1 A nd Jacob called his sons and said, “Gather together, that I may tell you what shall befall you in the last days:

Adunaţi-vă şi ascultaţi, fiii lui Iacov! Ascultaţi-l pe tatăl vostru, Israel!

3 “ Reuben, you are my firstborn, My might and the beginning of my strength, The excellency of dignity and the excellency of power.

Ruben, tu eşti întâiul meu născut, puterea şi primul rod al vigorii mele, deosebit în demnitate şi în putere.

4 U nstable as water, you shall not excel, Because you went up to your father’s bed; Then you defiled it — He went up to my couch.

Năvalnic ca apa, tu nu vei mai avea întâietatea, pentru că te-ai suit în patul tatălui tău şi, suindu-te în el, l-ai pângărit!

Simeon şi Levi sunt fraţi; săbiile lor sunt arme ale violenţei.

Iuda, tu eşti un pui de leu; fiule, te-ai întors de la pradă. Iuda stă culcat şi se întinde ca un leu, ca o leoaică – cine va îndrăzni să o trezească?

Sceptrul nu se va îndepărta de la Iuda, nici toiagul domnitorului de lângă picioarele sale, până va veni Şilo; de El vor asculta popoarele.

Mântuirea Ta o aştept, Doamne!
