1 ¶ Lord, thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.

Владыка, Ты – наше прибежище из поколения в поколение.

2 B efore the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Прежде чем родились горы и Ты образовал землю и вселенную, от века и до века Ты – Бог.

3 T hou dost turn unto man until he is broken and thou saith, Become converted, ye sons of Adam.

Ты возвращаешь человека в тление и говоришь: «Вернитесь, сыны человеческие».

4 F or a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past and as a watch in the night.

Тысяча лет в глазах Твоих, как день вчерашний, что минул, как стража в ночи.

5 T hou dost cause them to pass by as the waters of a river; they are as a dream, which is strong in the morning like grass.

Как наводнением уносишь людей; они проходят, как сон. Они – как трава, что утром взошла:

6 I n the morning it blossoms and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers.

утром она цветет и зеленеет, а вечером вянет и засыхает.

7 ¶ For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath we are troubled.

Мы исчезаем от Твоего гнева и в смятении от Твоей ярости.

8 T hou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

Ты поставил наши беззакония перед Собой и наши тайные грехи – перед светом Своего лица.

9 F or all our days decline because of thy wrath; we end our years according to the word.

Наши дни проходят в Твоем гневе; мы завершаем свои годы со стоном.

10 T he days of our years are seventy, and of the most valiant eighty years, yet their strength is labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Наших дней – лет семьдесят, а для более сильных – восемьдесят, и то большая часть их – труд и скорбь; они проходят быстро, и мы улетим.

11 W ho knows the power of thine anger? that thy wrath is not less than our fear.

Кто познал силу Твоего гнева? Ярость Твоя столь же велика, сколь велик страх перед Тобой.

12 ¶ Cause us to learn this that we might number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Научи нас вести счет нашим дням, чтобы мы обрели сердце мудрое.

13 R eturn unto us, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy slaves.

Возвратись, Господи! Как долго это будет длиться? Сжалься над Своими рабами!

14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy, and we shall sing and be glad all our days.

Насыщай нас по утрам милостью Своей, чтобы мы радовались и веселились все наши дни.

15 M ake us glad according to the days in which thou hast afflicted us and the years in which we have seen evil.

Возвесели нас за дни, когда Ты наказывал нас, и за годы, в которые мы испытывали бедствие.

16 L et thy work appear in thy slaves and thy glory upon their sons.

Да откроется взору рабов Твоих дело Твое, и слава Твоя – их детям.

17 A nd let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, and set thou aright the work of our hands upon us; yea, set thou aright the work of our hands.

И да пребудет на нас благоволение Владыки, нашего Бога. Укрепи дело наших рук для нас, укрепи дело наших рук.
