1 Y sucedió en el año duodécimo, el mes duodécimo, el día primero del mes, que vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:

¶ And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 H ijo de hombre, eleva una elegía por Faraón, rey de Egipto, y dile: “Parecías un leoncillo de las naciones pero eras como el monstruo de los mares; prorrumpías en tus ríos, enturbiabas las aguas con tus pies y ensuciabas sus ríos.”

Son of man, raise up lamentations upon Pharaoh king of Egypt and say unto him, Thou art like a young lion of the nations, and thou art as the whale in the seas, that dost dry up thy rivers, and trouble the waters with thy feet, and foul their streams.

3 A sí dice el Señor Dios: Mi red sobre ti tenderé en compañía de muchos pueblos, y ellos te alzarán en mi red.

Thus hath the Lord GOD said: I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many peoples, and they shall bring thee up in my net.

4 T e dejaré en tierra, te echaré en campo abierto, y haré que habiten sobre ti todas las aves del cielo, y saciaré de ti a las bestias de toda la tierra.

Then I will leave thee upon the land; I will cast thee forth upon the open field and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.

5 P ondré tu carne sobre los montes, y llenaré los valles de tu carroña.

And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains and fill the valleys with thy height.

6 T ambién haré que la tierra se empape con el derramamiento de tu sangre hasta los montes, y las barrancas se llenarán de ti.

I will also water with thy blood the land in which thou dost swim, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee.

7 C uando te hayas extinguido, cubriré los cielos y oscureceré sus estrellas; cubriré el sol de nubes, y la luna no dará su luz.

And when thou art dead, I will cover the heavens and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

8 T odos los astros brillantes del cielo oscureceré por causa tuya, y pondré tinieblas sobre tu tierra —declara el Señor Dios.

All the bright lights of heaven I will make dark because of thee and set darkness upon thy land, said the Lord GOD.

9 T ambién turbaré el corazón de muchos pueblos, cuando haga llegar la noticia de tu destrucción entre las naciones hasta tierras que no has conocido.

I will also make the hearts of many peoples sad when I shall bring thy destruction upon the Gentiles, into the countries which thou hast not known.

10 Y haré que muchos pueblos se queden pasmados por causa tuya, y sus reyes en gran manera se aterrorizarán de ti cuando yo blanda mi espada ante ellos; temblarán constantemente, cada uno por su vida, el día de tu caída.

And I will make many peoples amazed at thee and their kings shall be horribly afraid because of thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

11 P ues así dice el Señor Dios: La espada del rey de Babilonia vendrá sobre ti.

For thus hath the Lord GOD said: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.

12 C on las espadas de los poderosos haré caer tu multitud, tiranos todos ellos de las naciones, que asolarán el orgullo de Egipto, y toda su multitud será destruida.

By the swords of the mighty I will cause thy people to fall; they shall all be the strong of the Gentiles and they shall destroy the pride of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be undone.

13 T ambién destruiré todo su ganado junto a aguas abundantes; no las enturbiará más pie de hombre, ni pezuñas de animales las enturbiarán.

I will also destroy all the beasts thereof from upon the many waters; neither shall the foot of man, nor the hoofs of beasts foul them any more.

14 E ntonces haré asentarse sus aguas, y haré correr sus ríos como el aceite —declara el Señor Dios.

Then I will make their waters deepen and cause their channels to run like oil, said the Lord GOD.

15 C uando yo haga de la tierra de Egipto una desolación, y la tierra quede despojada de lo que la llenaba, cuando yo hiera a todos los que en ella viven, entonces sabrán que yo soy el Señor.

When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate and the fullness of the land shall be taken away when I shall smite all those that dwell therein, then they shall know that I am the LORD.

16 E sta es la lamentación y la cantarán; las hijas de las naciones la cantarán. Sobre Egipto y sobre toda su multitud la cantarán —declara el Señor Dios.

This is the lamentation, and they shall sing it; the daughters of the Gentiles shall sing it: they shall lament over Egypt and over all her multitude, said the Lord GOD.

17 Y sucedió en el año duodécimo, el quince del mes, que vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:

¶ It also came to pass in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

18 H ijo de hombre, laméntate por la multitud de Egipto, hazla descender, a ella y a las hijas de las naciones poderosas, a las profundidades de la tierra, con los que descienden a la fosa;

Son of man, lament over the multitude of Egypt and cast him down and the habitations of the strong Gentiles into the lower parts of the earth with those that go down into the grave.

19 “ ¿A quién superas en hermosura? Desciende, y yace con los incircuncisos.”

Because thou art so beautiful, go down, and be laid with the uncircumcised.

20 E n medio de los muertos a espada caerán. A la espada es entregada; la han arrastrado con toda su multitud.

They shall fall in the midst of those that are slain by the sword; he is delivered to the sword; bring him and all his peoples.

21 L os fuertes entre los poderosos hablarán de Egipto y de sus auxiliares de en medio del Seol: “Han descendido, yacen los incircuncisos muertos a espada.”

The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of Sheol with those that help him: they are gone down; they lie with the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.

22 A llí está Asiria con toda su multitud, sus tumbas la rodean; todos ellos muertos, caídos a espada.

Asshur is there and all his company; his graves are about him; all of them slain, fallen by the sword:

23 S us tumbas están en las partes más profundas de la fosa, y su multitud está alrededor de su tumba; todos ellos muertos, caídos a espada, los cuales infundían terror en la tierra de los vivientes.

whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and his company is round about his grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living.

24 A llí está Elam y toda su multitud alrededor de su tumba; todos ellos muertos, caídos a espada, los cuales descendieron incircuncisos a las profundidades de la tierra; ellos que infundían su terror en la tierra de los vivientes, cargaron su ignominia con los que descienden a la fosa.

There is Elam and all his multitude round about his grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are gone down uncircumcised into the lowest parts of the earth because they spread their terror in the land of the living; yet they have borne their shame with those that go down to the grave.

25 L e han hecho un lecho en medio de los muertos con toda su multitud. Sus tumbas lo rodean; todos son incircuncisos, muertos a espada, por haber infundido su terror en la tierra de los vivientes, cargaron su ignominia con los que descienden a la fosa; fueron puestos en medio de los muertos.

They have set him a bed in the midst of the slain with all his multitude: his graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword because they spread their terror in the land of the living, yet they have borne their shame with those that go down to the pit; he was put in the midst of the dead.

26 M esec, Tubal y toda su multitud están allí; sus tumbas los rodean; todos ellos incircuncisos, fueron muertos a espada, por haber infundido su terror en la tierra de los vivientes.

There is Meshech, Tubal, and all his multitude; his graves are round about him, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword because they had caused their terror in the land of the living.

27 Y no yacen junto a los héroes caídos de entre los incircuncisos que descendieron al Seol con sus armas de guerra, cuyas espadas estaban colocadas debajo de sus cabezas; pero el castigo de su iniquidad cayó sobre sus huesos, porque el terror de estos héroes prevalecía en la tierra de los vivientes.

And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, who are gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their sins shall be upon their bones because they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.

28 P ero tú, en medio de los incircuncisos serás quebrantado, y yacerás con los muertos a espada.

Yea, thou shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised and shalt lie with those that are slain with the sword.

29 A llí está Edom, sus reyes y todos sus príncipes, quienes con todo su poderío fueron puestos con los muertos a espada; ellos yacen con los incircuncisos y con los que descienden a la fosa.

There is Edom, his kings, and all his princes, which with their might are laid with those that were slain by the sword; they shall lie with the uncircumcised and with those that go down to the pit.

30 A llí están los jefes del norte, todos ellos y todos los sidonios, quienes a pesar del terror causado por su poderío, descendieron avergonzados con los muertos. Yacen incircuncisos con los muertos a espada y cargaron su ignominia con los que descienden a la fosa.

There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, who are gone down with the slain with their terror, ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with those that are slain by the sword and bear their shame with those that go down to the pit.

31 A éstos verá Faraón y se consolará con respecto a toda su multitud muerta a espada, Faraón y todo su ejército —declara el Señor Dios.

Pharaoh shall see them and shall be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army slain by the sword, said the Lord GOD.

32 A unque yo infundí terror de él en la tierra de los vivientes, a Faraón y a toda su multitud se le hará yacer entre los incircuncisos con los muertos a espada —declara el Señor Dios.

Because I have spread my terror in the land of the living, he shall also lay in the midst of the uncircumcised with those that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, said the Lord GOD.
