1 P or esos días Merodac Baladán hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, se enteró de que Ezequías había estado enfermo, pero que ya había convalecido, así que le envió cartas y presentes.

¶ At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and presents to Hezekiah, for he had heard that he had been sick and was recovered.

2 E so fue motivo de mucha alegría para Ezequías, así que les mostró a los enviados la casa de su tesoro, el oro y la plata, las especias y los ungüentos preciosos, y todo su arsenal y lo que se hallaba en sus tesoros. No hubo nada en su casa y en todos sus dominios que Ezequías no les mostrara.

And Hezekiah rejoiced with them and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver and the gold and the spices and the precious ointments and all the house of his weapons and all that was found in his treasures; there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.

3 E ntonces el profeta Isaías fue a ver al rey Ezequías, y le dijo: «¿Qué quiere de ti esa gente? ¿De dónde ha venido?» Ezequías le respondió: «Han venido a verme desde un país muy lejano. Han venido de Babilonia.»

Then Isaiah the prophet came unto king Hezekiah and said unto him, What did these men say? and from where did they come unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.

4 I saías dijo entonces: «¿Y qué han visto en tu casa?» Y Ezequías contestó: «Han visto todo lo que hay en mi casa. No hay nada en mis tesoros que yo no les haya mostrado.»

Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in my house have they seen; there is nothing among my treasures that I have not showed them.

5 I saías le dijo entonces a Ezequías: «Oye la palabra del Señor de los ejércitos:

¶ Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of the hosts:

6 “ Vienen días en que todo lo que hay en tu casa, y todo lo que tus padres han atesorado hasta el día de hoy, será llevado a Babilonia; No quedará una sola cosa.” El Señor lo ha dicho.

Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

7 A los hijos que tengas y que engendres se los llevarán a Babilonia, y allí los convertirán en eunucos del palacio del rey.»

And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

8 E zequías le respondió a Isaías: «Es buena la palabra del Señor que me has comunicado. ¡Que al menos haya paz y seguridad mientras yo viva!»

Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, At least there shall be peace and truth in my days.
