1 ه َذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ مُوآبَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَزايِدَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لِأنَّهُمْ أحرَقُوا عِظامَ مَلِكِ أدُومَ حَتَّى تَفَتَّتْ كالكِلْسِ.

¶ Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Moab and for the fourth, I will not convert her because she burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime;

2 و َلِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى مُوآبَ، لِتَلتَهِمَ قُصُورَ مَدِينَةِ قَرْيُوتَ. وَسَيَمُوتُ مُوآبُ فِي ضَجِيجِ المَعرَكَةِ، وَسَطَ الصُّراخِ وَأصَواتِ البوقِ.

but I will send fire in Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth; and Moab shall die in tumult, with shouting and with the sound of the shofar:

3 و َسَأُزِيلُ الحاكِمَ مِنهُ، وَسَأقتُلُ كُلَّ رُؤَسائِهِ مَعَهُ.» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ. عِقابُ يَهُوذا

and I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof and will slay all the princes thereof with him, said the LORD.

4 ه َذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ بَنِي يَهُوذا المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ رَفَضُوا أنْ يُطِيعُوا شَرِيعَةَ الله ، وَلَمْ يَحفَظُوا فَرائِضَهُ. قَدِ انْحَرَفُوا وَراءَ الأكاذِيبِ الَّتِي تَبِعَها آباؤُهُمْ.

Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Judah and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they have despised the law of the LORD and have not kept his statutes, and their lies caused them to err after which their fathers have walked:

5 و َلِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى يَهُوذا، فَتَلتَهِمَ قُصُورَ مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ بِالكامِلِ.» عِقابُ إسْرائِيل

but I will send fire in Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

6 ه َذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ باعُوا الأبرِياءَ الصّالِحِينَ كَعَبِيدٍ بِفِضَّةٍ، وَالمَساكِينَ بِثَمَنِ حِذاءٍ.

Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Israel and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they sold the righteous for silver and the poor for a pair of shoes,

7 ي َدُوسُونَ رُؤُوسَ الضُّعَفاءِ كَما لَوْ كانُوا يَدُوسُونَ تُرابَ الأرْضِ، كَما يَدفَعُونَ المَساكِينَ إلَى خارِجِ الطَّرِيقِ. الرَّجُلُ وَأبُوهُ يُعاشِرانِ الفَتاةَ ذاتَها. وَلِذَلِكَ فَإنَّ اسْمِي المُقَدَّسَ يَتَعَرَّضُ لِلتَّدنِيسِ.

desiring that there be dust of the earth upon the head of the poor, and to twist the way of the humble: and the man and his father have gone in unto the same maid, profaning my holy name:

8 ي َستَلقُونَ بِجانِبِ كُلِّ مَذبَحٍ عَلَى ثِيابٍ سَلَبوها مِنَ الفُقَراءِ كَرَهنٍ عَلَى ديُونِهِمْ. فِي بَيتِ إلَهِهِمْ يَشرَبُونَ الخَمرَ الَّتِي حَصَلُوا عَلَيها كَغَرامَةٍ مِنَ الآخرِينَ.

and they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by any altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.

9 أ نا مَنْ أبادَ الأمُورِيِّينَ مِنْ أمامِهِمْ، الَّذِينَ كانُوا طِوالاً كَشَجَرِ الأرْزِ وَأقوِياءَ كَالبَلُّوطِ. قَدْ أبَدْتُهُمْ بِالكامِلِ.

¶ Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as an oak; yet I destroyed his fruit above and his roots beneath.

10 أ نا أخْرَجْتُكُمْ مِنْ أرْضِ مِصْرَ وَقُدتُكُمْ فِي البَرِّيَّةِ أِرْبَعِينَ سَنَةٍ، لِتَمتَلِكُوا أرْضَ الأمُورِيِّينَ.

Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt and led you forty years through the wilderness that you might possess the land of the Amorite.

11 أ نا مَنِ اختارَ بَعضَ أبنائِكُمْ لِيَكُونُوا أنبِياءً، وَبَعضَ شَبابِكُم لِيَكُونُوا نَذِيرِينَ. ألَيسَ كَذَلِكَ يا بَني إسْرائِيلَ؟» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ.

And I raised up of your sons for prophets and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye sons of Israel? said the LORD.

12 « لَكِنَّكُمْ جَعَلْتُمُ النَذِيرِينَ يَشرَبُونَ خَمْراً كاسِرِينَ عُهُودَهُمْ. وَأمرتُمِ الأنبِياءَ وَقُلْتُمْ لَهُمْ: ‹لا تَتَنَبَّأُوا.›

But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink, and commanded the prophets, saying, Do not prophesy.

13 ل ِذَلِكَ ها أنا أُضغَطُ بِسَبَبِكُمْ كَما تُضغَطُ عَرَبَةٌ مُحَمَّلَةٌ بِحُزَمِ القَمحِ!

Behold, I will press you in your place, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.

14 ل َنْ يَكُونَ السَّرِيعُ قادِراً عَلَى الهَرَبِ، وَلَنْ يَحتَفِظَ الأقوِياءُ بِقُوَّتِهِمْ، وَلَنْ يَستَطِيعَ حَتَّى الجُنُودُ أنْ يُنقِذُوا أنفُسَهمْ.

Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver his soul:

15 ل َنْ يَصْمِدَ حامِلُوا الأقواسِ فِي المَعرَكَةِ، وَلَنْ يَهرُبَ السَّرِيعُونَ فِي الجَريِ، وَلَنْ يُخَلِّصَ راكِبُو الخُيُولِ أنفُسَهُمْ.

neither shall he that handles the bow stand; and he that is swift of foot shall not escape: neither shall he that rides the horse save his life.

16 و َأشجَعُ المُقاتِلِينَ سَيَهْرُبُونَ تارِكِينَ أسلِحَتَهُمْ خَلفَهُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ.» هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ.

And he that is strong among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, said the LORD.
