1 ¶ When Israel was a boy, I loved him and called my son out of Egypt.

На рассвете того дня погибнет царь Израиля. Любовь Бога к Израилю – Когда Израиль был ребенком, Я любил его, и из Египта призвал Я сына Моего.

2 A s they called them, so they went from them; they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

Но чем больше Я звал израильтян, тем дальше они уходили от Меня. Они приносили жертвы Баалам и благовония идолам.

3 E ven with all this I guided the feet of this same Ephraim, taking them by their arms; but they did not know that I cared for them.

Это Я научил Ефрема ходить, держа его за руки, а он не осознавал, что Я был и Тем, Кто исцелял его.

4 I drew them with human cords, with bands of love, and I was to them as those that raise the yoke from upon their cheeks, and I fed them.

Я вел их узами любви и человеческой доброты. Я снял ярмо с их шеи и склонился, чтобы накормить их.

5 H e shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king because they refused to be converted.

Не вернутся ли они в Египет и не будет ли Ассирия править ими из-за того, что они отказались покаяться?

6 A nd the sword shall fall upon his cities and shall consume his villages and devour them because of their own counsels.

Мечи засверкают в их городах, разрушат затворы их ворот и положат конец их планам.

7 M eanwhile, my people adhere to the rebellion against me though they call unto me upon High; absolutely none at all wish to exalt me.

Мой народ склонен к тому, чтобы отворачиваться от Меня. Хотя пророки и призывают его к Всевышнему, никто не превозносит Его.

8 ¶ How must I leave thee, Ephraim? how shall I give thee up, Israel? how could I make thee as Admah? nor set thee as Zeboim? my heart churns within me; all my compassion is inflamed.

Как Я могу оставить тебя, Ефрем? Как Я могу предать тебя, Израиль? Могу ли поступить с тобой как с Адмой? Могу ли Я сделать тебе то, что Цевоиму? Мое сердце переменилось, пробудилась во Мне жалость.

9 I will not execute the fierceness of my anger; I will not return to destroy Ephraim; for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee; and I will not enter into the city.

Я не поступлю по ярости Своего гнева, не разрушу Ефрема снова, потому что Я – Бог, а не человек, Святой среди тебя. Я не приду в гневе.

10 T hey shall walk after the LORD; he shall roar like a lion; when he shall roar, then the sons shall come trembling from the west.

Они последуют за Мной, Я зарычу, как лев. Когда Я зарычу, Мои дети в трепете придут с запада.

11 A s a bird they shall move speedily out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria; and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.

Они вернутся из Египта, трепеща как птицы, из Ассирии – как голуби. Я поселю их в их жилищах, – возвещает Господь. Израиль похож на своего праотца

12 E phraim compasses me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah yet rules with God and is faithful with the saints.

Ефрем окружил Меня ложью, а дом Израилев обманом, и Иуда сильно противится Богу, и даже верному Святому.
