1 “ Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.

Iată-L pe Robul Meu, pe Care Îl sprijin, Alesul Meu, în Care-Mi găsesc plăcerea! Voi pune Duhul Meu peste El, iar El va arăta neamurilor dreptatea.

2 H e will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.

Nu va striga, nu-Şi va ridica glasul şi nu-l va face să se audă pe drum.

3 A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.

Nu va rupe trestia zdrobită şi nu va stinge mucul care încă mai fumegă, ci cu credincioşie va aduce dreptatea.

4 H e will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law.”

El nu va slăbi, nici nu se va descuraja până nu va aşeza dreptatea pe pământ. Şi în Legea Lui vor nădăjdui ţinuturile de lângă mare!»

5 T hus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it:

Aşa vorbeşte Dumnezeu, Domnul Care a creat cerurile şi le-a întins, Care a desfăşurat pământul împreună cu resursele lui, Care dă suflare oamenilor de pe el şi suflet celor ce umblă pe el:

6 “ I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles,

«Eu, Domnul, Te-am chemat prin dreptate. Te voi ţine bine de mână; Te voi păzi şi Te voi face un legământ pentru popor şi o lumină pentru neamuri,

7 T o open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.

ca să deschizi ochii orbilor, să eliberezi pe prizonieri din captivitate şi din închisoare pe cei ce stau în întuneric.

8 I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.

Eu sunt Domnul; acesta este Numele Meu! Nu-Mi voi da slava altuia şi nici lauda cuvenită Mie, idolilor!

9 B ehold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.” Praise to the Lord

Iată! Cele dintâi lucruri s-au împlinit şi acum vestesc altele noi; înainte să se împlinească vi le fac cunoscute.» Un cântec de laudă Domnului

10 S ing to the Lord a new song, And His praise from the ends of the earth, You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, You coastlands and you inhabitants of them!

Cântaţi Domnului un cântec nou! Cântaţi-I laudele de la marginile pământului, voi, care străbateţi marea, tot ceea ce este în ea, ţinuturile de lângă mare şi locuitorii lor!

11 L et the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, The villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing, Let them shout from the top of the mountains.

Să-şi ridice glasul pustia şi cetăţile ei, aşezările locuite de Chedar! Să strige de bucurie locuitorii din Sela, să strige de pe vârfurile munţilor!

12 L et them give glory to the Lord, And declare His praise in the coastlands.

Să-L slăvească pe Domnul şi să-L laude în ţinuturile de lângă mare!

13 T he Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies. Promise of the Lord ’s Help

Domnul mărşăluieşte ca un viteaz; asemenea unui războinic Îşi stârneşte râvna: strigă, scoate un strigăt de luptă şi triumfă asupra duşmanilor săi.

14 “ I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once.

«Am tăcut pentru multă vreme, am păstrat tăcerea şi am rămas retras, dar acum, ca o femeie care naşte, voi geme, voi gâfâi şi voi icni.

15 I will lay waste the mountains and hills, And dry up all their vegetation; I will make the rivers coastlands, And I will dry up the pools.

Voi pustii munţii şi dealurile, le voi usca toată verdeaţa! Voi preface râurile în uscat şi voi seca iazurile!

16 I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.

Îi voi duce pe orbi pe un drum necunoscut de ei, pe cărări neştiute de ei îi voi conduce! Voi preface întunericul dinaintea lor în lumină, iar povârnişurile în teren neted! Acestea sunt lucrurile pe care le voi face pentru ei; nu-i voi părăsi!

17 T hey shall be turned back, They shall be greatly ashamed, Who trust in carved images, Who say to the molded images, ‘You are our gods.’

Dar cei ce se încred în idoli, cei ce zic chipurilor cioplite: ‘Voi sunteţi zeii noştri!’ vor fi alungaţi, acoperiţi de ruşine. Neascultarea lui Israel

18 “ Hear, you deaf; And look, you blind, that you may see.

Ascultaţi, surzilor! Priviţi, orbilor, şi vedeţi!

19 W ho is blind but My servant, Or deaf as My messenger whom I send? Who is blind as he who is perfect, And blind as the Lord ’s servant?

Cine este orb, dacă nu robul Meu şi surd ca mesagerul pe care l-am trimis? Cine este orb ca cel dedicat Mie, orb ca robul Domnului ?

20 S eeing many things, but you do not observe; Opening the ears, but he does not hear.” Israel’s Obstinate Disobedience

Vezi multe lucruri, dar nu le iei în seamă; auzi bine, dar nu asculţi cu adevărat.»

21 T he Lord is well pleased for His righteousness’ sake; He will exalt the law and make it honorable.

Domnul a dorit, în numele dreptăţii Sale, să-Şi înalţe Legea şi s-o facă glorioasă.

22 B ut this is a people robbed and plundered; All of them are snared in holes, And they are hidden in prison houses; They are for prey, and no one delivers; For plunder, and no one says, “Restore!”

Dar acest popor este prădat şi jefuit; prinşi în capcană în gropi sunt cu toţii şi ascunşi în temniţe; au devenit o pradă pe care nu este nimeni s-o scape, ceva de jefuit despre care nimeni nu zice: «Dă-l înapoi!»

23 W ho among you will give ear to this? Who will listen and hear for the time to come?

Cine dintre voi însă învaţă din lucrurile acestea? Sau cine ia seama la cele ce stau să se împlinească?

24 W ho gave Jacob for plunder, and Israel to the robbers? Was it not the Lord, He against whom we have sinned? For they would not walk in His ways, Nor were they obedient to His law.

Cine l-a dat pe Iacov pradă tâlharilor şi pe Israel pe mâna jefuitorilor? Oare nu Domnul, împotriva Căruia am păcătuit? Ei n-au vrut să umble pe căile Lui, nici să se supună Legii Lui.

25 T herefore He has poured on him the fury of His anger And the strength of battle; It has set him on fire all around, Yet he did not know; And it burned him, Yet he did not take it to heart.

De aceea a turnat peste ei văpaia mâniei Lui şi ferocitatea războiului; i-a înconjurat cu flăcări, dar tot n-au înţeles; i-a mistuit, dar tot n-au luat în seamă
