1 P o të përbej, pra, përpara Perëndisë dhe Zotit Jezu Krisht, që ka për të gjykuar të gjallë e të vdekur, në dukjen e tij dhe në mbretërinë e tij:

¶ I charge thee, therefore, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead in his appearing and in his kingdom:

2 p rediko fjalën, ngul këmbë me kohë e pa kohë, kritiko dhe qorto, këshillo me çdo durim e doktrinë.

Preach the word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3 S epse do të vijë koha kur njerëzit nuk do ta durojnë doktrinën e shëndoshë, por, sipas ëndjeve të veta, do të mbledhin grumbull mësues për të gudulisur veshët

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, they shall heap up unto themselves teachers who shall speak to them according to their own lusts,

4 d he do t’i largojnë veshët nga e vërteta e do t’i sjellin drejt përrallave.

and thus they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall return unto fables.

5 P or ti rri syçelë në çdo gjë, duro vuajtjet, kryeje punën e ungjilltarit, përmbushe plotësisht shërbesën tënde.

But watch thou in all things, labour, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill thy ministry.

6 S a për mua, po derdhem si ofertë pije, dhe koha e nisjes sime arriti.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my release is at hand.

7 L uftën e mirë e luftova, e përfundova vrapimin, e ruajta besimin.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith;

8 P as kësaj më pret gati kurora e drejtësisë që Perëndia, gjykatësi i drejtë, do të ma japë atë ditë, dhe jo vetëm mua, por edhe gjithë atyre që presin me dashuri të shfaqurit e tij.

from now on there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all those also that have loved his appearing.

9 P ërpiqu të vish shpejt tek unë,

¶ Procure to come shortly unto me;

10 s epse Dema më la, sepse deshi këtë botë, dhe iku në Thesaloniki; Kreshenci në Galati, Titi në Dalmaci.

for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

11 M e mua është vetëm Lluka; merre Markun dhe sille me vete, sepse e kam shumë të dobishëm për shërbesë.

Only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with thee, for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

12 T ikikun e dërgova në Efes.

And Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.

13 K ur të vish, sill mantelin që lashë në Troadë, pranë Karpit, dhe librat, sidomos pergamenat.

14 A leksandri, remtari, më bëri shumë të këqija; Zoti ia shpagoftë sipas veprave të tij.

Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

15 R uaju edhe ti prej tij, sepse ka qenë kundërshtar i madh i fjalëve tona.

of whom be thou ware also; for he has greatly resisted our words.

16 N ë mbrojtjen time të parë në gjyq askush nuk qe me mua, por të gjithë më lanë; kjo të mos u numërohet për faj.

¶ At my first answer no one stood with me, but all men forsook me: let it not be imputed unto them.

17 P or Zoti më ndenji pranë dhe më dha fuqi, që me anën time predikimi i ungjillit të kryhej plotësisht dhe ta dëgjonin të gjithë johebrenjtë; dhe unë shpëtova nga goja e luanit.

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully known and that all the Gentiles might hear, and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

18 E dhe Zoti do të më shpëtojë nga çdo vepër e keqe dhe do të më ruajë për mbretërinë e tij qiellore. Lavdi atij në shekuj të shekujve. Amen.

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work and will save me for his heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
