1 S ed, pues, imitadores de Dios como hijos amados;

¶ Be ye therefore imitators of God, as dear children

2 y andad en amor, así como también Cristo os amó y se dio a sí mismo por nosotros, ofrenda y sacrificio a Dios, como fragante aroma.

and walk in charity even as the Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

3 P ero que la inmoralidad, y toda impureza o avaricia, ni siquiera se mencionen entre vosotros, como corresponde a los santos;

¶ But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not be once named among you as becomes saints,

4 n i obscenidades, ni necedades, ni groserías, que no son apropiadas, sino más bien acciones de gracias.

neither dishonest words nor foolishness nor low jesting, which are not convenient, but rather giving of thanks.

5 P orque con certeza sabéis esto: que ningún inmoral, impuro, o avaro, que es idólatra, tiene herencia en el reino de Cristo y de Dios.

For this ye know, that no fornicator nor unclean person nor covetous man, who is also an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Q ue nadie os engañe con palabras vanas, pues por causa de estas cosas la ira de Dios viene sobre los hijos de desobediencia.

Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

7 P or tanto, no seáis partícipes con ellos;

Be not ye, therefore, partakers with them.

8 p orque antes erais tinieblas, pero ahora sois luz en el Señor; andad como hijos de la luz

For in another time ye were darkness, but now ye are light in the Lord: walk as children of light;

9 ( porque el fruto de la luz consiste en toda bondad, justicia y verdad),

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),

10 e xaminando qué es lo que agrada al Señor.

approving what is well pleasing unto the Lord.

11 Y no participéis en las obras estériles de las tinieblas, sino más bien, desenmascaradlas;

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 p orque es vergonzoso aun hablar de las cosas que ellos hacen en secreto.

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which they do in secret.

13 P ero todas las cosas se hacen visibles cuando son expuestas por la luz, pues todo lo que se hace visible es luz.

But all these things when they are reproved by the light are made manifest, for the light is that which manifests everything.

14 P or esta razón dice: Despierta, tú que duermes, y levántate de entre los muertos, y te alumbrará Cristo.

Therefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest and arise from the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.

15 P or tanto, tened cuidado cómo andáis; no como insensatos, sino como sabios,

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 a provechando bien el tiempo, porque los días son malos.

redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 A sí pues, no seáis necios, sino entended cuál es la voluntad del Señor.

Therefore, be ye not unwise, but understanding of what the will of the Lord is.

18 Y no os embriaguéis con vino, en lo cual hay disolución, sino sed llenos del Espíritu,

And be not drunk with wine, in which there is excess, but be filled with the Spirit,

19 h ablando entre vosotros con salmos, himnos y cantos espirituales, cantando y alabando con vuestro corazón al Señor;

speaking among yourselves with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and praising the Lord in your hearts,

20 d ando siempre gracias por todo, en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, a Dios, el Padre;

giving thanks always for all things unto the God and Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

21 s ometiéndoos unos a otros en el temor de Cristo. Cristo y la iglesia, un modelo para el hogar

¶ submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

22 L as mujeres estén sometidas a sus propios maridos como al Señor.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husband, as unto the Lord.

23 P orque el marido es cabeza de la mujer, así como Cristo es cabeza de la iglesia, siendo El mismo el Salvador del cuerpo.

For the husband is the head of the wife even as the Christ is head of the congregation, and it is he who gives saving health to the body.

24 P ero así como la iglesia está sujeta a Cristo, también las mujeres deben estarlo a sus maridos en todo.

Therefore, as the congregation is subject unto the Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

25 M aridos, amad a vuestras mujeres, así como Cristo amó a la iglesia y se dio a sí mismo por ella,

Husbands, love your wives even as the Christ also loved the congregation and gave himself for her,

26 p ara santificarla, habiéndola purificado por el lavamiento del agua con la palabra,

that he might sanctify and cleanse her in the washing of water by the word,

27 a fin de presentársela a sí mismo, una iglesia en toda su gloria, sin que tenga mancha ni arruga ni cosa semejante, sino que fuera santa e inmaculada.

that he might present her glorious for himself, a congregation, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

28 A sí también deben amar los maridos a sus mujeres, como a sus propios cuerpos. El que ama a su mujer, a sí mismo se ama.

So ought husbands to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.

29 P orque nadie aborreció jamás su propio cuerpo, sino que lo sustenta y lo cuida, así como también Cristo a la iglesia;

For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it even as the Lord with his congregation:

30 p orque somos miembros de su cuerpo.

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 P or esto el hombre dejara a su padre y a su madre, y se unira a su mujer, y los dos seran una sola carne.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and shall be joined unto his wife, and they shall be two in one flesh.

32 G rande es este misterio, pero hablo con referencia a Cristo y a la iglesia.

This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the congregation.

33 E n todo caso, cada uno de vosotros ame también a su mujer como a sí mismo, y que la mujer respete a su marido.

Nevertheless, let each one of you do likewise, let each one so love his wife even as himself, and let the wife see that she reverences her husband.
