD of the hosts said, The fast of the fourth month and the fast of the fifth and the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.

«Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Los ayunos del cuarto, el quinto, el séptimo, y el décimo mes, se convertirán para la casa de Judá en gozo y alegría, y en fiestas solemnes. Amad, pues, la verdad y la paz.

20 T hus hath the LORD of the hosts said, It shall yet come to pass that there shall come people and the inhabitants of many cities

»Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: »Aún vendrán pueblos y habitantes de muchas ciudades.

21 a nd the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go to pray before the LORD and to seek the LORD of the hosts. And the other will respond: I will go also.

Vendrán los habitantes de una ciudad a otra y dirán: “¡Vamos a implorar el favor de Jehová y a buscar a Jehová de los ejércitos!” ¡Yo también iré!

22 A nd many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of the hosts in Jerusalem and to pray before the LORD.

Y vendrán muchos pueblos y naciones poderosas a buscar a Jehová de los ejércitos en Jerusalén y a implorar el favor de Jehová.

23 T hus hath the LORD of the hosts said, In those days it shall come to pass that ten men of all the languages of the Gentiles shall take hold of the robe of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.

»Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: En aquellos días acontecerá que diez hombres de las naciones de toda lengua tomarán del manto a un judío, y le dirán: “Iremos con vosotros, porque hemos oído que Dios está con vosotros.”»
