1 F jala e Zotit m’u drjetua vitin e nëntë, muajin e dhjetë, ditën e dhjetë të muajit:

¶ Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 " Bir njeriu, shkruaje datën e sotme, pikërisht të kësaj dite. Mbreti i Babilonisë ka vendosur të rrethojë Jeruzalemin pikërisht sot.

Son of man, write the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon laid siege against Jerusalem this same day.

3 P ropozoji një shëmbëlltyrë kësaj shtëpie rebele dhe u thuaj atyre: Kështu thotë Zoti, Zoti: Nxirre tenxheren, vëre mbi të dhe mbushe me ujë.

And speak unto the house of rebellion by parable and say unto them, Thus hath the Lord GOD said; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:

4 F ut në të copat e mishit, gjithë copat e mira, kofshën dhe shpatullën; mbushe me kocka të zgjedhura.

gather her pieces of meat into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

5 M err më të mirën e kopesë, pastaj grumbullo nën të dru; vëre të ziejë fort, me qëllim që në të të ziejnë edhe kockat".

Take the choice of the flock and burn also the bones under it and make it boil well and let them seethe the bones of it therein.

6 P randaj, kështu thotë Zoti, Zoti: "Mjerë qyteti gjakatar, tenxheres ku ka papastërti, papastërti që nuk hiqet. Zbraze pjesë pjesë pa hedhur short mbi të.

For thus hath the Lord GOD said: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein and whose scum is not gone out of it! For her pieces, because of her pieces let it be removed; let no lot fall upon it.

7 S epse gjaku i tij është në mes të tij; e ka vënë në majë të një shkëmbi, nuk e ka shkapërderdhur për tokë për ta mbuluar me pluhur.

For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she did not poured it upon the ground, to cover it with dust;

8 P ër të nxitur tërbimin, për t’u hakmarrë, ka vënë gjakun e tij në majë të një shkëmbi, që të mos mbulohet".

that wrath might rise up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the high place of the rock that it should not be covered.

9 P randaj, kështu thotë Zoti, Zoti: "Mjerë qyteti gjakatar! Edhe unë do të ndez një zjarr të madh.

Therefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: Woe to the bloody city! I will also make a great fire,

10 M blidh drutë, ndiz zjarrin, piqe mirë mishin, përziej beharnat dhe lëri kockat të digjen.

multiplying the wood, kindling the fire, to consume the flesh and to make the broth, and the bones shall be burned;

11 P astaj vëre tenxheren bosh mbi qymyr, që të ngrohet dhe bronzi i saj të skuqet me qëllim që papastërtia e saj të hiqet nga mesi i saj dhe pisllëku i saj të konsumohet.

setting afterward the empty pot upon the coals thereof that it may become red hot and may burn and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.

12 A i më ka lodhur me gënjeshtrat e tij; pisllëku i madh i tij nuk po hiqet; pisllëku i tij do të marrë fund mbi zjarrin.

In fraud she has become weary, and her great scum did not go forth out of her; her scum shall be in the fire.

13 K a shthurje në papastërtinë tënde. Unë, pra, kërkova të të pastroj, por ti nuk je i pastër; nuk do të pastrohesh më nga papastërtia jote, deri sa të mos kem shfryrë mbi ty tërbimin tim.

In thy perverse filthiness thou shalt die because I have cleansed thee, and thou didst not cleanse thyself from thy uncleanness; thou shalt never cleanse thyself again, until I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

14 U në, Zoti, fola; kjo gjë do të ndodhë, unë do ta kryej; nuk do të prapsem, nuk do të kem mëshirë, nuk do të pendohem. Ti do të gjykohesh sipas sjelljes tënde dhe sipas veprimeve e tua, thotë Zoti, Zoti".

I, the LORD, have spoken: I came and worked. I will not turn back, neither will I have mercy, neither will I repent; according to thy ways and according to thy doings, they shall judge thee, said the Lord GOD.

15 F jala e Zotit m’u drejtua, duke thënë:

¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

16 " Bir njeriu, ja, unë do të të heq me një goditje të vetme kënaqësinë e syve të tu; por ti mos u trishto, mos vajto dhe mos derdh asnjë lot.

Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes by death; yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

17 V ajto në heshtje, mos mbaj zi për të vdekurit, lidhe kokën me çallmë, mbath sandalet, mos e mbulo mjekrën dhe mos ha bukën e njerëzve që mbajnë zi".

Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind thy turban upon thy head, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet and do not cover thy lips and do not eat the bread of comfort.

18 N ë mëngjes i fola popullit dhe në mbrëmje më vdiq gruaja; të nesërmen në mëngjes veprova ashtu si më kishin urdhëruar.

So I spoke unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

19 P opulli atëherë më pyeti: "A do të na shpjegosh ç’kuptim ka për ne ajo që ti bën?".

And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?

20 U në u përgjigja: "Fjala e Zotit m’u drejtua, duke thënë:

Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

21 I thuaj shtëpisë së Izraelit: Kështu thotë Zoti, Zoti: Ja, unë do të përdhos shenjtëroren time, krenarinë e forcës suaj, kënaqësinë e syve tuaj, kënaqësinë e shpirtit tuaj; dhe bijtë tuaj dhe bijat tuaja që keni lënë do të rrëzohen nga shpata.

Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus hath the Lord GOD said: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the glory of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and the gift of your soul; your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.

22 D he ju do të bëni ashtu si bëra unë: nuk do ta mbuloni mjekrën dhe nuk do të hani bukën e njerëzve që mbajnë zi.

And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips nor eat the bread of men.

23 D o të keni mbi kokë çallmat tuaja, sandalet tuaja te këmbët; nuk do të trishtoheni dhe nuk do të qani, por do ta hani veten për paudhësitë tuaja dhe do të vajtoni njeri me tjetrin.

And your turbans shall be upon your heads and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities and cry out one with another.

24 K ështu Ezekieli do të jetë për ju një shenjë; ju do të veproni për çdo gjë ashtu si veproi ai. Kur do të ndodhin këto gjëra, do të pranoni se unë jam Zoti, Zoti.

Thus Ezekiel shall be unto you for a sign: according to all that he has done ye shall do: and when this comes, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

25 D he ti, bir njeriu, ditën që atyre do t’u marr fortesën e tyre, gëzimin e lavdisë së tyre, kënaqësinë e syve të tyre, lakminë e shpirtit të tyre, bijtë e tyre dhe bijat e tyre,

Also, thou son of man, in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and the care of their souls, their sons and their daughters,

26 a të ditë një ikanak do të vijë te ti që të të sjellë lajmin.

that day one that escapes shall come unto thee, to bring the news.

27 A të ditë ti do të hapësh gojën me ikanakun; atëherë ti do të flasësh dhe nuk do të jesh më memec, dhe do të jesh një shenjë për ta. Atëherë do të pranojnë se unë jam Zoti".

In that day thy mouth shall be opened to speak unto him who is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and no longer be dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
