1 ف ِيما يَلِي أسْماءَ سُكّانِ مِنْطَقَةِ يَهُوذا الَّذِينَ عادُوا مِنَ السَّبيِ، الَّذِينَ كانَ المَلِكُ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرُ قَد سَبَى عَشائِرَهُمْ إلَى بابِلَ. وَقَد عادُوا جَمِيعاً إلَى مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ وَيَهُوذا، كُلُّ واحِدٍ إلَى بَلدَتِهِ.

¶ Now these are the sons of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and that returned unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city,

2 ع ادُوا مَعَ زَرُبّابِلَ وَيَشُوعَ وَنَحَمْيا وَسَرايا وَرَعْلايا وَمُرْدَخايَ وَبِلْشانَ وَمِسْفارَ وَبِغْوايَ وَرَحُومَ وَبَعنَةَ. وَهَذِهِ قائِمَةٌ بِبَنِي إسْرائِيلَ العائِدِينَ:

which came with Zerubbabel: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

3 ب َنُو فَرْعُوشَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفانِ وَمِئَةٌ وَاثنانِ وَسَبعُونَ.

The sons of Parosh, two thousand one hundred seventy-two.

4 ب َنُو شَفَطْيا وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَاثنانِ وَسَبعُون.

The sons of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy-two.

5 ب َنُو آرَحَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَسَبعُونَ.

The sons of Arah, seven hundred seventy-five.

6 ب َنُو فَحَثَ مُوآبَ، مِنْ عائِلَةِ يَشُوعَ وَيُوآبَ، وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفانِ وَثَمانُ مِئَةٍ وَاثنا عَشَرَ.

The sons of Pahathmoab, of the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.

7 ب َنُو عِيلامَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَمِئَتانِ وَأربَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

The sons of Elam, one thousand two hundred and fifty-four.

8 ب َنُو زَتُّو وَعَدَدُهُمْ تِسعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ.

The sons of Zattu, nine hundred and forty-five.

9 ب َنُو زَكّايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَسِتُّونَ.

The sons of Zaccai, seven hundred and seventy.

10 ب َنُو بانِي وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَاثنانِ وَأربَعُونَ.

The sons of Bani, six hundred and forty-two.

11 ب َنُو بابايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

The sons of Bebai, six hundred and twenty-three.

12 ب َنُو عَرْجَدَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَمِئَتانِ وَاثنانِ وَعِشرُونَ.

The sons of Azgad, one thousand two hundred and twenty-two.

13 ب َنُو أدُونِيقامَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَسِتَّةٌ وَسِتُّونَ.

The sons of Adonikam, six hundred and sixty-six.

14 ب َنُو بِغْوايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفانِ وَسِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

The sons of Bigvai, two thousand and fifty-six.

15 ب َنُو عادِينَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ أربَعُ مِئَةٍ وَأرْبَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

The sons of Adin, four hundred and fifty-four.

16 ب َنُو آطِيرَ، مِنْ عائِلَةِ حَزَقِيّا، وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَمانِيَةٌ وَتِسعُونَ.

The sons of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety-eight.

17 ب َنُو بِيصايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٍ وَعِشرُونَ.

The sons of Bezai, three hundred and twenty-three.

18 ب َنُو يُورَةَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَاثنا عَشَرَ.

The sons of Jorah, one hundred and twelve.

19 ب َنُو حَشُومَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَتانِ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

The sons of Hashum, two hundred and twenty-three.

20 ب َنُو جِبّارَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ خَمسَةٌ وَتِسعُونَ.

The sons of Gibbar, ninety-five.

21 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ بَيتَ لَحْمَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

The sons of Bethlehem, one hundred and twenty-three.

22 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ نَطُوفَةُ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

The men of Netophah, fifty-six.

23 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ عَناثُوثَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَثَمانِيَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

The men of Anathoth, one hundred and twenty-eight.

24 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ عَزْمُوتَ وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنانِ وَأربَعُونَ.

The sons of Azmaveth, forty-two.

25 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ قَريَةِ عارِيمَ وَكَفِيرَةَ وَبِئِيرُوتَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ.

The sons of Kirjatharim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty-three.

26 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَتَيِّ الرّامَةِ وَجَبَعَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مئَةٍ وَواحِدٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

The sons of Ramah and Gaba, six hundred and twenty-one.

27 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ مِخْماسَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةُ وَاثنانِ وَعِشرُونَ.

The men of Michmas, one hundred and twenty-two.

28 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَتَيّ إيلَ وَعايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَتانِ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

The men of Bethel and Ai, two hundred and twenty-three.

29 ا لرِّجال مِنْ بَلدَةِ نَبُو وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

The sons of Nebo, fifty-two.

30 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ مَغْبِيشَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَسِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

The sons of Magbish, one hundred and fifty-six.

31 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ عِيلامَ الأُخرَى وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَمِئَتانِ وَأربَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

The sons of the other Elam, one thousand two hundred and fifty-four.

32 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ حارِيمَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَعِشرُونَ.

The sons of Harim, three hundred and twenty.

33 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلداتِ لُودَ وَحادِيدَ وَأُونُو وَعَدَدُهُمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

The sons of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred and twenty-five.

34 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ أرِيحا وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ.

The sons of Jericho, three hundred and forty-five.

35 ا لرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ سَناءَةَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثَةُ آلافٍ وَسِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثُونَ.

The sons of Senaah, three thousand six hundred and thirty.

36 أ مّا الكَهَنَةُ العائِدُونَ فَهُمْ: بَنُو يَدْعِيّا، مِنْ عائِلَةِ يَشُوعَ، وَعَدَدُهُمْ تِسعُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَسَبعُونَ.

¶ The priests: the sons of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred and seventy-three.

37 ب َنُو إمِّيرَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَاثنانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

The sons of Immer, one thousand and fifty-two.

38 ب َنُو فَشْحُورَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَمِئَتانِ وَسَبعَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ.

The sons of Pashur, one thousand two hundred and forty-seven.

39 ب َنُو حارِيمَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَسَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ.

The sons of Harim, one thousand and seventeen.

40 أ مّا اللّاوِيُّونَ فَهُمْ: بَنُو يَشُوعَ وَقَدْمِيئِيلَ، مِنْ عائِلَةِ هُودُويا، وَعَدَدُهُمْ أربَعَةٌ وَسَبعُونَ.

The Levites: the sons of Jeshua and of Kadmiel, of the sons of Hodaviah, seventy-four.

41 و َالمُرَنِّمُونَ: بَنُو آسافَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَثَمانِيَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

The singers: the sons of Asaph, one hundred and twenty-eight.

42 و َبَنُو حُرّاس بَوّاباتِ الهَيكَلِ: بَنُو شَلُّومَ وَآطِيرَ وَطَلْمُونَ وَعُقُّوبَ وَحَطِيطا وَشُوبايَ، وَعَدَدُهُمْ جَمِيعاً مِئَةٌ وَتِسعَةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ.

The sons of the porters: the sons of Shallum, the sons of Ater, the sons of Talmon, the sons of Akkub, the sons of Hatita, the sons of Shobai, in all one hundred and thirty-nine.

43 أ مّا خُدّامِ الهَيكَلِ فَهُمْ: بَنُو صِيحا وَحَسُوفا وَطَباعُوتَ،

The Nethinims: the sons of Ziha, the sons of Hasupha, the sons of Tabbaoth,

44 و َبَنُو قِيرُوسَ وَسيعَها وَفادُونَ،

the sons of Keros, the sons of Siaha, the sons of Padon,

45 و َبَنُو لَبانَةَ وَحَجابَةَ وَعَقُّوبَ،

the sons of Lebanah, the sons of Hagabah, the sons of Akkub,

46 و َبَنُو حاجابَ وَشَمُلايَ وَحانانَ،

the sons of Hagab, the sons of Shalmai, the sons of Hanan,

47 و َبَنُو جَدِيلَ وَحَجَرَ وَرَآيا،

the sons of Giddel, the sons of Gahar, the sons of Reaiah,

48 و َبَنُو رَصِينَ وَنَقُودا وَجَزّامَ،

the sons of Rezin, the sons of Nekoda, the sons of Gazzam,

49 و َبَنُو عُزّا وَفاسِيحَ وَبِيسايَ،

the sons of Uzza, the sons of Paseah, the sons of Besai,

50 و َبَنُو أسْنَةَ وَمَعُونِيمَ وَنَفُوسِيمَ،

the sons of Asnah, the sons of Mehunim, the sons of Nephusim,

51 و َبَنُو بَقْبُوقَ وَحَقُوفا وَحَرْحُورَ،

the sons of Bakbuk, the sons of Hakupha, the sons of Harhur,

52 و َبَنُو بَصلُوتَ وَمَحِيدا وَحَرْشا،

the sons of Bazluth, the sons of Mehida, the sons of Harsha,

53 و َبَنُو بَرْقُوسَ وَسِيسَرا وَثامَحَ،

the sons of Barkos, the sons of Sisera, the sons of Thamah,

54 و َبَنُو نَصِيحَ وَحَطِيفا.

the sons of Neziah, the sons of Hatipha.

55 أ مّا خُدّامِ سُلَيْمانَ فَهُمْ: بَنُو سُوطايَ وَهَسُّوفَرَثَ وَفَرُودا.

The sons of Solomon’s slaves: the sons of Sotai, the sons of Sophereth, the sons of Peruda,

56 و َبَنُو يَعلَةَ وَدَرْقُونَ وَجَدِّيلَ،

the sons of Jaalah, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel,

57 و َبَنُو شَفَطْيا وَحَطِّيلَ وَفُوخَرَةِ الظِّباءِ وَآمِي.

the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, the sons of Ami.

58 ف َبَلَغَ عَدَدُ خُدّامِ الهَيكَلِ وَأبناءُ خُدّامِ سُلَيْمانَ ثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَينِ وَتِسعِينَ شَخصاً.

All the Nethinims and the sons of Solomon’s slaves, were three hundred and ninety-two.

59 و َجاءَتِ الجَماعاتُ التّالِيَةُ مِنْ مُدُنِ تَلِّ مِلْحٍ وَتَلِّ حَرْشا وَكَرُوبَ وَأدّانَ وَإمِّيرَ، وَلَكِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَتَمَكَّنُوا مِنْ إثباتِ نَسَبِهِمْ إلَى بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ:

And these were those which went up from Telmelah, Telharsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer, but they could not show their father’s house and their seed, whether they were of Israel.

60 ب َنُو دَلايا وَطُوبِيّا وَنَقُودا وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَاثنانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

The sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, six hundred and fifty-two.

61 و َمِن عائِلَةِ الكَهَنَةِ: بَنُو حَبايا وَهَقُّوصَ وَبَرْزِلّايَ الَّذِي كانَ قَد تَزَوَّجَ مِنْ إحدَى بَناتِ بَرْزَلّايَ الجِلْعادِيِّ، فَدُعِيَ بِاسْمِهِ.

And of the sons of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Koz, the sons of Barzillai; who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai, the Gileadite, and was called after their name.

62 ب َحَثَ هَؤلاءِ فِي السِّجِلّاتِ الرَّسمِيَّةِ عَن أصلِهِم وَنَسَبِهِمْ، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ ذِكرٌ فِيها، فَتَمَّ استِثْناؤُهُمْ مِنْ خِدْمَةِ الكَهَنُوتِ.

These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found; therefore, they were, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

63 و َأمَرَهُمِ الوالِي بِأنْ لا يَأكُلُوا مِنْ أطعِمَةِ قُدسِ الأقداسِ إلَى أن يَظهَرَ كاهِنٌ يَستَطِيعُ أن يَسألَ اللهَ بِواسِطَةِ الأُورِيمِ وَالتُّمِّيمِ فِي أمرِهِمْ.

And the Tirshatha said unto them that they should not eat of the most holy things until there stood up a priest with Urim and Thummim.

64 و َقَد بَلَغَ مَجمُوعُ الجَماعَةِ اثْنَينِ وَأربَعِينَ ألفاً وَثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وستِّينَ شَخصاً.

¶ The whole congregation united as one man was forty-two thousand three hundred and seventy,

65 ه َذا بِالإضافَةِ إلَى خُدّامِهِمْ وَخادِماتِهِمِ الَّذِينَ بَلَغَ عَدَدُهُمْ سَبْعَةَ آلافٍ وَثَلاثَمِئَةٍ وَسَبْعَةً وَثَلاثِينَ. كَما كانَ مَعَهُمْ مِئَتا مُرَنِّمٍ وَمُرَنِّمَةٍ.

besides their slaves and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven; and there were among them two hundred men and women who were singers.

66 و َكانَ لَدَيهِمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَسِتَّةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ حِصاناً، وَمِئَتانُ وَخَمسَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ بَغلاً،

Their horses were seven hundred and thirty-six; their mules, two hundred and forty-five;

67 و َأربَعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ جَمَلاً، وَسِتَّةُ آلافٍ وَسَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَعِشرُونَ حِماراً.

their camels, four hundred and thirty-five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

68 و َقَدَّمَ بَعضُ رُؤَساءِ العائِلاتِ وَالعَشائِرِ عِندَ وُصُولِهِمْ إلَى بَيتِ اللهِ فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ، تَبَرُّعاتٍ لِبَيتِ اللهِ، مِنْ أجلِ أن يُعادَ بِناؤُهُ فِي مَكانِهِ.

And some of the heads of the fathers, when they came to the house of the LORD which was at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place.

69 ف َكانَت تَبَرُّعاتُهُمْ لِهَذا البِناءِ قَدرَ طاقَتِهِمْ: واحِداً وَسِتِّينَ ألفَ دِرْهَمٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ، وَخَمسَةَ آلافِ رَطلٍ مِنَ الفِضَّةِ، وَمِئَةَ ثَوبٍ للكَهَنَةِ.

They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work sixty-one thousand drams of gold and five thousand pounds of silver and one hundred priests’ garments.

70 و َأقامَ الكَهَنَةُ وَاللّاوِيُّونَ وَبَعضُ الشَّعبِ فِي مُدُنِهِمْ مَعَ المُغَنِّينَ وَحُرّاسِ الأبْوابِ وَخُدّامِ الهَيكَلِ. وَسَكَنَ جَمِيعُ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ فِي مُدُنِهِمْ.

So the priests and the Levites and those of the people and the singers and the porters and the Nethinims dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
