1 P as këtyre gjërave, Jezusi përshkoi Galilenë, sepse nuk donte të endej nëpër Jude, nga që Judenjtë kërkonin ta vrisnin.

¶ After these things Jesus walked in Galilee, for he would not walk in Judea because the Jews sought to kill him.

2 P or festa e Judenjve, ajo e Tabernakujve ishte afër.

Now the feast of the Jews, of the tabernacles, was at hand.

3 P randaj vëllezërit e tij i thanë: “Nisu prej këndej dhe shko në Jude, që edhe dishepujt e tu t’i shohin veprat që ti bën.

His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart from this place and go into Judea that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

4 A skush në fakt nuk bën asgjë në fshehtësi kur kërkon të nijhet botërisht; kur ti do të bësh gjëra të tilla, tregohu botës!.”

For no one who seeks to be clearly known does anything in secret. If thou doest these things, show thyself to the world.

5 N ë fakt as vëllezërit e tij nuk besonin në të.

For not even his brethren believed in him.

6 A tëherë Jezusi u tha aytre: “Koha ime nuk ka ardhur ende; por koha juaj është gjithmonë gati.

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come, but your time is always ready.

7 B ota nuk mund t’ju urrejë juve, por më urren mua sepse unë dëshmoj për të se veprat e saj janë të mbrapshta.

The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

8 N gjituni ju në këtë festë; unë nuk po ngjitem ende në këtë festë, sepse koha ime ende nuk është plotësuar.”

Go ye up unto this feast; I go not up yet unto this feast, for my time is not yet fulfilled.

9 D he si u tha atyre këto gjëra, mbeti në Galile.

And having said these things unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

10 M basi vëllezërit e tij u ngjitën në festë, atëherë edhe ai u ngjit atje, jo haptas, por si fshehurazi.

But when his brethren were gone up, then he also went up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

11 J udenjtë, pra, e kërkonin gjatë festës dhe thoshnin: “Ku është ai?.”

Then the Jews sought him at the feast and said, Where is he?

12 N ë turmë pëshpëritej shumë për të; disa thoshnin: “Ai është i mirë!.” Të tjerë thoshnin: “Jo, madje ai e mashtron popullin.”

And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him, for some said, He is a good man; others said, No, but he deceives the people.

13 P or askush nuk fliste haptas për të, nga druajtja e Judenjve.

But no one spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews.

14 P or, aty nga mesi i festës, Jezusi u ngjit në tempull dhe mësonte.

¶ Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught.

15 D he Judenjtë mrrekulloheshin duke thënë: “Si i ditka ky shkronjat, pa pasur studiuar?.”

And the Jews marvelled, saying, How does this man know letters, having never learned?

16 J ezusi atëherë iu përgjigj atyre dhe tha: “Doktrina ime nuk është imja, por e atij që më ka dërguar.

Jesus answered them and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

17 N ë qoftë se dikush don të bëjë vullnetin e tij, do ta njohë nëse kjo doktrinë vjen nga Perëndia apo që unë flas nga vetja ime.

If anyone desires to do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it is of God or whether I speak of myself.

18 K ush flet nga vetja e tij kërkon lavdinë e vet, kurse ai që kërkon lavdinë e atij që e ka dërguar është i vërtetë, dhe në të nuk ka padrejtësi.

He that speaks of himself seeks his own glory, but he that seeks the glory of him that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

19 A nuk jua ka dhënë Moisiu ligjin? E pra, asnjë nga ju nuk e vë në praktikë ligjin. Pse kërkoni të më vritni?.”

Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keeps the law? Why do ye go about to kill me?

20 T urma u përgjigj dhe tha: “Ti ke një demon; kush kërkon të të vrasë?.”

The people answered and said, Thou hast a demon; who goes about to kill thee?

21 J ezusi u përgjigj dhe u tha: “Unë bëra një vepër dhe ju të gjithë jeni të mreku-lluar.

Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

22 P randaj Moisiu iu dha rrethprerjen (ajo nuk është prej Moisiut, por prej etërve); dhe ju e rrethpritni një njeri të shtunën.

Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers), and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

23 N ë qoftë se një njeri merr rrethprerjen të shtunën, që të mos shkelet ligji i Moisiut, ju zemëroheni kundër meje sepse shërova tërësishtë një njeri të shtunën?

If a man on the sabbath day receives circumcision without the law of Moses being broken, are ye angry at me because I have made a man entirely whole on the sabbath day?

24 M os gjykoni sipas pamjes së jashtme, por gjykoni sipas drejtësisë!”

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.

25 A tëherë disa nga Jeruzalemi thanë: “A nuk është ky ai që kërkojnë ta vrasin?

Then one of those of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?

26 E megjithatë ja, ai po flet lirisht dhe nuk i thonë asgjë; mos kanë njohur krerët me të vërtetë se ai është Krishti?

But, behold, he speaks boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Have the rulers truly understood that this is indeed the Christ?

27 P or ne e dimë se nga është ai; ndërsa kur të vijë Krishti, askush nuk do ta dijë se nga është.”

But we know where this man is from; but when the Christ comes, no one shall know where he is from.

28 A tëherë Jezusi, duke mësuar në tempull, thirri dhe tha: “Ju më njihni dhe e dini se nga jam, megjithatë unë s’kam ardhur nga vetja, por ai që më ka dërguar është i vërtetë dhe ju nuk e njihni.

Then Jesus cried out in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye know me, and ye know from where I come, but I have not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

29 P or unë atë e njoh, sepse jam nga ai dhe ai më dërgoi.”

But I know him, for I am from him, and he has sent me.

30 P randaj ata kërkonin ta kapnin, por askush nuk vuri dorë mbi të, sepse ora e tij s’kishte ardhur akoma.

Then they sought to take him, but no one laid hands on him because his hour was not yet come.

31 P or shumë veta nga turma besuan në të dhe thoshnin: “Kur të vijë Krishti, a do të bëjë më shumë shenja se këto që ka bërë ky?.”

And many of the people believed in him and said, When the Christ comes, will he do more signs than these which this man has done?

32 F arisenjtë dëgjuan turmën duke pëshpëritur këto gjëra për të; prandaj farisenjtë dhe krerët e priftërinjve dërguan roje për ta kapur.

The Pharisees heard the people that murmured such things concerning him, and the princes of the priests and the Pharisees sent officers to take him.

33 A tëherë Jezusi u tha atyre: “Unë jam edhe për pak kohë me ju, pastaj do të shkoj tek ai që më ka dërguar.

Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while I shall be with you, and then I shall go unto him that sent me.

34 D o të më kërkoni e nuk do të më gjeni; dhe atje ku do të jem unë, ju nuk do të mund të vini.”

Ye shall seek me and shall not find me, and where I shall be, ye shall not be able to come.

35 P randaj Judenjtë thonin në mes tyre: “Ku do të shkojë ky që ne nuk do ta gjejmë? Mos do të shkojë tek ata që janë shpërndarë midis Grekëve, dhe të mësojë Grekët?

Then the Jews said among themselves, Where will he go that we shall not find him? Will he go unto the dispersed among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?

36 Ç farë deshi të thoshte kur tha: "Ju do të më kërkoni dhe nuk do të më gjeni"; dhe: "Atje ku do të jem unë, ju nuk mund të vini"?.”

What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me and shall not find me, and where I shall be ye shall not be able to come?

37 D itën e fundit, në ditën e madhe të festës, Jezusi u çua në këmbë dhe thirri duke thënë: “Nëse dikush ka etje, le të vijë tek unë e të pijë.

¶ In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If any man thirsts, let him come unto me and drink.

38 A i që beson në mua, siç ka thënë Shkrimi, nga brendësia e tij do të burojnë lumenj uji të gjallë.”

He that believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 P or këtë ai e tha për Frymën, që do të merrnin ata që do të besonin në të; sepse Fryma e Shenjtë në fakt nuk ishte dhënë ende, sepse Jezusi ende nuk ishte përlëvduar.

(But this he spoke concerning the Spirit, which those that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Spirit was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

40 S humë veta nga turma, kur i dëgjuan këto fjalë, thoshnin: “Ky është me të vërtetë Profeti!.”

Then many of the people, when they heard this word, said, Truly this is the Prophet.

41 T ë tjerë thoshnin: “Ky është Krishti.” Kurse të tjerë thoshnin: “Vallë nga Galilea vjen Krishti?

Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall the Christ come out of Galilee?

42 A nuk thotë Shkrimi se Krishti vjen nga pasardhja e Davidit dhe nga Bethlehemi, fshati ku jetonte Davidi?.”

Has not the scripture said, That the Christ comes of the seed of David and out of the town of Bethlehem where David was?

43 K ështu pati përçarje në turmë për shkak të tij.

So there was a division among the people because of him.

44 D he disa prej tyre donin ta kapnin, por askush nuk vuri dorë mbi të.

And some of them would have taken him, but no one laid hands on him.

45 A tëherë rojet u kthyen te krerët e priftërinjve dhe te farisenjtë, dhe këta u thanë atyre: “Pse nuk e sollët?.”

¶ Then the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees came, and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

46 R ojet u përgjigjen: “Asnjeri nuk ka folur kurrë si ai njeri.”

The officers answered, Never has anyone spoken like this man.

47 P randaj farisenjtë iu përgjigjën atyre: “Mos u gënjyet edhe ju?

Then the Pharisees answered them, Are ye also deceived?

48 M os vallë ndonjë nga krerët ose nga farisenjtë besoi në të?

Have any of the princes or of the Pharisees believed on him?

49 P or kjo turmë, që nuk e njeh ligjin, është e mallkuar.”

But this people who do not know the law are cursed.

50 N ikodemi, një prej tyre, i cili natën kishte shkuar te Jezusi, u tha atyre:

Nicodemus said unto them (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them),

51 “ Ligji ynë dënon vallë një njeri para se ta ketë dëgjuar dhe ta dijë ç’ka bërë ai?.”

Does our law judge any man before it hears him and knows what he does?

52 A ta u përgjigjën dhe i thanë: “Mos je edhe ti nga Galilea? Hulumto Shkrimet dhe do të shohësh se nga Galilea s’ka dalë kurrë profet.”

They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search and see, for a prophet has never arisen out of Galilee.

53 D he secili u kthye në shtëpinë e vet.

And each one went unto his own house.
