1 S o it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret,

Într-o zi, în timp ce se afla lângă lacul Ghenezaret şi mulţimea se înghesuia în jurul Lui ca să asculte Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu,

2 a nd saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets.

Isus a văzut două bărci trase la marginea lacului; pescarii coborâseră din ele şi-şi spălau năvoadele.

3 T hen He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.

S-a suit într-una dintre bărci, care era a lui Simon, şi l-a rugat s-o depărteze puţin de la ţărm. Apoi S-a aşezat şi, din barcă, a început să dea învăţătură mulţimilor.

4 W hen He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

Când a terminat de vorbit, i-a zis lui Simon: – Depărtează barca la apă adâncă şi aruncaţi-vă năvoadele pentru pescuit!

5 B ut Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”

Simon I-a răspuns: – Stăpâne, toată noaptea ne-am trudit, dar n-am prins nimic. Totuşi, la cuvântul Tău, voi arunca năvoadele!

6 A nd when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.

Au făcut aşa şi au prins atât de mulţi peşti, încât năvoadele începuseră să li se rupă.

7 S o they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

Le-au făcut semn confraţilor lor din cealaltă barcă, să vină să-i ajute. Aceştia au venit şi au umplut amândouă bărcile cu peşte, până acolo încât erau să se scufunde.

8 W hen Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”

Când Simon Petru a văzut ce s-a întâmplat, a căzut la genunchii lui Isus şi I-a zis: – Doamne, pleacă de la mine, pentru că sunt un om păcătos!

9 F or he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken;

Căci atât el, cât şi cei ce erau împreună cu el fuseseră cuprinşi de uimire din pricina pescuitului care avusese loc.

10 a nd so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.”

La fel erau şi Iacov şi Ioan, fiii lui Zebedei, confraţii lui Simon. Isus i-a răspuns lui Simon: – Nu te teme! De acum înainte vei fi pescar de oameni!

11 S o when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him. Jesus Cleanses a Leper

După ce au adus bărcile la ţărm, au lăsat totul şi L-au urmat. Curăţirea unui bolnav de lepră

12 A nd it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

În timp ce Isus era într-una dintre cetăţi, se afla acolo şi un om plin de lepră. Când L-a văzut pe Isus, a căzut la pământ înaintea Lui şi L-a rugat zicând: – Doamne, dacă vrei, poţi să mă curăţeşti!

13 T hen He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.

Isus a întins mâna, l-a atins şi a zis: – Da, vreau. Fii curăţit! Şi imediat lepra s-a depărtat de la el.

14 A nd He charged him to tell no one, “But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as a testimony to them, just as Moses commanded.”

Isus i-a poruncit: – Să nu spui nimănui, ci du-te, arată-te preotului şi adu o jertfă pentru curăţirea ta, aşa cum a poruncit Moise, ca mărturie pentru ei.

15 H owever, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.

Dar vestea despre El se răspândea tot mai mult, astfel că mulţimi mari de oameni se adunau să-L asculte şi să fie vindecaţi de neputinţele lor.

16 S o He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed. Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralytic

El însă se retrăgea în locuri pustii şi se ruga. Vindecarea unui paralitic

17 N ow it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

Într-una din zile, în timp ce El dădea învăţătură, erau acolo şi nişte farisei şi cărturari, care veniseră de prin toate satele Galileii şi ale Iudeii şi din Ierusalim. Puterea Domnului era cu El, ca să vindece.

18 T hen behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him.

Şi iată că nişte oameni aduceau pe pat un om care era paralizat. Ei încercau să intre cu el, ca să-l pună înaintea lui Isus.

19 A nd when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.

Dar fiindcă n-au găsit cum să-l aducă înăuntru din cauza mulţimii, s-au suit pe acoperişul casei şi l-au coborât cu patul printre cărămizi, în mijlocul mulţimii, înaintea lui Isus.

20 W hen He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”

Când le-a văzut Isus credinţa, a zis: „Omule, păcatele îţi sunt iertate!“

21 A nd the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Cărturarii şi fariseii au început să-şi zică: „Cine este Acesta Care rosteşte blasfemii? Cine poate ierta păcatele decât numai Dumnezeu?!“

22 B ut when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts?

Isus însă, cunoscându-le gândurile, le-a zis: „De ce gândiţi astfel în inimile voastre?

23 W hich is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk’?

Ce este mai uşor, a spune: «Păcatele îţi sunt iertate!», sau a spune: «Ridică-te şi umblă!»?

24 B ut that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” —He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

Dar ca să ştiţi că Fiul Omului are pe pământ autoritatea de a ierta păcatele...“, şi atunci i-a zis omului care era paralizat: „Ţie îţi spun: ridică-te, ia-ţi patul şi du-te acasă!“

25 I mmediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

Şi deodată el s-a ridicat înaintea lor, şi-a luat patul pe care zăcuse şi s-a dus acasă, slăvindu-L pe Dumnezeu.

26 A nd they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today!” Matthew the Tax Collector

Pe toţi i-a cuprins uimirea şi Îl slăveau pe Dumnezeu. S-au umplut de teamă şi au zis: „Astăzi am văzut lucruri nemaipomenite!“ Chemarea lui Levi

27 A fter these things He went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.”

După toate acestea, El a ieşit afară. Isus a văzut un colector de taxe, pe nume Levi, şezând la masa unde se colectau taxele şi i-a zis: „Urmează-Mă!“

28 S o he left all, rose up, and followed Him.

El a lăsat totul, s-a ridicat şi L-a urmat.

29 T hen Levi gave Him a great feast in his own house. And there were a great number of tax collectors and others who sat down with them.

Apoi Levi a dat acasă la el un ospăţ mare pentru Isus. Şi o mare mulţime de colectori de taxe şi de alţi oaspeţi stăteau la masă împreună cu ei.

30 A nd their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, “Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

Fariseii şi cărturarii murmurau împotriva ucenicilor Lui şi ziceau: „De ce mâncaţi şi beţi împreună cu colectorii de taxe şi cu păcătoşii ?“

31 J esus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

Însă Isus le-a zis: „Nu cei sănătoşi au nevoie de doctor, ci cei bolnavi.

32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” Jesus Is Questioned About Fasting

Eu n-am venit să-i chem la pocăinţă pe cei drepţi, ci pe cei păcătoşi.“ Despre post

33 T hen they said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees, but Yours eat and drink?”

Ei I-au zis: – Ucenicii lui Ioan, ca şi cei ai fariseilor, postesc des şi fac rugăciuni, dar ai Tăi mănâncă şi beau!

34 A nd He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?

Isus le-a răspuns: – Puteţi să-i faceţi pe nuntaşi să postească în timp ce mirele este cu ei?

35 B ut the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days.”

Vor veni însă zile când mirele va fi luat de la ei şi atunci, în zilele acelea, vor posti!

36 T hen He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old.

Le-a spus apoi şi o pildă: „Nimeni nu rupe un petic dintr-o haină nouă ca să-l pună la o haină veche, pentru că altfel va rupe haina cea nouă, iar peticul din haina cea nouă nu se va potrivi la cea veche.

37 A nd no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined.

Şi nimeni nu pune vinul nou în burdufuri vechi. Dacă face aşa, vinul cel nou va crăpa burdufurile, iar vinul se va vărsa şi burdufurile vor fi distruse.

38 B ut new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved.

Ci vinul nou trebuie să fie pus în burdufuri noi.

39 A nd no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’”

Şi nimeni nu vrea să bea vin nou după ce a băut vin vechi, pentru că zice: «Cel vechi este mai bun!»“
