1 و َهَذِهِ هِيَ عائِلَةُ هارُونَ وَمُوسَى حِينَ كَلَّمَ اللهُ مُوسَى عَلَى جَبَلِ سِيناءَ.

¶ These also are the generations of Aaron and of Moses in the day that the LORD spoke with Moses in Mount Sinai.

2 و َهَذِهِ هِيَ أسْماءُ أبناءِ هارُونَ: نادابُ الابنُ البِكرُ، ثُمَّ أبِيهُو وَألِيعازارُ وَإيثامارُ.

And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab, the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

3 ه َذِهِ هِيَ أسْماءُ أبناءِ هارُونَ الَّذِينَ مُسِحُوا كَكَهَنَةٍ. وَقَدْ تَمَّ تَعيِينُهُمْ لِيَخدِمُوا كَكَهَنَةٍ.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, anointed priests, whose hands he filled to administer the priesthood.

4 و َلَكِنَّ نادابَ وَأبِيهُو ماتا بَينَما كانا يَخدِمانِ اللهَ حِينَ قَدَّما ناراً مِنْ مَصدَرٍ غَرِيبٍ فِي حَضْرَةِ اللهِ فِي بَرِّيَّةِ سِيناءَ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُما أبناءٌ. فَخَدَمَ ألِيعازارُ وَإيثامارُ كَكاهِنَينِ بَينَما كانَ هارُونُ حَيّاً. اللّاوِيُّونَ مُساعِدُو الكَهَنَة

But Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no sons; and Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood in the sight of Aaron, their father.

5 و َكَلَّمَ اللهُ مُوسَى فَقالَ:

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

6 « قَدِّمْ قَبِيلَةَ لاوِي لِهارُونَ الكاهِنِ كَي يُساعِدُوهُ.

Bring the tribe of Levi near and present them before Aaron, the priest, that they may minister unto him.

7 ف َلْيَخْدِمُوهُ وَيَخدِمُوا كُلَّ الجَماعَةِ أمامَ خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ، وَيَقُومُوا بِالأعمالِ الصَّعبَةِ فِي المَسْكَنِ المُقَدَّسِ.

And they shall keep his commandment and the commandment of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the testimony, to minister in the service of the tabernacle.

8 ي َحرُسُونَ جَمِيعَ أدَواتِ خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ. يَمَثِّلُونَ بِذَلِكَ جَمِيعَ بَني إسْرائِيلَ. وَيَخْدِمُونَ فِي المَسْكَنِ.

And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the testimony and the charge of the sons of Israel, to minister in the service of the tabernacle.

9 « عَيِّنِ اللّاوِيِّينَ لِمُساعَدَةِ هارُونَ وَأبْنائِهِ. يَكُونُونَ مُكَرَّسينَ بِالكامِلِ لِهارُونَ مِنْ بَينِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ.

And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons; they are completely given unto him out of the sons of Israel.

10 « عَيِّنْ هارُونَ وَأبناءَهُ لِيَقُومُوا بِواجِباتِ الكَهَنُوتِ. كُلُّ مَنْ يَتَطَفَّلُ لِلقِيامِ بِعَمَلِ الكَهنُوتِ يُقْتَلُ.»

And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons that they shall guard their priesthood; and the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.

11 ث ُمَّ قالَ اللهُ لِمُوسَى:

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

12 « ها قَدْ أخَذْتُ اللّاوِيِّينَ مِنْ بَينِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ. بَدَلَ كُلِّ الأولادِ الأبْكارِ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ، فَسَيَكُونُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ لِي.

Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the sons of Israel instead of all the firstborn that open the womb among the sons of Israel; therefore the Levites shall be mine;

13 ج َمِيعُ الأبْكارِ مِنَ النّاسِ وَالحَيواناتِ لِي. فَحِينَ قَتَلْتُ الأبْكارَ فِي أرْضِ مِصرَ، خَصَّصْتُ لِنَفسِي جَمِيعَ الأبكارِ فِي إسْرائِيلَ، مِنَ النّاسِ وَالحَيواناتِ. هُمْ لِي، أنا اللهَ.»

because all the firstborn are mine; from the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both of men and of animals; they shall be mine: I am the LORD.

14 ث ُمَّ قالَ اللهُ لِمُوسَى فِي بَرِّيَّةِ سِيناءَ:

¶ The LORD also spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

15 « أحصِ اللّاوِيِّينَ بِحَسَبِ عائِلاتِهِمْ وَعَشائِرِهِمْ. أحْصِ جَمِيعَ الذُّكُورِ البالِغِينَ شَهراً أوْ أكثَرَ.»

Number the sons of Levi by the houses of their fathers, by their families; thou shalt number every male from a month old and upward.

16 ف َأحْصاهُمْ مُوسَى وَفْقاً لِكَلِمَةِ اللهِ.

And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he was commanded.

17 و َهَذِهِ هِيَ أسْماءُ أبناءِ لاوِي: جَرْشُونُ وَقَهاتُ وَمَرارِي.

And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon and Kohath and Merari.

18 و َهَذانِ اسْما عَشِيرَتَي جَرْشُونَ: لِبْنِي وَشِمْعِي.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.

19 و َأمّا عَشائِرُ قَهاتَ فَهِيَ عَمْرامُ وَيِصْهارُ وَحَبْرُونُ وَعُزِّيئِيلُ.

And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

20 و َأمّا عَشِيرَتا مَرارِي فَكانَتا: مَحلِي وَمُوشِي. هَذِهِ هِيَ عَشائِرُ اللّاوِيِّينَ بِحَسَبِ عائِلاتِهِمْ.

And the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to the houses of their fathers.

21 ع َشِيرَتا جَرشُونَ هُما لِبْنِي وَشِمْعِي. هاتانِ هُما عَشِيرَتا الجَرشُونِيِّينَ.

Of Gershon was the family of Libni and the family of Shimei; these are the families of Gershon.

22 و َعَدَدُ جَميعِ ذُكُورِهِمُ البالِغِينَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ هُوَ سَبعَةُ آلافٍ وَخَمسُ مِئَةٍ.

Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, those that were numbered of them were seven thousand five hundred.

23 ك انَتْ عَشيرَتا الجَرشُونِيِّينَ تُخَيِّمانِ خَلفَ المَسْكَنِ إلَى الجِهَةِ الغَربِيَّةِ.

The families of Gershon shall pitch behind the tabernacle to the west;

24 و َرَئِيسُ عَشِيرَتا الجَرشُونِيِّينَ هُوَ ألِياسافُ بْنُ لايِلَ.

and the prince of the house of the father of the Gershonites, Eliasaph, son of Lael.

25 أ مَّا مَسؤولِيَّةُ الجَرشُونِيِّينَ فِي خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ فَهِيَ المَسْكَنُ: الخَيمَةُ وَغِطاؤُها وَسِتارَةُ مَدخَلِ خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ،

And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the testimony shall be the tabernacle and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the testimony,

26 و َسَتائِرُ السّاحَةِ وَسِتارَةُ مَدْخَلِ السّاحَةِ الَّتِي حَولَ المَسْكَنِ وَالمَذبَحِ وَالحِبالِ، مَعَ كُلِّ الأعمالِ المُختَصَّةِ بِحَملِ الخَيمَةِ المُقَدَّسَةِ وَنَقلِها.

and the hangings of the court and the curtain for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof.

27 و َعَشائِرُ قَهاتَ هِيَ عَمْرامُ وَيِصْهارُ وَحَبْرُونُ وَعُزِّيئِيلُ. هَذِهِ هِيَ عَشائِرُ القَهاتِيِّينَ.

And of Kohath was the family of Amram and the family of Izehar and the family of Hebron and the family of Uzziel; these are the families of the Kohathites.

28 و َكانَ عَدَدُ جَمِيعِ ذُكُورِهِمُ البالِغِينَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ ثَمانِيَةَ آلافٍ وَثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ. وَكانُوا يَقُومُونَ بِواجِباتِهِمْ فِي المَكانِ المُقَدَّسِ.

In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were eight thousand six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.

29 و َكانَتْ عَشائِرُ القَهاتِيِّينَ تُخَيِّمُ فِي الجِهَةِ الجَنُوبِيَّةِ مِنَ المَسْكَنِ المُقَدَّسِ.

The families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle towards the Negev;

30 و َرَئِيسُ عَشِيرَةِ القَهاتِيِّينَ هُوَ ألِيصافانُ بْنُ عُزِّيئِيلَ.

and the prince of the house of the father of the families of Kohath, Elizaphan, son of Uzziel.

31 و َكانَتْ مَسْؤُوليّةُ القَهاتِيِّينَ هِيَ الصُّندُوقُ المُقَدَّسُ وَالمائِدَةُ وَالمَنارَةُ وَالمَذبَحَ وَمَذْبَحَ البَخُورِ وَآنِيَةِ المَكانِ المُقَدَّسِ الَّتِي يَسْتَخْدِمُها الكَهَنَةُ، وَالسِتارَةُ، وَجَمِيعُ الأدَواتِ المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِالخِدْمَةِ.

And their charge shall be the ark and the table and the lampstand and the altars and the vessels of the sanctuary with which they minister, and the veil, with all its service.

32 أ مّا رَئِيسُ رُؤَساءِ اللّاوِيِّينَ، فَهُوَ ألِيعازارُ بْنُ هارُونَ الكاهِنِ. وَقَدْ كانَ مَسؤُولاً عَنْ القائِمينَ بِواجِباتِ المَكانِ المُقَدَّسِ.

And Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, shall be principal over the princes of the Levites and have the oversight of those that keep the charge of the sanctuary.

33 و َعَشِيرَتا مَرارِي هُما مَحلِي وَمُوشِي. هاتانِ هُما عَشِيرَتا مَرارِي.

Of Merari was the family of Mahli and the family of Mushi; these are the families of Merari.

34 و َكانَ عَدَدُ جَمِيعِ ذُكُورِهِمُ البالِغِينَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ سِتَّةَ آلافٍ وَمِئَتَينِ.

And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand two hundred;

35 و َرَئِيسُ عَشِيرَةِ المَرارِيِّينَ هُوَ صُورِئِيلُ بْنُ أبِيحايِلَ. وَكانُوا يُخَيِّمُونَ فِي الجِهَةِ الشَّمالِيَّةِ مِنَ المَسْكَنِ المُقَدَّسِ.

and the prince of the house of the father of the families of Merari, Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle to the Aquilon.

36 و َكانَ المَرارِيُّونَ مَسؤُولُونَ عَنْ حِراسَةِ ألواحِ المَسْكَنِ وَعَوارِضِهِ وَأعمِدَتِهِ وَقَواعِدِها، وَكُلِّ أدَواتِهِ وَالخِدْماتِ المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِها.

And under the custody and charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle and the bars thereof and the pillars thereof and the sockets thereof and all the instruments thereof, with all its service,

37 ك َما كُانُوا مَسؤُولِينَ عَنْ أعمِدَةِ السّاحَةِ المُحِيطَةِ بِالخَيمَةِ المُقَدَّسَةِ وَقَواعِدِها وَأوتادِها وَحِبالِها.

and the pillars of the court round about and their sockets and their stakes and their cords.

38 و َكانَ مُوسَى وَهارُونُ وَأولادُ هارُونَ هُمُ الَّذِينَ يُخَيِّمُونَ أمامَ المَسْكَنِ فِي الجِهَةِ الشَّرقِيَّةِ، أمامَ خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ بِاتِّجاهِ مَشرِقِ الشَّمسِ. كانُوا هُمُ المُشْرِفُونَ عَلَى جَمِيعِ الطُّقُوسِ الَّتِي تُقامُ داخِلَ المَكانِ المُقَدَّسِ، وَعَنْ جَمِيعِ المَسائِلِ المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِبَنِي إسْرائيلَ. وَكُلُّ دَخيلٍ يَقْتَرِبُ مِنْ أرْضِهِمْ، كانَ يُقْتَلُ.

And those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, before the tabernacle of the testimony towards the sunrise, shall be Moses and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the sons of Israel; and the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.

39 ف َكَانَ عَدَدُ اللّاوِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ أحصاهُمْ مُوسَى وَهارُونُ بِحَسَبِ أمرِ اللهِ بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِمْ، اثْنَينِ وَعِشرِينَ ألفاً مِنَ الذُّكُورِ البالِغِينَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ. اللّاوِيُّونَ بَدَلَ كُلِّ بِكْر

All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron, according to the word of the LORD, numbered by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.

40 و َقالَ اللهُ لِمُوسَى: «أحصِ كُلَّ الأبْكارِ الذُّكُورِ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ الَّذِينَ يَبلُغُونَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ، وَاكتُبْ قائِمَةً بِأسمائِهِمْ.

¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the sons of Israel from a month old and upward and take the number of their names.

41 و َخُذِ اللّاوِيِّينَ لِي، أنا اللهُ ، بَدَلَ كُلِّ الأبْكارِ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ. وَخُذْ حَيواناتِ اللّاوِيِّينَ بَدَلَ كُلِّ أبْكارِ حَيواناتِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ.»

And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am the LORD) instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel and the animals of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the animals of the sons of Israel.

42 ف َأحصَى مُوسَى كُلَّ الأبْكارِ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ، كَما أمَرَهُ اللهُ.

And Moses numbered, as the LORD commanded him, all the firstborn among the sons of Israel.

43 و َكانَ عَدَدُ الأبْكارِ الذُّكُورِ، مُدَوَّنِينَ بِأسمائِهِمْ، مِمَّنْ يَبلُغُونَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ، اثْنَينِ وَعِشرِينَ ألفاً وَمِئَتَينِ وَثَلاثاً وَسَبعِينَ.

And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three.

44 و َكَلَّمَ اللهُ مُوسَى فَقالَ:

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

45 « خُذِ اللّاوِيِّينَ بَدَلَ كُلِّ صَبِيٍّ بِكْرٍ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ، وَخُذْ حَيواناتِ اللّاوِيِّينَ بَدَلَ كُلِّ أبْكارِ حَيواناتِ إسْرائِيلَ. اللّاوِيُّونَ لِي، أنا اللهَ.

Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel and the animals of the Levites instead of their animals, and the Levites shall be mine; I am the LORD.

46 و َلِفِداءِ المِئَتَينِ وَالثَّلاثَ وَالسَّبعِينَ بِكراً فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ الَّذِينَ زادُوا عَنْ عَدَدِ اللّاوِيِّينَ،

And for the ransoms of the two hundred seventy-three of the firstborn of the sons of Israel, who are more than the Levites,

47 خ ُذْ خَمسَةَ مَثَاقيلَ مِنَ الفِضَّةِ لِكُلِّ واحِدٍ مِنهُمْ. وَتَكُونَ الفِدْيَةُ بِحَسَبِ الوَزنِ الرَّسمِيِّ لِلمِثْقالِ: المِثْقالُ بِعِشرِينَ قِيراطاً.

thou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll, after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them (the shekel is of twenty gerahs).

48 و َأعْطِ المالَ لِهارُونَ وَبَنِيهِ لِفِداءِ المِئَتَينِ وَالثَّلاثَ وَالسَّبعِينَ.»

And thou shalt give the money, of the ransoms of the odd number of them, unto Aaron and to his sons.

49 ف َأخَذَ مُوسَى المالَ لِفِداءِ الَّذِينَ زادَ عَدَدُهُمْ عَنْ عَدَدِ اللّاوِيِّينَ.

And Moses took the ransom money of those that were over and above the ones that were redeemed by the Levites

50 أ خَذَ مُوسَى المالَ مِنْ أبْكارِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ. فَكانَ ألْفاً وَثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٍ وَسِتِّينَ مِثْقالاً بِحَسَبِ الوَزنِ الرَّسمِيِّ.

and received of the firstborn of the sons of Israel, in money, a thousand three hundred and sixty-five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

51 ف َأعطَى مُوسَى، بِأمرِ اللهِ ، مالَ الفِداءِ لِهارُونَ وَأبْنائِهِ وَفْقاً لِكَلِمَةِ اللهِ.

And Moses gave the money of the ransoms unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
