1 ¶ And it came to pass in those days that Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of the Gentiles

2 m ade war against Bera king of Sodom and against Birsha king of Gomorrah and against Shinab king of Admah and against Shemeber king of Zeboiim and against the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

вместе пошли войной на Беру, царя Содома, Биршу, царя Гоморры, Шинава, царя Адмы, Шемевера, царя Цевоима, и на царя Белы (то есть Цоара).

3 A ll these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.

Эти цари объединили силы в долине Сиддим (где теперь Соленое море ).

4 T welve years they had served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

Уже двенадцать лет они были под властью Кедорлаомера, но на тринадцатый год восстали.

5 A nd in the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him came and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim and the Zuzims in Ham and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim

В четырнадцатый год Кедорлаомер и союзные с ним цари вышли и разбили рефаимов в Аштерот-Карнаиме, зузимов в Гаме, эмеев в Шаве-Кирьятаиме

6 a nd the Horites in their Mount Seir unto the plain of Paran, which is by the wilderness.

и хорреев в нагорьях Сеира, по дороге в Эл-Паран, на краю пустыни.

7 A nd they returned and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the works of the Amalekites and also the Amorites that dwelt in Hazezontamar.

Оттуда они повернули назад и пришли к Эн-Мишпат (то есть Кадешу) и завоевали всю землю амаликитян, а также аморреев, которые жили в Хацацон-Тамаре.

8 A nd the king of Sodom and the king of Gomorrah and the king of Admah and the king of Zeboiim and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar) went out, and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim,

9 t hat is, against Chedorlaomer the king of Elam and Tidal king of the Gentiles and Amraphel king of Shinar and Arioch king of Ellasar: four kings against five.

10 A nd the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits, and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled and fell there; and those that remained fled to the mountain.

В долине Сиддим было много смоляных ям; когда цари Содома и Гоморры обратились в бегство, многие упали в них, а остальные бежали в горы.

11 A nd they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their provisions and went away.

Четыре царя захватили все имущество Содома и Гоморры и все их запасы и ушли.

12 A nd they also took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods and departed.

Они забрали также Аврамова племянника Лота, который жил в Содоме, и все его имущество.

13 ¶ And one came that had escaped and told Abram the Hebrew, who dwelt among the terebinth trees of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner; and these were confederate with Abram.

Один из тех, кто спасся, пришел и рассказал об этом еврею Авраму. Аврам жил неподалеку от великих деревьев, принадлежавших аморрею Мамре, брату Эшкола и Анера – все они были союзниками Аврама.

14 A nd when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his tried and experienced servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.

Когда Аврам услышал, что его родственник в плену, он созвал триста восемнадцать способных к бою мужчин, рожденных в его доме, погнался за четырьмя царями и преследовал их до Дана.

15 A nd he and his slaves poured themselves out against them by night and smote them and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

Ночью Аврам разделил свой отряд, напал на них и обратил в бегство, преследуя их до Ховы, к северу от Дамаска.

16 A nd he recovered all the goods and also brought again his brother Lot and his goods and the women also and the people.

Он возвратил все добро и своего родственника Лота со всем имуществом, и женщинами, и людьми. Аврам встречает Мелхиседека

17 ¶ And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the valley of the king.

Когда Аврам возвращался после победы над Кедорлаомером и союзными с ним царями, царь Содома вышел встречать его в долину Шаве (то есть Царскую долину);

18 T hen Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought forth bread and wine, for he was the priest of the most high God.

Мелхиседек, царь Салима, вынес хлеб и вино. Будучи священником Бога Всевышнего,

19 A nd he blessed him and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of the heavens and of the earth;

он благословил Аврама, сказав: – Благословен будь Аврам от Бога Всевышнего, Творца неба и земли.

20 a nd blessed be the most high God, who has delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And Abram gave him tithes of all.

И благословен будь Бог Всевышний, отдавший твоих врагов в твои руки. Аврам дал ему от всего десятую часть.

21 ¶ Then the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons and take the goods to thyself.

Царь Содома сказал Авраму: – Отдай мне моих людей, а добро оставь себе.

22 A nd Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of the heavens and of the earth,

Но Аврам сказал царю Содома: – Я поднял руку к Господу, Богу Всевышнему, Творцу неба и земли, и дал клятву,

23 t hat I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet; I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou should say, I have made Abram rich,

что не приму от тебя даже нитки или ремешка от сандалий, не возьму ничего твоего, чтобы ты не мог сказать: «Я обогатил Аврама».

24 e xcept only that which the young men have eaten and the portion of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre, who shall take their portion.

Я возьму только то, что съели мои люди, а кто пошел со мной – Анер, Эшкол и Мамре – пусть возьмут свою долю.
