1 ¶ At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.

Раз в семь лет ты должен прощать долги.

2 A nd this is the manner of the release: everyone who has lent anything to his neighbour, causing him to be in debt, shall release it; he shall not exact it any more of his neighbour or of his brother, because the release of the LORD is proclaimed.

Вот как это следует делать: каждый заимодавец пусть простит долг, который он дал ближнему. Пусть он не требует уплаты долга со своего друга или брата, потому что провозглашено Господнее время для прощения долгов.

3 O f the foreigner thou shalt demand that it be repaid; but that which thy brother has of thine thy hand shall release,

Ты можешь требовать уплаты с чужеземца, но должен простить все, что должен тебе твой брат.

4 s o that thus there shall be no poor among you, for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God gives thee for an inheritance to possess it;

Среди вас не должно быть бедняка, ведь в земле, которую Господь, твой Бог, отдает тебе во владение как твое наследие, Он щедро благословит тебя.

5 o nly if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep and to do all these commandments which I command thee this day.

Но только если ты будешь полностью послушен Господу, своему Богу, и будешь прилежно следовать всем этим повелениям, которые я даю тебе сегодня.

6 F or when the LORD thy God has blessed thee, as he promised thee, thou shalt lend unto many Gentiles, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt rule over many Gentiles, but they shall not rule over thee.

И тогда Господь, твой Бог, благословит тебя, как и обещал, и ты будешь давать в долг многим народам, но ни у кого не будешь брать взаймы. Ты будешь править многими народами, но ни один из них не будет править тобой.

7 I f there should be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy towns in thy land which the LORD thy God gives thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother,

Если среди твоих братьев в каком-либо из городов земли, которую дает тебе Господь, твой Бог, окажется бедняк, то не будь жестоким и скаредным к нуждающемуся брату.

8 b ut thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he lacks.

Будь щедрым и охотно дай ему взаймы все, в чем бы он ни нуждался.

9 K eep thyself that there not be a thought of Belial in thy heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother to give him nothing; for he shall cry unto the LORD against thee, and it shall be a sin unto thee.

Берегись, чтобы не затаить подлую мысль: «Седьмой год, год прощения долгов, близок», не озлобься на своего нуждающегося брата и не откажи ему. Иначе он взмолится к Господу против тебя, и ты окажешься виновным в грехе.

10 T hou shalt surely give unto him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him because for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works and in all that thou puttest thine hand to.

Дай ему щедро и сделай это без злобы в сердце – ведь за это Господь, твой Бог, благословит тебя во всех твоих делах и во всем, что ты делаешь своими руками.

11 F or the poor shall never cease out of the land; therefore, I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor and to thy needy, in thy land.

В этой земле всегда будут бедняки. Поэтому я повелеваю тебе быть щедрым к братьям и к бедным и нуждающимся в твоей земле. Освобождение слуг (Исх. 21: 2-6)

12 ¶ And if thy brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, is sold unto thee and serves thee six years, then in the seventh year thou shalt send him forth from thee free.

Если твой соплеменник-еврей, мужчина или женщина, продаст себя тебе и прослужит у тебя шесть лет, то в седьмой год ты должен отпустить его на свободу.

13 A nd when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not send him away empty.

А отпуская на свободу, не отсылай его с пустыми руками.

14 T hou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock and out of thy threshing floor and out of thy winepress; of that with which the LORD thy God has blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.

Дай ему долю от своего мелкого рогатого скота, от своего гумна и винного пресса. Дай ему то, чем благословил тебя Господь, твой Бог.

15 A nd thou shalt remember that thou wast a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God ransomed thee; therefore, I command thee this thing to day.

Помни, что ты сам был рабом в Египте, а Господь, твой Бог, избавил тебя от рабства. Поэтому я и даю тебе сегодня такое повеление.

16 A nd it shall be, if he says unto thee, I will not go away from thee because he loves thee and thy house because he is well with thee,

Но если слуга скажет тебе: «Я не хочу уходить от тебя», – потому что он любит тебя и твою семью, и у тебя ему хорошо,

17 t hen thou shalt take an aul and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy slave for ever. And also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise.

то возьми шило и приколи им его ухо к двери, и он останется твоим слугой на всю жизнь. Сделай то же самое и со служанкой.

18 I t shall not seem hard unto thee when thou sendest him away free from thee, for he has served thee for half the cost of a hired servant for six years; and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.

Не считай для себя убытком освободить слугу, ведь он прослужил тебе шесть лет за половину стоимости наемника. Господь, твой Бог, благословит тебя во всем, что бы ты ни делал. О первородном скота

19 ¶ All the firstborn males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto the LORD thy God; thou shalt do no work with the firstborn of thy bullock nor shear the firstborn of thy sheep.

Отделяй для Господа, своего Бога, всех первородных самцов из стад и отар. Не работай на первородном воле и не стриги первородного барана.

20 T hou shalt eat it before the LORD thy God each year in the place which the LORD shall choose, thou and thy household.

Каждый год ты и твоя семья должны есть их в присутствии Господа, твоего Бога, в месте, которое Он выберет.

21 A nd if there is any blemish in it, if it is lame or blind or has any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto the LORD thy God.

Если у животного есть изъян, если оно хромое или слепое, или у него есть какой-либо серьезный недостаток, ты не должен приносить его в жертву Господу, твоему Богу.

22 T hou shalt eat it within thy gates; the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck and as the hart.

Ты должен съесть его в своем городе. И ритуально нечистый, и чистый человек может есть его мясо, как если бы это была газель или олень.

23 O nly thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.

Но ты не должен есть кровь. Выливай ее на землю, как воду.
