1 M blidhuni, mblidhuni bashkë, o komb i pacipë,

¶ Search yourselves and one another, O unfriendly people;

2 p ara se dekreti të ketë efekt, para se dita të kalojë si byku, para se të bjerë mbi ju zemërimi i zjarrtë i Zotit, para se të vijë mbi ju dita e zemërimit të Zotit.

before the decree is executed, before the day passes as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD comes upon you, before the day of the LORD’s anger comes upon you.

3 K ërkoni Zotin ju të gjithë, të përulurit e dheut, që zbatoni ligjin e tij. Kërkoni drejtësinë, kërkoni përulësinë. Ndofta do të jeni të mbrojtur në ditën e zemërimit të Zotit.

Seek ye the LORD, all ye humble of the earth, who have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek humility: it may be ye shall be kept in the day of the LORD’s anger.

4 S epse Gaza do të braktiset dhe Ashkeloni do të bëhet një shkreti; do të dëbojnë Ashdodin me dhunë në mes të ditës, dhe Ekroni do të çrrënjoset.

¶ For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall spoil Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.

5 M jerë banorët e bregut të detit, mjerë kombi i Kerethejve! Fjala e Zotit është kundër teje, o Kanaan, vend i Filistejve: "Unë do të të shkatërroj dhe nuk do të mbetet më asnjë i gjallë".

Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the people of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Palestinians, I will cause thee to be destroyed until there shall be no inhabitant left.

6 K ështu bregu i detit do të jetë i tëri kullotë me banesa për barinjtë dhe vathë për kopetë.

And the sea coast shall be for dwellings and cottages for pastors, and sheepfolds.

7 B regdeti do t’i përkasë mbeturinës së shtëpisë së Judës; në këto vende do të kullotin kopetë; në mbrëmje do të pushojnë në shtëpitë e Ashkelonit, sepse Zoti, Perëndia i tyre, do t’i vizitojë dhe do t’i kthejë nga robëria.

And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon they shall sleep for the night; for the LORD their God shall visit them and return their captives.

8 " Kam dëgjuar përbuzjen e Moabit dhe fyerjet e rënda të bijve të Amonit, me të cilat kanë fyer popullin tim dhe janë zmadhuar në dëm të territorit të tyre.

¶ I have heard the reproaches of Moab, and the revilings of the sons of Ammon, by which they have dishonoured my people and magnified themselves over their border.

9 P randaj, ashtu siç është e vërtetë që unë rroj," thotë Zoti i ushtrive, Perëndia i Izraelit, "me siguri Moabi do të jetë si Sodoma, dhe bijtë e Amonit si Gomorra, një vend i zënë nga hithrat dhe kripërat, një shkreti përjetë. Kusuri i popullit tim do t’i plaçkitë dhe mbeturina e popullit tim do t’i zotërojë.

Therefore as I live, said the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom and the sons of Ammon as Gomorrah, even a field of nettles and saltpits and a perpetual desolation; the remnant of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my Gentiles shall inherit them.

10 K jo do t’u ndodhë për shkak të kryelartësisë së tyre, sepse kanë fyer dhe trajtuar me arrogancë popullin e Zotit të ushtrive.

This shall come upon them for their pride because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of the hosts.

11 Z oti do të jetë i tmerrshëm kundër tyre, sepse do t’i përkulë tërë perënditë e tokës; dhe secili do ta adhurojë nga vendi i tij, po, tërë ishujt e kombeve.

The LORD shall be terrible against them for he will weaken all the gods of the earth; and each one from his place shall worship him, even all the isles of the Gentiles.

12 E dhe ju, Etiopas, do të vriteni nga shpata ime".

¶ Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.

13 A i do të shtrijë dorën kundër veriut, do të shkatërrojë Asirinë dhe do ta bëjë Niniven shkreti, një vend të thatë si shkretëtira.

And he will stretch out his hand over the north wind and destroy Assyria and will make Nineveh a desolation and dry like a wilderness.

14 N ë mes të tij do të struken kopetë, tërë kafshët e kombeve; si pelikani ashtu dhe çafka do të kalojnë natën mbi kapitelet e shtyllave të tij; zëri i tyre do të dëgjohet në dritare; shkretimi do të jetë mbi pragje, sepse do të shkatërrojë veshjen me panela kedri.

And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the Gentiles; both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in her thresholds; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the gates: for her cedar work shall be uncovered.

15 K y është qyteti i qejfeve që rrinte i sigurt dhe thoshte në zemër të vet: "Unë, dhe askush tjetër veç meje". Vallë si u bë një shkreti, një vend ku struken kafshët? Kushdo që do t’i kalojë afër do të fërshëllejë dhe do të tundë dorën.

This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! anyone that passes by her shall hiss and wag his hand.
