1 Y aconteció que cuando todos los reyes de los amorreos que estaban al otro lado del Jordán hacia el occidente, y todos los reyes de los cananeos que estaban junto al mar, oyeron cómo el Señor había secado las aguas del Jordán delante de los hijos de Israel hasta que ellos habían pasado, sus corazones se acobardaron, y ya no había aliento en ellos a causa de los hijos de Israel.

¶ And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, who were on the west side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites, who were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the sons of Israel until we had passed, that their heart melted, and there was no more spirit in them before the sons of Israel.

2 E n aquel tiempo el Señor dijo a Josué: Hazte cuchillos de pedernal y vuelve a circuncidar, por segunda vez, a los hijos de Israel.

At that time the LORD said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives and circumcise again the sons of Israel the second time.

3 Y Josué se hizo cuchillos de pedernal y circuncidó a los hijos de Israel en el collado de Aralot.

And Joshua made himself sharp knives and circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.

4 E sta es la razón por la cual Josué los circuncidó: todos los del pueblo que salieron de Egipto que eran varones, todos los hombres de guerra, murieron en el desierto, por el camino, después que salieron de Egipto.

And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: All the people that had come out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, had died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt.

5 P orque todos los del pueblo que salieron fueron circuncidados, pero todos los del pueblo que nacieron en el desierto, por el camino, después de salir de Egipto, no habían sido circuncidados.

Now all the people that had come out were circumcised; but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way, after they came forth out of Egypt, were not circumcised.

6 P ues los hijos de Israel anduvieron por el desierto cuarenta años, hasta que pereció toda la nación, es decir, los hombres de guerra que salieron de Egipto, porque no escucharon la voz del Señor; a ellos el Señor les juró que no les permitiría ver la tierra que el Señor había jurado a sus padres que nos daría, una tierra que mana leche y miel.

For the sons of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness until all the people that were men of war, who had come out of Egypt, were consumed because they did not listen to the voice of the LORD; therefore, the LORD swore unto them that he would not let them see the land which the LORD had sworn unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that flows with milk and honey.

7 Y a los hijos de ellos, que El levantó en su lugar, Josué los circuncidó; pues eran incircuncisos, porque no los habían circuncidado en el camino.

But their sons, whom he raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised; for they were uncircumcised because they had not been circumcised by the way.

8 Y sucedió que cuando terminaron de circuncidar a toda la nación, permanecieron en sus lugares en el campamento hasta que sanaron.

And when they had finished circumcising all the people, they abode in the same place in the camp until they were whole.

9 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Josué: Hoy he quitado de vosotros el oprobio de Egipto. Por eso aquel lugar se ha llamado Gilgal hasta hoy.

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Therefore, the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.

10 E stando los hijos de Israel acampados en Gilgal, celebraron la Pascua en la noche del día catorce del mes en los llanos de Jericó.

¶ And the sons of Israel encamped in Gilgal and celebrated the passover on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, in the plains of Jericho.

11 Y el día después de la Pascua, ese mismo día, comieron del producto de la tierra, panes sin levadura y cereal tostado.

And they ate of the fruit of the land, unleavened cakes, on the next day after the passover and parched new ears of grain in the same day.

12 Y el maná cesó el día después que habían comido del producto de la tierra, y los hijos de Israel no tuvieron más maná, sino que comieron del producto de la tierra de Canaán durante aquel año. Josué y el capitán del ejército del Señor

And the manna ceased on the next day after they had begun to eat of the fruit of the land; and the sons of Israel never had manna again; but they ate of the fruits of the land of Canaan that year.

13 Y sucedió que cuando Josué estaba cerca de Jericó, levantó los ojos y miró, y he aquí, un hombre estaba frente a él con una espada desenvainada en la mano, y Josué fue hacia él y le dijo: ¿Eres de los nuestros o de nuestros enemigos?

¶ And Joshua, being near Jericho, lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand. And Joshua went unto him and said unto him, Art thou one of us or one of our adversaries?

14 Y él respondió: No; más bien yo vengo ahora como capitán del ejército del Señor. Y Josué se postró en tierra, le hizo reverencia, y dijo: ¿Qué dice mi señor a su siervo?

And he said, No, but I am the Prince of the host of the LORD; now I am come. Then Joshua falling upon his face in the earth worshipped him and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his slave?

15 E ntonces el capitán del ejército del Señor dijo a Josué: Quítate las sandalias de tus pies, porque el lugar donde estás es santo. Y así lo hizo Josué.

And the Prince of the LORD’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place on which thou dost stand is holy. And Joshua did so.
