1 ¶ Lord, thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.

2 B efore the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Преди да се родят планините, И да си дал съществувание на земята и вселената, От века и до века Ти си Бог.

3 T hou dost turn unto man until he is broken and thou saith, Become converted, ye sons of Adam.

Обръщаш човека на пръст, И казваш: Върнете се човешки чада.

4 F or a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past and as a watch in the night.

Защото хиляда години са пред Тебе Като вчерашния ден, който е преминал, И <като> нощна стража.

5 T hou dost cause them to pass by as the waters of a river; they are as a dream, which is strong in the morning like grass.

Като с порой ги завличаш; те стават <като> сън; Заран са като трева, която пораства;

6 I n the morning it blossoms and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers.

Заран цъфти и пораства; Вечер се окосява и изсъхва.

7 ¶ For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath we are troubled.

Защото довършваме се от Твоя гняв, И от негодуванието Ти сме смутени.

8 T hou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

Положил си беззаконията ни, пред Себе Си, Скришните ни грехове в светлината на лицето Си,

9 F or all our days decline because of thy wrath; we end our years according to the word.

Понеже всичките ни дни преминават с гнева Ти. Свършваме годините си като въздишка.

10 T he days of our years are seventy, and of the most valiant eighty years, yet their strength is labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Дните на живота ни са естествено {Еврейски: В себе си.} седемдесет години Или даже, гдето има сила, осемдесет години; Но и най-добрите от тях са труд и скръб, Защото скоро прехождат и ние отлитаме.

11 W ho knows the power of thine anger? that thy wrath is not less than our fear.

Кой знае силата на гнева Ти И на негодуванието Ти според дължимия на Тебе страх?

12 ¶ Cause us to learn this that we might number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Научи <ни> така да броим дните си Щото да си придобием мъдро сърце.

13 R eturn unto us, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy slaves.

Върни се, Господи; до кога? И дано се разкаеш за скърбите на слугите Си.

14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy, and we shall sing and be glad all our days.

Насити ни рано с милостта Си, За да се радваме и веселим през всичките си дни.

15 M ake us glad according to the days in which thou hast afflicted us and the years in which we have seen evil.

Развесели ни съразмерно с дните, <в които> си ни наскърбявал. И с годините, <в които> сме виждали зло.

16 L et thy work appear in thy slaves and thy glory upon their sons.

Нека се яви Твоето дело на слугите Ти, И Твоята слава върху чадата им.

17 A nd let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, and set thou aright the work of our hands upon us; yea, set thou aright the work of our hands.

И нека бъде върху нас благоволението на Господа нашия Бог, <да ни ръководи;> И утвърждавай за нас делото на ръцете ни; Да! делото на ръцете ни утвърждавай го.
