1 ف َقالَ اللهُ لِمُوسَى: «سَتَرَى ما سَأفعَلُهُ بِفِرْعَونَ، فَيُرسِلَهُمْ بِقُوَّتِهِ وَيُخْرِجَهُمْ مِنْ مِصرَ، مِنْ أرْضِهِ.»

¶ Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now thou shalt see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he must let them go, and with a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land.

2 و َكَلَّمَ اللهُ مُوسَى وَقالَ لَهُ: «أنا يهوه

And God spoke unto Moses and said unto him, I am the LORD;

3 ظ َهَرْتُ لإبراهِيمَ وَإسْحاقَ وَيَعقُوبَ بِصِفَتِي اللهَ الجَبّارُ، لَكِنَّهُم لَمْ يَعْرِفُونِي بِاسْمِي يهوه.

and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD (YHWH) I was not known to them.

4 و َقَدْ قَطَعْتُ عَهدِي مَعَهُمْ وَوَعَدْتُ بِأنْ أُعطِيَهُمْ أرْضَ كَنعانَ الَّتِي كانُوا يَعِيشُونَ بِها كَغُرَباءَ.

And I also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers.

5 « كَما سَمِعْتُ أنِينَ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ الَّذِينَ يُجبِرُهُمُ المِصرِيُّونَ عَلَى العَمَلِ، وَتَذَكَّرْتُ عَهدِي.

And likewise I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant.

6 ل ِذَلِكَ قُلْ لِبَني إسْرائِيلَ: ‹أنا يهوه، وَسَأُخْرِجُكُمْ مِنْ تَحتِ أحمالِ مِصرَ. سَأُنقِذُكُمْ مِنَ اسْتِعبادِهِمْ لَكُمْ، وَسَأفدِيكُمْ بِذِراعٍ مَمدُودَةٍ وَبِأحكامٍ عَظِيمَةٍ.

Therefore say unto the sons of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will free you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm and with great judgments.

7 س َأتَّخِذُكُمْ شَعباً لِي، وَسَأكُونُ إلَهَكُمْ. وَسَتَعرِفُونَ أنِّي أنا يهوه إلَهُكُمْ، وَسَتَرَونَ إنِّي سَأُحَرِّرَكُمْ مِنْ تَحْتِ أحْمالِ المِصْرِيِّينِ.

And I will take you as my people, and I will be your God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

8 س َآتِي بِكُمْ إلَى الأرْضِ الَّتِي أقسَمْتُ بِأنْ أُعطِيَها لإبراهِيمَ وَإسْحاقَ وَيَعقُوبَ. أنا يهوه، وَسَأُعطِيها مُلكاً لَكُمْ.›»

And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning which I raised my hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it unto you for a heritage: I am the LORD.

9 ف َتَكَلَّمَ مُوسَى بِهَذا الكَلامِ لِبَنِي إسْرائِيلَ، لَكِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَسْتَمِعُوا لِمُوسَى بِسَبَبِ نَفادِ صَبرِهِمْ، وَبِسَبَبِ الإحْباطِ وَالعُبُودِيَّةِ القاسِيَةِ الَّتِي كانُوا فِيها.

In this manner Moses spoke unto the sons of Israel, but they did not hearken unto Moses because of their anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.

10 و َتَكَلَّمَ اللهُ إلَى مُوسَى، فَقالَ:

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

11 « اذْهَبْ وَقُلْ لِفِرعَونَ مَلِكِ مِصرَ بِأنْ يُطلِقَ بَني إسْرائِيلَ مِنْ أرْضِهِ.»

Go in, speak unto Pharaoh, king of Egypt, that he let the sons of Israel go out of his land.

12 ل َكِنَّ مُوسَى قالَ للهِ: «ها إنَّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ لا يَستَمِعُونَ إلَيَّ، فَكَيفَ سَيَستَمِعُ فِرعَوْنُ؟ كَما أنِّي لا أُحسِنُ الكَلامَ.»

And Moses answered before the LORD, saying, Behold, the sons of Israel do not hearken unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, seeing I am of uncircumcised lips?

13 و َتَكَلَّمَ اللهُ لِمُوسَى وَهارُونَ وَأمَرَهُما بِأنْ يَذهَبا إلَى بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ وَفِرعَونَ، لِيُخرِجا بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ مِنْ أرْضِ مِصْرَ. بَعضُ قَبائِلِ إسرائيل

Then the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron and gave them a commandment unto the sons of Israel and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

14 ه َؤُلاءِ هُمْ رُؤَساءُ بُيُوتِ الآباءِ. أبناءُ رَأُوبَيْنَ، بِكرِ إسْرائِيلَ، هُمْ حَنُوكُ وَفَلُّو وَحَصرُونُ وَكَرمِي. هَذِهِ هِيَ عَشائِرُ رَأُوبَيْنَ.

¶ These are the heads of their fathers’ families: The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Enoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.

15 و َأبناءُ شِمعُونَ هُمْ يَمُوئِيلُ وَيامِينُ وَأُوهَدُ وَياكِينُ وَصُوحَرُ وَشَاوُلُ ابْنُ المَرأةِ الكَنعانِيَّةِ. هَذِهِ هِيَ عَشائِرُ شِمعُونَ.

And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Saul the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon.

16 و َهَذِهِ هِيَ أسْماءُ أبناءِ لاوِي بِحَسَبِ أجيالِهِمْ: جَرْشُونُ وَقَهاتُ وَمَرارِي. وَعاشَ لاوِي مِئَةً وَسَبْعاً وَثَلاثِينَ سَنَةً.

And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their lineages: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Levi were one hundred thirty-seven years.

17 و َابْنا جَرْشُونَ هُما لِبْنِي وَشِمْعِي مَعَ عَشائِرِهِما.

The sons of Gershon: Libni, and Shimi, according to their families.

18 و َأبناءُ قَهاتَ هُمْ عَمْرامُ وَيِصْهارُ وَحَبْرُونُ وَعُزِّيئِيلَ. وَعاشَ قَهاتُ مِئَةً وَثَلاثاً وَثَلاثِينَ سَنَةً.

And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. And the years of the life of Kohath were one hundred thirty-three years.

19 و َابْنا مَرارِي هُما مَحلِي وَمُوشِي. هَذِهِ هِيَ عَشائِرُ الَّلاوِيِّينَ حَسَبَ أجيالِهِمْ.

And the sons of Merari: Mahali and Mushi; these are the families of Levi according to their lineages.

20 و َاتَّخَذَ عَمْرامُ عَمَّتَهُ يُوكابَدَ زَوجَةً لَهُ، فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ هارُونَ وَمُوسَى. وَعاشَ عَمْرامُ مِئَةً وَسَبْعاً وَثَلاثِينَ سَنَةً.

And Amram took Jochebed, his father’s sister to wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of the life of Amram were one hundred thirty-seven years.

21 و َأبناءُ يِصْهارَ هُمْ قُورَحُ وَنافَجُ وَزِكْرِي.

And the sons of Izhar: Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.

22 و َأبْناءُ عُزِّيئِيلَ هُمْ مِيشائِيلُ وَألْصافانُ وَسِتْرِي.

And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, Elzaphan, and Zithri.

23 و َتَزَوَّجَ هارُونُ مِنْ ألِيشابَعَ ابْنَةِ عَمِّينادابَ أختِ نَحشُونَ، وَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ نادابَ وَأبِيهُو وَألِعازارَ وَإيثامارَ.

And Aaron took Elizabeth, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to wife; and she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

24 و َأبناءُ قُورَحَ هُمْ أسِّيرُ وَألْقانَةُ وَأبِيأسافُ. وَهَذِهِ هِيَ عَشائِرُ القُورَحِيِّينَ.

And the sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korhites.

25 و َاتَّخَذَ ألِيعازارُ بْنُ هارُونَ إحدَى بَناتِ فُوطِيئِيلَ زَوجَةً لَهُ، فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ فِينْحاسَ. هَؤُلاءِ هُمْ رُؤَساءُ بُيُوتِ آباءِ الَّلاوِيِّينَ بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِمْ.

And Eleazar, Aaron’s son, took one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families.

26 ه َذانِ هُما هارُونُ وَمُوسَى اللَّذانِ قالَ اللهُ لَهُما: «أخرِجا بَني إسْرائِيلَ مِنْ أرْضِ مِصرَ بِحَسَبِ صُفُوفِهِمْ.»

These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the LORD said, Bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts.

27 و َهُما اللَّذانِ تَكَلَّما إلَى فِرعَوْنَ مَلِكِ مِصرَ لإخراجِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ مِنْ مِصرَ. هَذانِ هُما مُوسَى وَهارُونُ. تَكرارُ دَعوَةِ اللهِ لِمُوسَى

These are those who spoke to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to bring out the sons of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.

28 ح ِينَ كَلَّمَ اللهُ مُوسَى فِي أرْضِ مِصرَ،

And it came to pass on the day when the LORD spoke unto Moses in the land of Egypt,

29 ق الَ لَهُ: «أنا اللهُ. قُلْ لِفِرعَونَ مَلِكِ مِصرَ كُلَّ ما أقُولُهُ لَكَ.»

that the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, I am the LORD; speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.

30 ف َقالَ مُوسَى فِي حَضرَةِ اللهِ: «أنا لا أُجِيدُ الكَلامَ، فَكَيفَ سَيَستَمِعُ فِرعَوْنُ لِي؟»

And Moses said before the LORD, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?
