Reaiah the son of Shobal became the father of Jahath; and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.

3 В от сыновья Етама: Изреель, Ишма, Идбаш. Их сестру звали Гацлелпони.

These were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. The name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.

4 П енуэл был отцом Гедора, а Езер – отцом Хушы. Это потомки Хура, первенца Ефрафы и отца Вифлеема.

Penuel was the father of Gedor and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.

Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

6 Н аара родила ему Ахузама, Хефера, Тимни и Ахашфари – это сыновья Наары.

Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.

The sons of Helah were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.

Hakkoz became the father of Anub, Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.

9 И авеш был знаменитее своих братьев. Мать назвала его Иавеш, сказав: «Я родила его в муках».

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him with sorrow.”

10 И авеш воззвал к Богу Израиля: – О если бы Ты благословил меня и расширил мою землю! Пусть Твоя рука будет со мной, пусть убережет меня от зла, чтобы мне не страдать. И Бог исполнил его просьбу.

Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border! May your hand be with me, and may you keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” God granted him that which he requested.

11 Х елув, брат Шухи, стал отцом Махира, который был отцом Ештона.

Chelub the brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

12 Е штон был отцом Бет-Рафы, Пасеаха и Техинны, отца Ир-Нахаша. Это жители Рехи.

Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These are the men of Recah.

13 С ыновья Кеназа: Отниил и Серая. Сыновья Отниила: Хафаф и Меонофай.

The sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel: Hathath.

14 М еонофай был отцом Офры. Серая был отцом Иоава – отца Ге-Харашим, названного так потому, что его жители были ремесленниками.

Meonothai became the father of Ophrah: and Seraiah became the father of Joab the father of Ge Harashim; for they were craftsmen.

The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah: Kenaz.

The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

17 С ыновья Езры: Иефер, Меред, Ефер и Иалон. Одна из жен Мереда родила Мерома, Шаммая и Ишбака – отца Эштемоа.

The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon; and she bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

18 ( А его иудейская жена родила Иереда, отца Гедора, Хевера, отца Сохо и Иекуфиила, отца Заноаха). Это сыновья Бифьи, дочери фараона, на которой женился Меред.

His wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. These are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of those who worked fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;

22 И оким, жители Хозевы, Иоаш и Сараф, которые имели владения в Моаве и Иашуви-Лехеме, но это древние события.

and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. These records are ancient.

23 О ни были гончарами, жившими в Нефаиме и Гедере; они проживали там и работали на царя. Потомки Симеона (Нав. 19: 2-9)

These were the potters, and the inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah: they lived there with the king for his work.

The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;

25 Ш аллум, сын Саула, его сын Мивсам, его сын Мишма.

Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.

26 С ыновья Мишмы: Хаммуил, сын его; его сын Заккур, его сын Шимей.

The sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.

27 У Шимея было шестнадцать сыновей и шесть дочерей, но его братья не были многодетными; поэтому весь их клан не стал таким же многолюдным, как народ Иуды.

Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brothers didn’t have many children, and all their family did not family multiply like the children of Judah.

They lived at Beersheba, Moladah, Hazarshual,

at Bilhah, at Ezem, at Tolad,

at Bethuel, at Hormah, at Ziklag,

31 Б ет-Маркавофе, Хацар-сусиме, Бет-Биреи и Шаараиме. Это их города до правления Давида.

at Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susim, at Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until David’s reign.

32 И х поселениями были Етам, Аин, Риммон, Фокен и Ашан – пять городов

Their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;

33 в месте со всеми поселениями, окружавшими эти города до самого Баалафа. Это их поселения и их родословие.

and all their villages that were around the same cities, to Baal. These were their settlements, and they have their genealogy.

34 М ешовав, Иамлех, Иосия, сын Амасии,

Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah the son of Amaziah,

35 И оил, Иегу, сын Иошиви, сына Сераи, сына Асиила,

Joel, Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,

36 Е лиоенай, Иакова, Ишохаия, Асая, Адиил, Ишимиил, Ванея,

Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah,

37 и Зиза, сын Шифия, сына Аллона, сына Иедаии, сына Шимрия, сына Шемаи.

and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah—

38 В се выше перечисленные были вождями своих кланов. Их семьи значительно увеличивались,

these mentioned by name were princes in their families. Their fathers’ houses increased greatly.

39 и они доходили до предместий Гедора, до восточной стороны долины, в поисках пастбищ для своих отар.

They went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

40 О ни нашли тучные, хорошие пастбища, а земля была просторна, спокойна и безопасна, ее прежние обитатели были хамитянами.

They found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceful; for those who lived there before were descended from Ham.

41 В се перечисленные пришли в дни Езекии, царя Иудеи. Они напали на хамитян в их жилищах и на меунитян, которые оказались там, истребив их полностью, как это видно и по сегодняшний день, и поселились на их месте, потому что там были пастбища для их отар.

These written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and struck their tents. The Meunim who were found there, and they destroyed them utterly to this day, and lived in their place; because there was pasture there for their flocks.

42 П ятьсот человек из этих симеонитов под началом Пелатия, Неарии, Рефая и Узиила, сыновей Ишия, отправились в нагорья Сеира,

Some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to Mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

43 п еребили остаток уцелевших амаликитян и живут там поныне.

They struck the remnant of the Amalekites who escaped, and have lived there to this day.
