1 ¶ And I stood upon the sand of the sea and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon its horns ten crowns, and upon its heads the name of blasphemy.

И вот дракон встал на берегу моря. Зверь из моря Тут я увидел, как из моря поднимается зверь, у которого десять рогов и семь голов. На рогах его – десять венцов, а на головах написаны кощунственные имена.

2 A nd the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and its feet were as the feet of a bear, and its mouth as the mouth of a lion; and the dragon gave it his power and his throne and great authority.

Зверь, которого я видел, был похож на леопарда, но у него были медвежьи лапы и львиная пасть. Дракон дал зверю свою силу, свой трон и свою власть.

3 A nd I saw one of its heads as it were wounded to death; and its deadly wound was healed; and all the earth marveled, and followed the beast.

Одна из голов зверя, казалось, получила смертельную рану, но эта рана зажила. И все жители земли в изумлении пошли за зверем.

4 A nd they worshipped the dragon which had given the authority unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast; saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with it?

Они поклонились дракону за то, что тот дал зверю такую власть. Они поклонились зверю и говорили: – Разве еще есть кто-то подобный этому зверю? И кто может с ним сразиться?!

5 A nd there was given unto it a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto it to continue forty and two months.

Зверю было дано говорить надменные и кощунственные слова, и ему было позволено властвовать сорок два месяца.

6 A nd it opened its mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle and those that dwell in heaven.

Он раскрыл свою пасть, чтобы клеветать на Бога, на Его Имя, на Его жилище и на всех жителей неба.

7 A nd it was given unto it to make war with the saints and to overcome them; and power was given it over all kindreds and tongues and nations.

Ему была дана также власть вести войну со святыми и победить их. Он получил власть над всяким родом и племенем, языком и народом.

8 A nd all that dwell upon the earth shall worship it, whose names are not written in the book of the life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.

И поклонятся ему все жители земли, кроме тех, чьи имена записаны еще от создания мира в книге жизни у Ягненка, Который был принесен в жертву.

9 I f anyone has an ear, let him hear.

Если у кого есть уши, пусть услышит!

10 H e that leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Кому суждено идти в плен, тот пойдет в плен, и кому суждено быть убитым мечом, тот будет убит мечом. От святых требуется терпение и вера. Зверь из земли

11 ¶ Then I beheld another beast coming up out of the land; and he had two horns like the Lamb, but he spoke as the dragon.

Потом я увидел другого зверя. Он выходил из земли, и у него было два рога, как у ягненка, но говорил он, как дракон.

12 A nd he exercised all the power of the first beast in its presence and caused the earth and those that dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

Он наделен всей властью первого зверя и действует от его имени. Он заставляет всех жителей земли поклониться первому зверю, у которого зажила смертельная рана.

13 A nd he does great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven to the earth in the sight of men

Он совершает великие чудеса и даже сводит огонь с небес на глазах у людей.

14 a nd deceives those that dwell on the earth by those signs which were given unto him to do in the presence of the beast, commanding those that dwell on the earth to make an image of the beast, which has the wound by the sword, and did live.

Этими чудесами, которые ему было дано совершить от имени зверя, он обманывает жителей земли. Он сказал им, чтобы они воздвигли изображение зверя, который был смертельно ранен мечом, но выжил.

15 A nd it was given unto him to endue the image of the beast with spirit, so that the image of the beast should speak, and he shall cause those that do not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

Этому второму зверю было дано вдохнуть жизнь в изображение зверя, чтобы оно смогло говорить и действовать так, чтобы был казнен всякий, кто не поклонится изображению зверя.

16 A nd he caused all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slaves, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads;

Еще он устраивает так, чтобы все люди, малые и великие, богатые и бедные, свободные и рабы, получили клеймо на свою правую руку или на лоб.

17 a nd that no one might buy or sell, unless he has the mark or the name of the beast or the number of its name.

Все, кто не имеет такого клейма, не могут больше ничего ни купить, ни продать. Клеймо – это имя зверя или число, обозначающее его имя.

18 H ere is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for the number of man; and its number is six hundred sixty-six.

Здесь нужна мудрость. Тот, кто наделен разумом, пусть высчитает число зверя, потому что это число человека. И число его 666.
