1 В о всем мире был один язык и одно наречие.

The whole earth was of one language and of one speech.

2 Д вигаясь к востоку, люди вышли на равнину в Шинаре и поселились там.

As they traveled east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they lived there.

3 О ни сказали друг другу: – Давайте сделаем кирпичи и обожжем их получше. Кирпичи у них были вместо камня и смола вместо известкового раствора.

They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.

4 П отом они сказали: – Давайте построим себе город с башней до небес, чтобы прославить свое имя и не рассеяться по всей земле.

They said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”

5 Г осподь сошел посмотреть на город и башню, которые строили люди,

Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.

6 и сказал: – Все люди – один народ и у них один язык; вот они и затеяли такое; теперь не будет для них ничего невозможного.

Yahweh said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing will be withheld from them, which they intend to do.

7 С ойдем же и смешаем им язык, чтобы они перестали понимать друг друга.

Come, let’s go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

8 И Господь рассеял их оттуда по всему свету, и они перестали строить тот город.

So Yahweh scattered them abroad from there on the surface of all the earth. They stopped building the city.

9 В от почему он был назван Вавилон – ведь Господь смешал там язык всего мира. Оттуда Господь рассеял их по лицу всей земли. Потомки от Сима до Аврама (1 Пар. 1: 24-27)

Therefore its name was called Babel, because there Yahweh confused the language of all the earth. From there, Yahweh scattered them abroad on the surface of all the earth.

10 В от родословие Сима. Симу было сто лет, когда у него родился Арпахшад, через два года после потопа.

This is the history of the generations of Shem: Shem was one hundred years old when he became the father of Arpachshad two years after the flood.

11 П осле рождения Арпахшада Сим жил 500 лет, и у него были еще сыновья и дочери.

Shem lived five hundred years after he became the father of Arpachshad, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

12 К огда Арпахшад прожил 35 лет, у него родился Шелах.

Arpachshad lived thirty-five years and became the father of Shelah.

13 П осле рождения Шелаха Арпахшад жил 403 года, и у него были еще сыновья и дочери.

Arpachshad lived four hundred three years after he became the father of Shelah, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

14 К огда Шелах прожил 30 лет, у него родился Евер.

Shelah lived thirty years, and became the father of Eber.

15 П осле рождения Евера, Шелах жил 403 года, и у него были еще сыновья и дочери.

Shelah lived four hundred three years after he became the father of Eber, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

16 К огда Евер прожил 34 года, у него родился Пелег.

Eber lived thirty-four years, and became the father of Peleg.

17 П осле рождения Пелега Евер жил 430 лет, и у него были еще сыновья и дочери.

Eber lived four hundred thirty years after he became the father of Peleg, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

18 К огда Пелег прожил 30 лет, у него родился Реу.

Peleg lived thirty years, and became the father of Reu.

19 П осле рождения Реу Пелег жил 209 лет, и у него были еще сыновья и дочери.

Peleg lived two hundred nine years after he became the father of Reu, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

20 К огда Реу прожил 32 года, у него родился Серуг.

Reu lived thirty-two years, and became the father of Serug.

21 П осле рождения Серуга Реу жил 207 лет, и у него были еще сыновья и дочери.

Reu lived two hundred seven years after he became the father of Serug, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

22 К огда Серуг прожил 30 лет, у него родился Нахор.

Serug lived thirty years, and became the father of Nahor.

23 П осле рождения Нахора Серуг жил 200 лет, и у него были еще сыновья и дочери.

Serug lived two hundred years after he became the father of Nahor, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

24 К огда Нахор прожил 29 лет, у него родился Терах.

Nahor lived twenty-nine years, and became the father of Terah.

25 П осле рождения Тераха Нахор жил 119 лет, и у него были еще сыновья и дочери.

Nahor lived one hundred nineteen years after he became the father of Terah, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

26 П осле того, как Терах прожил 70 лет, у него родились Аврам, Нахор и Аран. Родословие Тераха и его переселение с Халдейской земли в Аран

Terah lived seventy years, and became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

27 В от родословие Тераха. У Тераха родились Аврам, Нахор и Аран. У Арана родился Лот.

Now this is the history of the generations of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran became the father of Lot.

28 К огда его отец Терах был еще жив, Аран умер в Уре Халдейском, в земле, где он родился.

Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees.

29 А врам и Нахор взяли себе жен. Жену Аврама звали Сара, а жену Нахора – Милка, она была дочерью Арана, отца Милки и Иски.

Abram and Nahor married wives. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran who was also the father of Iscah.

30 С ара была бесплодна, и у нее не было детей.

Sarai was barren. She had no child.

31 Т ерах взял своего сына Аврама, своего внука Лота, сына Арана, и свою невестку Сару, жену Аврама, и вместе они отправились из Ура Халдейского в Ханаан. Но, дойдя до Харрана, они поселились там.

Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife. They went from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan. They came to Haran and lived there.

32 Т ерах жил двести пять лет и умер в Харране.

The days of Terah were two hundred five years. Terah died in Haran.
