1 B ëhuni pra imitues të Perëndisë, si bij shumë të dashur,

¶ Be ye therefore imitators of God, as dear children

2 e dhe ecni në dashuri, sikurse edhe Krishti na deshi dhe e dha veten e tij për ne, si ofertë e flijim Perëndisë, si një parfum erëmirë.

and walk in charity even as the Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

3 P or, ashtu si u ka hije shenjtorëve, as kurvëria, as ndonjë papastërti, as kurnacëri të mos zihet në gojë midis jush;

¶ But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not be once named among you as becomes saints,

4 a s pandershmëri, as të folur pa mend e të përqeshur, të cilat nuk kanë hije, por më tepër të ketë falenderime.

neither dishonest words nor foolishness nor low jesting, which are not convenient, but rather giving of thanks.

5 T ë dini në fakt këtë: asnjë kurvar, ose i ndyrë ose kurnac, i cili është idhujtar, nuk ka ndonjë trashëgim në mbretërinë e Krishtit dhe të Perëndisë.

For this ye know, that no fornicator nor unclean person nor covetous man, who is also an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 A skush të mos ju gënjejë me fjalë të kota, sepse, për shkak të këtyre gjërave, vjen zemërimi i Perëndisë mbi bijtë e mosbindjes.

Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

7 M os jini, pra, shokë me ta.

Be not ye, therefore, partakers with them.

8 S epse dikur ishit errësirë, por tani jeni dritë në Zotin; ecni, pra, si bij të dritës,

For in another time ye were darkness, but now ye are light in the Lord: walk as children of light;

9 s epse fryti i Frymës konsiston në gjithçka që është mirësi, drejtësi dhe të vërtetë,

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),

10 d uke provuar çfarë është e pranueshme për Perëndinë.

approving what is well pleasing unto the Lord.

11 D he mos merrni pjesë në punët e pafrytshme të errësirës, por më tepër t’i qortoni,

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 s epse ato që bëjnë ata në fshehtësi, është turp edhe të thuhen.

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which they do in secret.

13 K urse të gjitha gjërat, kur dalin në dritë, bëhen të dukshme, sepse çdo gjë që shfaqet është dritë.

But all these things when they are reproved by the light are made manifest, for the light is that which manifests everything.

14 P randaj Shkrimi thotë: “Zgjohu, ti që fle, dhe ringjallu prej së vdekurish, dhe Krishti do të shndrisë mbi ty.”

Therefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest and arise from the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.

15 K ujdesuni, pra, që të ecni me kujdes dhe jo si të marrët, por si të mençurit,

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 d uke e shfyrtësuar kohën, sepse ditët janë të mbrapshta.

redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 P randaj mos u bëni të pakujdesshëm, por kuptoni cili është vullneti i Zotit.

Therefore, be ye not unwise, but understanding of what the will of the Lord is.

18 D he mos u dehni me verë, në të cilën ka shthurje, por mbushuni me Frymë,

And be not drunk with wine, in which there is excess, but be filled with the Spirit,

19 d uke i folur njeri tjetrit me psalme, himne dhe këngë frymërore, duke kënduar dhe duke lavdëruar Zotin me zemrën tuaj,

speaking among yourselves with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and praising the Lord in your hearts,

20 d uke e falënderuar vazhdimisht për çdo gjë Perëndinë dhe Atin, në emër të Zotit tonë Jezu Krisht;

giving thanks always for all things unto the God and Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

21 n ënshtrohuni njëri-tjetrit në druajtjen e Krishtit!

¶ submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

22 J u, gratë, nënshtrohuni burrave tuaj porsi Zotit,

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husband, as unto the Lord.

23 s epse burri është kreu i gruas, sikurse edhe Krishti është kreu i kishës, dhe ai vetë është Shpëtimtari i trupit.

For the husband is the head of the wife even as the Christ is head of the congregation, and it is he who gives saving health to the body.

24 A shtu si kisha i është nënshtruar Krishtit, kështu gratë duhet t’i nënshtrohen burrave të tyre në çdo gjë.

Therefore, as the congregation is subject unto the Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

25 J u, burra, t’i doni gratë tuaja, sikurse edhe Krishti ka dashur kishën dhe e ka dhënë veten e vet për të,

Husbands, love your wives even as the Christ also loved the congregation and gave himself for her,

26 q ë ta shenjtërojë, pasi e pastroi me larjen e ujit me anë të fjalës,

that he might sanctify and cleanse her in the washing of water by the word,

27 q ë ta nxjerrë atë përpara vetes të lavdishme, pa njolla a rrudha a ndonjë gjë të ti-llë, por që të jetë e shenjtë dhe e paqortueshme.

that he might present her glorious for himself, a congregation, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

28 K ështu burrat duhet t’i duan gratë e veta porsi trupat e tyre; kush do gruan e vet do vetveten.

So ought husbands to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.

29 S epse askush nuk urreu mishin e vet, por e ushqen dhe kujdeset me butësi për të, sikurse edhe Zoti bën me kishën,

For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it even as the Lord with his congregation:

30 s epse ne jemi gjymtyrë të trupit të tij, të mishit të tij dhe të kockave të tij.

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 “ Prandaj njeriu do të lërë babanë e vet dhe nënën e vet dhe do të bashkohet me gruan e vet, dhe të dy do të bëhen një mish i vetëm.”

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and shall be joined unto his wife, and they shall be two in one flesh.

32 K y mister është i madh; tani unë e them në lidhjen me Krishtin dhe me kishën.

This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the congregation.

33 P or secili nga ju kështu ta dojë gruan e vet sikurse e do veten e vet; dhe po kështu gruaja ta respektojë burrin.

Nevertheless, let each one of you do likewise, let each one so love his wife even as himself, and let the wife see that she reverences her husband.
