1 S eñor, escucha mi oración; ¡deja que mi queja llegue a tus oídos!

¶ Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.

2 N o te alejes de mí cuando me veas angustiado; inclina a mí tu oído, ¡respóndeme pronto cuando te invoque!

Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me; in the day when I call, answer me speedily.

3 M i vida se va desvaneciendo, como el humo; mis huesos se deshacen, como tizón quemado.

For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as in a hearth.

4 D ébil está mi corazón, y seco cual la hierba; ¡hasta me he olvidado de comer!

My heart is smitten and withered like grass so that I forget to eat my bread.

5 T anto he llorado que los huesos se me pegan a la carne.

By reason of the voice of my groaning, my bones cleave to my skin.

6 S oy como los pelícanos del desierto; ¡soy como los búhos de las soledades!

I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am like an owl of the desert.

7 Y a no duermo, y hasta me siento como un pájaro solitario sobre el tejado.

I watch and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

8 T odos los días me insultan mis enemigos; se confabulan y hacen planes contra mí.

My enemies reproach me all the day, and those that are mad against me are sworn against me.

9 E l pan que como, me sabe a ceniza; lo que bebo, se mezcla con mis lágrimas.

For I have eaten ashes like bread and mingled my drink with weeping,

10 ¡ Y es porque estás enojado conmigo! ¡Primero me elevas, y luego me dejas caer!

because of thine indignation and thy wrath; for thou hast lifted me up and cast me down.

11 M i vida se diluye como una sombra; ¡me voy secando como la hierba!

My days are like a shadow that declines, and I am withered like grass.

12 P ero tú, Señor, permaneces para siempre, y todas las generaciones te recordarán.

¶ But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever and thy remembrance unto all generations.

13 T e levantarás y tendrás misericordia de Sión, porque ya se ha cumplido su tiempo; ¡ya es hora de que le tengas misericordia!

Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion; for the time to favour her, the set time, is come.

14 T us siervos aman cada una de sus piedras; ven sus ruinas, y se compadecen de ella.

For thy slaves love her stones and have compassion on the dust thereof.

15 S eñor, las naciones honrarán tu nombre; los reyes de la tierra reconocerán tu gloria,

So the Gentiles shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory

16 p orque tú, Señor, reconstruirás a Sión, y en su esplendor serás reconocido.

because the LORD shall have built up Zion, and he shall be seen in his glory.

17 T endrás en cuenta la oración de los pobres, y no dejarás de escuchar sus ruegos.

He shall have regarded the prayer of those who are alone and destitute and not despised their prayer.

18 E sto, Señor, quedará escrito para los pueblos futuros, ¡para que las generaciones del mañana te alaben!

This shall be written for the generation to come, and the people who shall be created shall praise JAH.

19 D esde su alto santuario, el Señor observa; desde los cielos, el Señor contempla la tierra

For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from the heavens the LORD beheld the earth

20 p ara oír el clamor de los cautivos y dar libertad a los sentenciados a muerte;

to hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death,

21 p ara que en Sión se anuncie el nombre del Señor, ¡para que en Jerusalén se proclame su alabanza!

that they might declare the name of the LORD in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem,

22 E ntonces todas las naciones y todos los reinos vendrán y se unirán para servir al Señor.

when the people are gathered together as one and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

23 E n mi camino, el Señor me retiró su apoyo; ¡me recortó los días de mi vida!

¶ He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

24 P ero yo le supliqué: «Dios mío, tú vives por todas las generaciones: ¡no me reduzcas la mitad de mi vida!

I said, O my God, do not cut me off in the midst of my days; thy years are from generation to generation.

25 T ú fundaste la tierra desde el principio, y con tus propias manos formaste los cielos.

Of old thou hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

26 U n día, ellos serán destruidos; envejecerán, como vestidos usados, y tú los cambiarás por otros; ¡Pero tú permanecerás!

They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture thou shalt change them, and they shall be changed:

27 ¡ Tú seguirás siendo el mismo, y tus años nunca tendrán fin!

But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

28 L os hijos de tus siervos vivirán tranquilos, y sus descendientes se afirmarán en tu presencia.

The sons of thy slaves shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.
