1 L a voz me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, ponte sobre tus pies, que voy a hablar contigo.»

¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak with thee.

2 T an pronto como me habló, el espíritu entró en mí y me hizo ponerme sobre mis pies, y oí que el que me hablaba

And spirit entered into me when he spoke unto me and set me upon my feet, and I heard him that spoke unto me.

3 m e decía: «Hijo de hombre, voy a enviarte a los hijos de Israel, un pueblo rebelde. Hasta el día de hoy, tanto ellos como sus padres se han rebelado contra mí.

And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the sons of Israel, to rebellious Gentiles that have rebelled against me: they and their fathers have rebelled against me, even unto this very day.

4 A sí que yo te envío a gente de rostro adusto y de corazón empedernido. Y les dirás: “Así ha dicho Dios el Señor.”

And to sons that have hard faces and strong hearts do I send thee; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath the Lord GOD said.

5 T al vez te harán caso. Pero si no lo hacen así, porque son gente rebelde, siempre sabrán que entre ellos hubo un profeta.

And they will not hear nor forbear (for they are a rebellious house), but they shall know that there has been a prophet among them.

6 P ero tú, hijo de hombre, no tengas miedo de ellos ni de sus palabras. Aunque estés entre zarzas y espinos, y habites entre escorpiones, no tengas miedo de ellos ni de sus palabras, porque son gente rebelde.

¶ And thou, son of man, do not be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, for they are rebels; though thou find thyself among thorns and thy dwelling be with briers, do not be afraid of their words, nor fear before them, for they are a rebellious house.

7 Y a sea que te escuchen o no, porque son muy rebeldes, tú repíteles mis palabras.

And thou shalt speak my words unto them, but they will not hear nor forbear, for they are rebels.

8 Y tú, hijo de hombre, escucha bien lo que te digo, y no seas rebelde como esa gente. Abre la boca, y come lo que voy a darte a comer.»

But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Do not be rebellious like the rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat what I give thee.

9 Y o miré, y vi que una mano se extendía hacia mí, y que en ella había un pergamino.

And I looked, and behold, a hand was sent unto me; and in it was the roll of a book,

10 L a mano lo extendió delante de mí, y vi que el pergamino tenía endechas, lamentaciones y ayes escritos por los dos lados.

and he spread it before me; and it was written within and without; and there was written therein lamentations and mourning and woes.
