1 P edid lluvia al Señor en el tiempo de la lluvia tardía, al Señor que hace los nubarrones; El les dará aguaceros, y hierba en el campo a cada uno.

¶ Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain, so the LORD shall make lightnings and shall give you abundant rain and grass in the field to each one.

2 P orque los terafines hablan iniquidad, y los adivinos ven visiones mentirosas, y cuentan sueños falsos; en vano dan consuelo. Por tanto, el pueblo vaga como ovejas, está afligido porque no hay pastor.

For the idols have spoken vanity and the diviners have seen a lie and have told vain dreams; they comfort in vain; therefore they went their way like sheep; they were humbled because there was no shepherd.

3 C ontra los pastores se enciende mi ira, y a los machos cabríos castigaré; porque el Señor de los ejércitos ha visitado su rebaño, la casa de Judá, y hará de ellos como su caballo de honor en la batalla.

My anger is kindled against the pastors, and I will visit the he goats, for the LORD of the hosts shall visit his flock, the house of Judah, and shall make them as his horse of honour in the battle.

4 D e él saldrá la piedra angular, de él la clavija, de él el arco de guerra, de él todo gobernante; juntos

Out of him shall come the corner, out of him the stake, out of him the battle bow, out of him also every oppressor.

5 s erán como valientes, que en la batalla huellan al enemigo en el barro de las calles; pelearán, porque el Señor estará con ellos, y serán avergonzados los que montan a caballo.

¶ And they shall be as mighty men, who tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle; and they shall fight because the LORD shall be with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

6 F ortaleceré la casa de Judá y la casa de José salvaré, y los haré volver porque me he compadecido de ellos; y serán como si no los hubiera rechazado, porque yo soy el Señor su Dios, y les responderé.

For I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will keep the house of Joseph, and I will cause them to return; for I shall have compassion upon them, and they shall be as though I had not cast them off, for I am the LORD their God and will hear them.

7 E fraín será como un valiente, y se alegrará su corazón como por el vino; sus hijos lo verán y se alegrarán, y se regocijará su corazón en el Señor.

And those of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine, their sons shall also see it and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.

8 Y les silbaré para reunirlos, porque los he redimido; y serán tan numerosos como eran.

I will hiss for them and gather them; for I have ransomed them; and they shall be multiplied as they were multiplied.

9 C uando yo los esparza entre los pueblos, aun en lejanas tierras se acordarán de mí, y vivirán con sus hijos, y volverán.

It was good that I planted them among the peoples; even in far countries there shall be mention made of me; and they shall live with their sons and turn again.

10 L os haré volver de la tierra de Egipto, y de Asiria los recogeré; los traeré a la tierra de Galaad y del Líbano, hasta que no haya sitio para ellos.

I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.

11 P asarán por el mar de la angustia, y El herirá las olas en el mar y se secarán todas las profundidades del Nilo; y será abatido el orgullo de Asiria y apartado el cetro de Egipto.

And the tribulation shall pass through the sea and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall be lost.

12 Y o los fortaleceré en el Señor, y en su nombre andarán —declara el Señor.

And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD.
