1 “ For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

Căci Împărăţia Cerurilor este ca stăpânul unei case, care a ieşit dis-de-dimineaţă să angajeze lucrători în via lui.

2 N ow when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

S-a înţeles cu ei să le plătească un denar pe zi şi i-a trimis în via lui.

3 A nd he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,

Pe la ceasul al treilea a ieşit şi i-a văzut pe alţii stând în piaţă fără lucru.

4 a nd said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went.

El le-a zis acestora: „Duceţi-vă şi voi în via mea şi vă voi da ceea ce este drept!

5 A gain he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.

Şi ei s-au dus. A ieşit iarăşi pe la ceasul al şaselea şi al nouălea şi a făcut la fel.

6 A nd about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’

Când a ieşit pe la ceasul al unsprezecelea, i-a găsit pe alţii stând în piaţă şi i-a întrebat: – De ce staţi aici toată ziua fără lucru?

7 T hey said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.’

Ei i-au răspuns: – Pentru că nu ne-a angajat nimeni! Atunci el le-a zis: – Duceţi-vă şi voi în via mea (şi veţi primi ceea ce este drept).

8 “ So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’

Când s-a făcut seară, stăpânul viei i-a zis supraveghetorului său: „Cheamă lucrătorii şi dă-le plata, începând de la cei din urmă şi până la cei dintâi“.

9 A nd when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius.

Au venit cei de la ceasul al unsprezecelea şi au primit fiecare câte un denar.

10 B ut when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius.

Când au venit cei dintâi, s-au gândit că vor primi mai mult, dar au primit şi ei tot câte un denar fiecare.

11 A nd when they had received it, they complained against the landowner,

După ce i-au primit, au început să murmure împotriva stăpânului casei

12 s aying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’

şi să spună: – Aceştia din urmă au muncit doar o oră şi i-ai făcut egali cu noi, care am îndurat greul şi arşiţa zilei!

13 B ut he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?

Stăpânul i-a răspuns unuia dintre ei: – Prietene, eu nu te nedreptăţesc! Nu te-ai înţeles cu mine pentru un denar?

14 T ake what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you.

Ia ce-ţi aparţine şi pleacă! Eu vreau să-i dau şi acestuia din urmă ca şi ţie!

15 I s it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’

Nu am voie să fac ce vreau cu ceea ce-mi aparţine? Sau ochiul tău este rău, fiindcă eu sunt bun?

16 S o the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.” Jesus a Third Time Predicts His Death and Resurrection

Tot aşa, cei din urmă vor fi cei dintâi, iar cei dintâi vor fi cei din urmă. (Căci mulţi sunt chemaţi, dar puţini sunt aleşi.) Isus vorbeşte din nou despre moartea şi învierea Sa

17 N ow Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them,

În timp ce Se suia spre Ierusalim, Isus i-a luat deoparte, pe drum, pe cei doisprezece ucenici şi le-a zis:

18 “ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,

„Iată că ne suim spre Ierusalim şi Fiul Omului va fi dat pe mâna conducătorilor preoţilor şi a cărturarilor. Ei Îl vor condamna la moarte

19 a nd deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.” Greatness Is Serving

şi-L vor da pe mâna neamurilor, ca să fie batjocorit, biciuit şi răstignit. Dar a treia zi va fi înviat“. Cererea unei mame

20 T hen the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him.

Atunci a venit la El mama fiilor lui Zebedei, împreună cu fiii ei. I s-a închinat şi a vrut să-I facă o cerere.

21 A nd He said to her, “What do you wish?” She said to Him, “Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.”

Isus a întrebat-o: – Ce vrei? Ea a răspuns: – Porunceşte ca aceşti doi fii ai mei să stea unul la dreapta şi altul la stânga Ta, în Împărăţia Ta!

22 B ut Jesus answered and said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to Him, “We are able.”

Isus a zis: – Nu ştiţi ce cereţi. Puteţi voi să beţi paharul pe care urmează să-l beau Eu (şi să fiţi botezaţi cu botezul cu care sunt botezat Eu) ? – Putem! au răspuns ei.

23 S o He said to them, “You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father.”

Isus le-a zis: – Veţi bea într-adevăr paharul Meu (şi veţi fi botezaţi cu botezul cu care sunt botezat Eu), dar dreptul de a sta la dreapta şi la stânga Mea nu ţine de Mine să-l dau, ci este pentru aceia cărora le-a fost pregătit de Tatăl Meu.

24 A nd when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers.

Ceilalţi zece, când au auzit, au fost indignaţi de cei doi fraţi.

25 B ut Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.

Isus i-a chemat la El şi le-a zis: „Ştiţi că domnitorii neamurilor fac pe stăpânii cu ele, iar mai marii lor se poartă cu tiranie cu ele.

26 Y et it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.

Între voi să nu fie aşa! Ci oricine vrea să fie mai mare între voi trebuie să devină slujitorul vostru,

27 A nd whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—

iar cel ce vrea să fie primul între voi trebuie să devină sclavul vostru,

28 j ust as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Two Blind Men Receive Their Sight

tot aşa cum şi Fiul Omului a venit nu ca să fie slujit, ci ca să slujească şi să-Şi dea viaţa ca răscumpărare pentru mulţi“. Isus vindecă doi orbi la Ierihon

29 N ow as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him.

Când au ieşit din Ierihon, o mare mulţime de oameni L-a urmat pe Isus.

30 A nd behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”

Lângă drum stăteau doi orbi. Când au auzit ei că trece Isus, au început să strige: – Ai milă de noi, (Doamne,) Fiul lui David!

31 T hen the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”

Mulţimea îi mustra, spunându-le să tacă, dar ei strigau şi mai tare: – Ai milă de noi, Doamne, Fiul lui David!

32 S o Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

Isus S-a oprit, i-a chemat şi i-a întrebat: – Ce vreţi să fac pentru voi?

33 T hey said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.”

Ei au răspuns: – Doamne, să ne fie deschişi ochii!

34 S o Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.

Lui Isus I s-a făcut milă de ei şi le-a atins ochii. Imediat ei şi-au recăpătat vederea şi L-au urmat.
