1 T herefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

De aceea, fiindcă am fost îndreptăţiţi prin credinţă, avem pace cu Dumnezeu prin Domnul nostru Isus Cristos,

2 t hrough whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

prin Care am intrat, prin credinţă, în acest har, în care stăm; şi ne lăudăm în nădejdea slavei lui Dumnezeu.

3 A nd not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

Dar nu numai atât, ci ne bucurăm şi în necazuri, ştiind că necazul produce răbdare,

4 a nd perseverance, character; and character, hope.

răbdarea produce caracter matur, caracterul matur produce nădejde,

5 N ow hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Christ in Our Place

iar nădejdea aceasta nu ne dezamăgeşte, întrucât dragostea lui Dumnezeu a fost turnată în inimile noastre prin Duhul Sfânt Care ne-a fost dat,

6 F or when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

pentru că, în timp ce noi eram neputincioşi, Cristos a murit, la timpul potrivit, pentru cei neevlavioşi.

7 F or scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.

Foarte rar va muri cineva pentru un om drept, deşi pentru un om bun poate că cineva ar îndrăzni să moară.

8 B ut God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Însă Dumnezeu Şi-a dovedit dragostea faţă de noi prin faptul că, în timp ce noi eram păcătoşi, Cristos a murit pentru noi.

9 M uch more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

Deci, cu atât mai mult acum, când am fost îndreptăţiţi prin sângele Lui, vom fi mântuiţi prin El de mânia lui Dumnezeu.

10 F or if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Căci dacă, în timp ce eram duşmani, am fost împăcaţi cu Dumnezeu prin moartea Fiului Său, cu atât mai mult acum, fiind împăcaţi cu El, vom fi mântuiţi prin viaţa Lui.

11 A nd not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Death in Adam, Life in Christ

Şi nu doar atât, dar ne şi lăudăm în Dumnezeu prin Domnul nostru Isus Cristos, prin Care am primit împăcarea. Moartea prin Adam, viaţa prin Cristos

12 T herefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—

De aceea, aşa cum păcatul a intrat în lume printr-un singur om, iar prin păcat a intrat moartea, şi astfel moartea a trecut la toţi oamenii, prin aceasta toţi au păcătuit.

13 ( For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

Căci, înainte de Lege, era păcat în lume, însă unde nu este Lege nu se ţine o socoteală a păcatelor.

14 N evertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

Totuşi, moartea a domnit de la Adam până la Moise, chiar şi peste cei care n-au păcătuit printr-o încălcare a poruncii, cum a făcut Adam, care este un arhetip al Celui Ce urma să vină.

15 B ut the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.

Însă cu darul nu este ca şi cu greşeala. Căci dacă cei mulţi au murit prin greşeala unuia singur, cu mult mai mult harul lui Dumnezeu şi darul făcut în harul unui Singur Om, Isus Cristos, s-au dat din belşug celor mulţi.

16 A nd the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification.

Iar darul nu a venit ca printr-acel unul singur care a păcătuit. Fiindcă judecata venită printr-unul singur a adus condamnarea, însă darul, care a urmat după multe păcate, a adus achitarea.

17 F or if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

Căci dacă prin greşeala unuia singur moartea a domnit prin acel unul, cu atât mai mult vor domni în viaţă cei ce primesc belşugul harului şi darul dreptăţii prin Acel Unul Singur, Isus Cristos.

18 T herefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.

Deci, aşa cum printr-o singură greşeală a venit o condamnare pentru toţi oamenii, tot astfel, printr-un singur act drept a venit o îndreptăţire pentru toţi oamenii, care duce la viaţă.

19 F or as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

Căci aşa cum, prin neascultarea unui singur om, cei mulţi au fost făcuţi păcătoşi, tot astfel, prin ascultarea Unuia Singur, cei mulţi vor fi făcuţi drepţi.

20 M oreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,

Legea a venit pentru ca să se înmulţească greşeala; însă, acolo unde s-a înmulţit păcatul, harul a fost mai din belşug,

21 s o that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

pentru ca, aşa cum păcatul a domnit prin moarte, tot astfel să domnească şi harul lui Dumnezeu prin dreptate, ducând la viaţa veşnică prin Isus Cristos, Domnul nostru.
