1 C uando la reina de Sabá oyó de la fama de Salomón, vino a Jerusalén a probar a Salomón con preguntas difíciles. Ella tenía un séquito muy grande, con camellos cargados de especias y gran cantidad de oro y piedras preciosas. Cuando vino a Salomón, habló con él de todo lo que tenía en su corazón.

¶ And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with enigmas at Jerusalem, with a very great host and camels that bore spices and gold in abundance and precious stones. And when she was come to Solomon, she spoke with him of all that was in her heart.

2 Y Salomón contestó todas sus preguntas; no hubo nada tan oscuro que Salomón no pudiera explicárselo.

But Solomon told her all her questions, and nothing remained that Solomon did not declare unto her.

3 C uando la reina de Sabá vio la sabiduría de Salomón, la casa que él había edificado,

And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon and the house that he had built

4 l os manjares de su mesa, las habitaciones de sus siervos, el porte de sus ministros y sus vestiduras, sus coperos y sus vestiduras, y la escalinata por la cual él subía a la casa del Señor, se quedó sin aliento.

and the food of his table and the seat of his slaves and the attendance of his ministers and their apparel, his butlers also and their apparel, and his sacrifices which he sacrificed in the house of the LORD, there was no more spirit in her.

5 E ntonces dijo al rey: Era verdad lo que había oído en mi tierra acerca de tus palabras y de tu sabiduría.

And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in my own land of thy word and of thy wisdom,

6 P ero yo no creía lo que me decían, hasta que he venido y mis ojos lo han visto. Y he aquí, no se me había contado ni la mitad de la grandeza de tu sabiduría. Tú superas todo lo que había oído.

but I did not believe their words until I came, and my eyes had seen it, and, behold, not even the half of the greatness of thy wisdom was told me, for thou dost exceed the fame that I heard.

7 B ienaventurados tus hombres, bienaventurados estos tus siervos que están delante de ti continuamente y oyen tu sabiduría.

Blessed are thy men and blessed are these thy slaves, who stand continually before thee and hear thy wisdom.

8 B endito sea el Señor tu Dios que se agradó en ti, poniéndote sobre su trono como rey para el Señor tu Dios; porque tu Dios amó a Israel afirmándolo para siempre, por lo cual te ha puesto por rey sobre ellos para hacer derecho y justicia.

The LORD thy God be blessed, who delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore, he made thee king over them, to do judgment and righteousness.

9 E ntonces ella dio al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro, y gran cantidad de especias aromáticas y piedras preciosas. Nunca hubo especias aromáticas como las que la reina de Sabá dio al rey Salomón.

And she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold and of spices great abundance and precious stones; never had there been any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave King Solomon.

10 Y los siervos de Hiram y los siervos de Salomón que habían traído oro de Ofir, trajeron también madera de sándalo y piedras preciosas.

Also the slaves of Hiram and the slaves of Solomon, who had brought gold from Ophir, brought brazil wood and precious stones.

11 C on la madera de sándalo el rey hizo gradas para la casa del Señor y para el palacio del rey; también liras y arpas para los cantores; no se había visto en la tierra de Judá madera como ésa.

And the king made of the brazil wood stairs to the house of the LORD and to the king’s palace and harps and psalteries for the singers, and such wood had never been seen before in the land of Judah.

12 E l rey Salomón dio a la reina de Sabá todo cuanto ella quiso pedirle, más de lo que había traído al rey. Después ella se volvió y regresó a su tierra con sus siervos. Riqueza y sabiduría de Salomón

And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, more than what she had brought unto the king. Then she turned and went away to her own land with her slaves.

13 E l peso del oro que llegaba a Salomón en un solo año era de seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro,

¶ Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,

14 s in contar lo que los mercaderes y los comerciantes traían. Todos los reyes de Arabia y los gobernadores de la tierra traían oro y plata a Salomón.

besides that which the traders and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the land brought gold and silver to Solomon.

15 Y el rey Salomón hizo doscientos escudos grandes de oro batido, usando seiscientos siclos de oro batido en cada escudo.

And King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to each buckler.

16 T ambién hizo trescientos escudos de oro batido, usando trescientos siclos de oro en cada escudo; y el rey los puso en la casa del bosque del Líbano.

And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three hundred shekels of gold went to each shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

17 E l rey hizo además un gran trono de marfil y lo revistió de oro puro.

Moreover, the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with pure gold.

18 Y había seis gradas hasta el trono y un estrado de oro unido al trono, con brazos a cada lado del asiento, y dos leones de pie junto a los brazos.

And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on each side of the seat, and two lions standing by the stays.

19 Y doce leones estaban allí de pie en las seis gradas a uno y otro lado; nada semejante se hizo para ningún otro reino.

There were also twelve lions standing on one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.

20 T odos los vasos de beber del rey Salomón eran de oro, y todas las vasijas de la casa del bosque del Líbano eran de oro puro. A la plata no se le atribuía valor en los días de Salomón,

And all the drinking vessels of King Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. In the days of Solomon silver was not esteemed.

21 p orque el rey tenía naves que iban a Tarsis con los siervos de Hiram, y cada tres años las naves de Tarsis venían trayendo oro, plata, marfil, monos y pavos reales.

For the king’s ships went to Tarshish with the slaves of Hiram, and every three years the ships came from Tarshish bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

22 A sí el rey Salomón llegó a ser más grande que todos los reyes de la tierra en riqueza y sabiduría.

And King Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

23 Y todos los reyes de la tierra procuraban ver a Salomón, para oír la sabiduría que Dios había puesto en su corazón.

And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.

24 C ada uno de ellos traía su presente: objetos de plata y objetos de oro, vestidos, armas, especias, caballos y mulos; y así año tras año.

And of these, each his present, vessels of silver and vessels of gold and raiment, arms, spices, horses, and mules, every year.

25 S alomón tenía cuatro mil establos para los caballos y carros y doce mil hombres de a caballo, y los situó en las ciudades de carros y en Jerusalén, junto al rey.

And Solomon also had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

26 E l tenía dominio sobre todos los reyes desde el Eufrates hasta la tierra de los filisteos, y hasta la frontera de Egipto.

And he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt.

27 E l rey hizo la plata tan común en Jerusalén como las piedras, e hizo los cedros tan abundantes como los sicómoros que están en el llano.

And the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedar trees as the sycamore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.

28 Y traían para Salomón caballos de Egipto y de todos los países. Muerte de Salomón

And they brought unto Solomon horses out of Egypt and out of all lands.

29 L os demás hechos de Salomón, los primeros y los postreros, ¿no están escritos en las palabras del profeta Natán y en la profecía de Ahías silonita, en las visiones del vidente Iddo acerca de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat?

Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the books of Nathan, the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah, the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo, the seer against Jeroboam, the son of Nebat?

30 Y reinó Salomón en Jerusalén sobre todo Israel cuarenta años.

And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

31 Y durmió Salomón con sus padres, y fue sepultado en la ciudad de su padre David; y su hijo Roboam reinó en su lugar.

And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David, his father; and Rehoboam, his son, reigned in his stead.
