1 J akobi, shërbëtor i Perëndisë dhe i Zotit Jezu Krisht, të dymbëdhjetë fiseve të shpërndarë nëpër botë: përshëndetje!

¶ James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus, the Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

2 T a konsideroni një gëzim të madh, o vëllezër të mi, kur ndodheni përballë sprovash nga më të ndryshmet,

¶ My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse trials,

3 d uke e ditur se sprova e besimit tuaj sjell qëndrueshmëri.

knowing that the proving of your faith works patience,

4 D he qëndrueshmëria të kryejë në ju një vepër të përsosur, që ju të jeni të përsosur dhe të plotë, pa asnjë të metë.

and the patience finishes the work, that ye may be perfect and entire, not lacking in anything.

5 P or në qoftë se ndonjërit nga ju i mungon urtia, le të kërkojë nga Perëndia, që u jep të gjithëve pa kursim, pa qortuar, dhe atij do t’i jepet.

And if any of you lacks wisdom, let them ask of God (who gives abundantly to all, and without reproach), and it shall be given them.

6 P or le ta kërkojë me besim, pa dyshuar, sepse ai që dyshon i ngjan valës së detit, të cilën e ngre dhe e përplas era.

But ask in faith, not doubting anything. For he that doubts is like the wave of the sea which is driven of the wind and is tossed from one side to another.

7 D he ky njeri të mos pandehë se do të marrë diçka nga Zoti,

For let not such a man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.

8 s epse është një njeri me dy mendje, i paqëndrueshëm në gjithë rrugët e veta.

The double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

9 D he vëllai më i poshtmë le të madhështohet në lartësimin e tij,

Let the brother of low degree rejoice in his high status;

10 d he i pasuri në uljen e tij, sepse do të shkojë si lule bari.

and he who is rich, in his low status, because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

11 N ë fakt si lindi dielli me të nxehtit e tij dhe e thau barin, dhe lulja e tij ra dhe bukuria e pamjes së vet humbi: kështu do të fishket edhe i pasuri në udhët e tij.

For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withers the grass, and its flower falls, and the beautiful appearance of it perishes: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

12 L um njeriu që ngulmon në provë, sepse kur del i aprovuar, do të marrë kurorën e jetës, të cilën Zoti ua premtoi atyre që e duan.

Blessed is the man that patiently endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those that love him.

13 A skush kur tundohet të mos thotë: “Jam tunduar nga Perëndinë,” sepse Perëndia nuk mund të tundohet nga e keqja, dhe ai vet nuk tundon asnjeri.

¶ Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does he tempt anyone:

14 P or secili tundohet i udhëhequr dhe i mashtruar nga lakminë e vet.

But each one is tempted, when they are drawn away of their own lust and enticed.

15 P astaj lakmia, pasi mbarset, pjell mëkatin dhe mëkati, si të kryhet, ngjiz vdekjen.

Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin; and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

16 M os u mashtroni, vëllezërit e mi shumë të dashur;

Do not err, my beloved brethren.

17 ç do gjë e mirë që na jepet dhe çdo dhuratë e përsosur vjen prej së larti dhe zbret nga Ati i dritave, pranë së cilit nuk ka ndërrim dhe as hije ndryshimi.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning.

18 A i na ngjizi me vullnetin e tij me anë të fjalës të së vërtetës, që ne të jemi në një farë menyrë fryti i parë i krijesave të tij.

He, of his own will, has begotten us with the word of truth, that we should be the firstfruits of his creatures.

19 P randaj, vëllezërit e mi shumë të dashur, çdo njeri të jetë i shpejtë në të dëgjuar, i ngadalshëm në të folur dhe i ngadalshëm në zemërim,

¶ Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;

20 s epse zemërimi i njeriut nuk kryen drejtësinë e Perëndisë.

for the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God.

21 P randaj, hiqni çdo ndyrësi dhe mbeturinë ligësie, pranoni me butësi fjalën e mbjellë në ju, e cila mund të shpëtojë shpirtrat tuaj.

So then, leave all uncleanness and remains of malice and receive with meekness the word ingested within you, which is able to cause your souls to be saved.

22 D he bëhuni bërës të fjalës dhe jo vetëm dëgjues, që gënjejnë vetveten.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23 S epse nëse dikush është dëgjues i fjalës dhe jo bërës, ai i përngjan një njeriu që e shikon fytyrën e tij natyrale në një pasqyrë;

For if anyone hears the word and does not put it into practice, this same is like unto the man beholding his natural face in a mirror:

24 a i e shikon veten dhe pastaj ikën, duke harruar menjëherë si ishte.

For he considered himself and went his way and in one hour forgot what he was like.

25 N dërsa ai që do të shikojë me vemendje ligjin e përsosur, i cili është ligji i lirisë, dhe ngulmon në të, duke mos qenë një dëgjues harraq, por një bërës i veprës, ai do të jetë i lumtur në veprimtarinë e vet.

But whosoever has looked attentively into the perfect law of liberty and has persevered in it, not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, the same shall be blessed in their deed.

26 N ë qoftë se ndokush nga ju mendon se është fetar, edhe nuk i vë fre gjuhës së vet, sigurisht ai e mashtron zemrën e vet, feja e këtij është e kotë.

If anyone among you thinks to be religious and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, his religion is vain.

27 F eja e pastër dhe pa njollë përpara Perëndisë dhe Atit është kjo: të vizitosh jetimët dhe të vejat në pikëllimet e tyre dhe ta ruash veten të pastër nga bota.

The pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation and to keep thyself unspotted from this world.
