1 « فِي ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ، سَيَقِفُ الرَّئِيسُ العَظِيمُ مِيخائِيلُ المَسؤُولُ عَن خِدمَةِ شَعبِكَ، وَسَيَكُونُ هُناكَ وَقتُ ضِيقٍ لَمْ يَأتِ مِثلُهُ مُنذُ صارُوا أُمَّةً وَحَتَّى ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ. فِي ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ، سَيَنجُو كُلُّ شَعبِكَ الَّذِينَ أسماؤُهُمْ مَكتُوبَةٌ فِي الكِتابِ

¶ And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who is for the sons of thy people, and it shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there were people until now, but in that time thy people shall escape, all those that are found written in the book.

2 و َكُلُّ الرّاقِدِينَ فِي تُرابِ الأرْضِ سَيَقُومُونَ، بَعضُهُمْ إلَى الحَياةِ الأبَدِيَّةِ وَبَعضُهُمْ إلَى العارِ وَالِازدِراءِ الأبَدِيَّيْنِ.

And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall be awakened, some for eternal life, and some for shame and everlasting confusion.

3 و َالحُكَماءُ سَيُشرِقُونَ كَقُبَّةِ السَّماءِ اللّامِعَةِ، وَالَّذِينَ قادُوا كَثِيرِينَ إلَى البِرِّ سَيَصِيرُونَ كَالنُّجُومِ إلَى أبَدِ الآبِدِينَ.

And those that understand shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and those that teach righteousness to the multitude as the stars in perpetual eternity.

4 « وَأمّا أنتَ يا دانِيالُ، فَأخْفِ هَذا الكَلامَ وَاختِمْهُ حَتَّى وَقتِ النِّهايَةِ. سَيَجُولُ أُناسٌ كَثِيرُونَ فِي طُولِ الأرْضِ وَعَرضِها، وَالمَعرِفَةُ تَزدادُ.»

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end: many shall pass by, and knowledge shall be multiplied.

5 و َبَينَما كُنتُ أنظُرُ، وَقَفَ فَجأةً اثْنانِ آخَرانِ هُناكَ، واحِدٌ عَلَى كُلِّ ضِفَّةٍ.

¶ Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, another two who stood, one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

6 و َسَألَ أحَدُهُما الرَّجُلَ اللّابِسَ الكِتّانَ الَّذِي كانَ يَقِفُ فَوقَ المِياهِ وَسَطَ النَّهرِ: «مَتَى تَنتَهِي هَذِهِ الأُمُورُ البَغِيضَةُ؟»

And one said to the Man clothed in linens, who was upon the waters of the river, When shall be the end of these wonders?

7 ف َرَفعَ الرَّجُلَ اللّابِسَ الكِتّانَ الَّذِي كانَ يَقِفُ فَوقَ مِياهِ النَّهرِ يَدَيهِ نَحوَ السَّماءِ، وَأقسَمَ بِاسْمِ الحَيِّ إلَى الأبَدِ وَقالَ: «سَيَكُونُ ذلِكَ لِثَلاثَةِ مَواسِمَ وَنِصفِ مَوسِمٍ. فَعِندَما تُكسَرُ قُوَّةُ الشَّعبِ المُقَدَّسِ، سَتَكتَمِلُ هَذِهِ الأُمُورُ كُلُّها.»

And I heard the Man clothed in linens, who was upon the waters of the river, who raised his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and swore by the living one in the ages that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when the scattering of the power of the holy people shall be finished, all these things shall be fulfilled.

8 ف َسَمِعْتُ، وَلَكِنَّنِي لَمْ أفهَمْ، فَقُلْتُ: «يا سَيِّدِي، ماذا سيَحدُثُ بَعدَ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ؟»

And I heard, but I did not understand; then I said, O my Lord, what is the fulfillment of these things?

9 ف َقالَ: «اذهَبْ فِي سَبيلِكَ يا دانِيالُ، لأنَّ هَذِهِ الكَلِماتِ سَتَبقَى مَخفِيَّةً وَمَختُومَةً حَتَّى النِّهايَةِ.

And he said, Go thy way, Daniel, for these words are closed up and sealed until the time of the fulfillment.

10 ك َثِيرُونَ سَيَتِمُّ تَطهِيرُهُمْ وَتَبيِيضُهُمْ وَتَنقِيَتُهُمْ، أمّا الأشرارُ فَسَيُدانُونَ. لَنْ يَفهَمَ أحَدٌ مِنَ الأشرارِ هَذِهِ الأُمورَ، وَأمّا العُقَلاءُ فَسَيَفهَمُونَ.

Many shall be purified and made white and purged, but the wicked shall get worse; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

11 « فَمِنْ وَقتِ إزالَةِ الذَّبِيحَةِ اليَومِيَّةِ وَحَتَّى إقامَةِ النَّجِسِ المُخَرِّبِ، سَيَكُونُ هُناكَ ألفٌ وَمِئَتانِ وَتِسعُونَ يَوماً.

And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away until the abomination of desolation, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

12 ه َنِيئاً لِمَن يُثابِرُ وَيَصِلُ إلَى اليَومِ الألفِ وَالثَلاثِ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسٍ وَثَلاثِينَ.

Blessed is he that waits and comes unto one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

13 « وَأمّا أنتَ يا دانِيالُ، فَاذهَبْ وَعِشْ حَياتَكَ حَتَّى النِّهايَةِ. وَسَتَرقُدُ وَتَقُومُ فِي نِهايَةِ الأيّامِ لِتَأخُذَ نَصِيبَكَ.»

And thou shall go to the end and shalt rest, and thou shalt raise up in thy lot at the end of the days.
