1 P ero con respecto a la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y a nuestra reunión con El, os rogamos, hermanos,

¶ Now we beseech you, brethren, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together unto him,

2 q ue no seáis sacudidos fácilmente en vuestro modo de pensar, ni os alarméis, ni por espíritu, ni por palabra, ni por carta como si fuera de nosotros, en el sentido de que el día del Señor ha llegado.

that ye not be easily shaken in understanding or be troubled neither by spirit nor by word nor by letter as from us, as if the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Q ue nadie os engañe en ninguna manera, porque no vendrá sin que primero venga la apostasía y sea revelado el hombre de pecado, el hijo de perdición,

¶ Let no one deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,

4 e l cual se opone y se exalta sobre todo lo que se llama dios o es objeto de culto, de manera que se sienta en el templo de Dios, presentándose como si fuera Dios.

opposing and exalting himself against all that is called God, or divinity, so that he as God sits in the temple of God, making himself appear to be God.

5 ¿ No os acordáis de que cuando yo estaba todavía con vosotros os decía esto?

Remember ye not, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 Y vosotros sabéis lo que lo detiene por ahora, para ser revelado a su debido tiempo.

And ye know what impedes this now, that he might be revealed in his time.

7 P orque el misterio de la iniquidad ya está en acción, sólo que aquel que por ahora lo detiene, lo hará hasta que él mismo sea quitado de en medio.

For the mystery of iniquity is already working, except that he who dominates now will dominate until he is taken out of the way.

8 Y entonces será revelado ese inicuo, a quien el Señor matará con el espíritu de su boca, y destruirá con el resplandor de su venida;

And then shall that Wicked one be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of his mouth and remove with the clarity of his coming:

9 i nicuo cuya venida es conforme a la actividad de Satanás, con todo poder y señales y prodigios mentirosos,

that wicked one, who shall come by the working of Satan with great power and signs and lying miracles,

10 y con todo engaño de iniquidad para los que se pierden, porque no recibieron el amor de la verdad para ser salvos.

and with all deception of iniquity working in those that perish because they did not receive the charity of the truth, to be saved.

11 P or esto Dios les enviará un poder engañoso, para que crean en la mentira,

Therefore, for this cause, God shall send the operation of error in them, that they should believe the lie;

12 a fin de que sean juzgados todos los que no creyeron en la verdad sino que se complacieron en la iniquidad. Firmes en la doctrina

that they all might be condemned who did not believe the truth, but consented to the iniquity.

13 P ero nosotros siempre tenemos que dar gracias a Dios por vosotros, hermanos amados por el Señor, porque Dios os ha escogido desde el principio para salvación mediante la santificación por el Espíritu y la fe en la verdad.

¶ But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren, beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to saving health through the sanctification of the Spirit and faith in the truth,

14 Y fue para esto que El os llamó mediante nuestro evangelio, para que alcancéis la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

unto which he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 A sí que, hermanos, estad firmes y conservad las doctrinas que os fueron enseñadas, ya de palabra, ya por carta nuestra.

Therefore, brethren, stand fast and retain the doctrine which ye have been taught, whether by word or our epistle.

16 Y que nuestro Señor Jesucristo mismo, y Dios nuestro Padre, que nos amó y nos dio consuelo eterno y buena esperanza por gracia,

¶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God, even our Father, who has loved us and has given us eternal consolation and good hope through grace,

17 c onsuele vuestros corazones y os afirme en toda obra y palabra buena.

comfort your hearts and confirm you in every good word and work.
